I feel like Andy just doesn't like a lot of the Housewives full stop, not even because they've clashed with his faves. It's long been argued in some of the better reality tv blogs that Andy doesn't like women and that these shows are his expression of misogyny. I'm not sure about that opinion, but Andy definitely has his favourites (as you've listed) and not one of them is an independent woman in the vein of LVP who can run on their own steam.

I think Andy loves a good bitch -- and loves HWs that he can control or manipulate. Kyle is a natural follower, so that's why he thinks she's great (he also has a soft spot for the fragile Kim). Erika is, in his eyes, the blonde reincarnation of Erica Kane lol. LVP has her own direction and her own agenda, and if anybody is calling the shots, it is her. Hence why he and she seem to have a more distant relationship in recent years. The same goes with Nene, and with Kenya.

I would add that on the OC, Andy also loves Vicki. In fact Vicki, Tamra and Shannon is where it's at on the show (an assessment I would agree with -- there is no way Kelly, Lydia, Meghan and Peggy could carry the show on its own). It is clear that Vicki's loneliness and need to be loved means she can be manipulated, and now needs the OC franchise more than ever in order to rebuild her image and her business.

@Cat & @DaytimeFan, take with a grain of salt. Here are some rumors going around about this upcoming season of RHOBH:

If this is true then f-ck Dorit!!!!

I think Dorit had a girl crush on Erika from the get-go. She really wanted Erika to notice her and acknowledge her. Last year at Reunion when Erika complimented her on her swimwear-design career, she positively lit up. I'm sad that she's turned against LVP, though, as I thought her marriage to PK would keep her tight with the Vanderpump/Todds.

More shocking to me is the fact that Erika would have a fallout with KYLE -- the HW with a producing credit on this show! Erika has been slowly cultivating that friendship for over two years! She made it clear when she invited Kyle to Mykonos but ignored the President and Secretary of her Fan Club (Eileen, Rinna) how highly she valued that friendship over the worship of her minions.

Rinna must be thrilled beyond belief by this state of affairs. Unlike the always-kind and incisive @DaytimeFan , I just cannot warm to or enjoy Rinna anymore. I find her a cowardly loudmouth with zero credibility. She's vicious, too, but she covers it up with a lot of knee-slapping and laughter. Basically she is a bully's sidekick -- piggybacking on whoever she thinks is the winning HW in order to get her digs in on somebody else.

  3. @Cheap21

YG's decision not to drop the better singles for Taeyang's cb was a bad idea. I love Taeyang's solo work (Eyes Nose Lips is ICONIC) and as usual YG messed it up. Still, I love reading TY's interviews, he is really proud of this album, and the songs have meaning for him.

@Taoboi BoA is considered to be Korea's Beyoncé and is also huge in Japan. She's done some bops! I also like that she doesn't do cutesy little-girl stuff but instead puts together interesting performances which challenge her (she is pretty great dancer btw).

EXO had a repackage cb and Power is the single they chose to promote. I'm not crazy about the song in the context of their comic-book style mv, but when they perform it live with that awesome choreo, I enjoy it 1000% times more! Here is their comeback stage from yesterday. Kai's solo dance break is amazing!

I just saw the Luann interview...it was good. Luann was clearly affected by this breakup and of course Carole, that bitch, didn't reach out. If Carole wants to tangle with Luann again, then fine, but Luann will smoke Carole like she didn't know could happen.

I just want Luann to have fun and recapture her single Lu magic. I also want her to buy a small jewel box of an apartment in Manhattan.

    In Dorinda news:

Totally agree about the Luann interview. And I too hope she gets a nice little something on the UES! Or at the very least, midtown.

Here is Sarah Paulson and Elisabeth Moss playing Dorinda and Bethenny  I adore Dorinda, so totally support Sarah Paulson's love for her.

I've actually enjoyed Carole and Luann as associates now so I'll be sad to see them going back to rivals. Carole always looks so desperate when she's in attack mode against Luann because Luann literally doesn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about her or her opinions. I loved last year's reunion when she kept telling Carole to shut up.

According to Luann, Carole is the only one from the cast that hasn't reached out to her post-divorce.

I'm calling it now that Lu v. Carole part deux is gonna happen next year.

Classy move, Radziwill. <_< This is why I can no longer abide Carole. She is spiteful about [!@#$%^&*] like this and holds onto stuff. Her relationship with Adam is now over; surely she can find it in her heart to empathize with Luann? As Bethenny pointed out at Reunion, even when things were at their worst between her and Luann last season, Lu still treated Bethenny, her assistants and everyone else civilly offscreen.

I watched the interview and it basically summed up why I love Luann as a HW. She wasn't excessively evasive, even though the questions were prying and in some cases rude with little empathy for her. Maybe Andy was taking his cue from Carole? He doesn't seem to like Luann very much. I wonder why? Erika, Bethenny and Carole seem to be his faves. Maybe because they are always tearing other people down to big themselves up.

Do I think Luann married for love AND the show? Probably. And so did that famewhore Tom. She even defended him in the interview saying he wasn't cut out for marriage. At least she didn't play the victim, except to say that she felt sad, which you could see from her demeanour.

I also liked that they filmed it at her place in the Hamptons instead of that shitty WWHL studio.

If we are getting Carole vs Lu next year, you can bet the deck will be stacked in Carole's favor. Three years ago she got her attack dog, Heather, to go after Luann. Two years ago, Bethenny became that attack dog. With Bethenny be ready to do Carole's dirty work next season?

No, @Cat!! Why do you all want Tinsley fired?! I enjoy her despite her stupidly not voting in the last election. I think that Jill should just be added to the current lineup. Much like Potomac, I feel like the NY cast doesn't need to be tampered with. The chemistry is great as of now.

lol now I feel like a mean person! But IA with @Cheap21 . I like Tinsley as a person, and am happy that she seems to have found a nice, solid guy who is not some social scion or wannabe obsessed with status. But I just don't think she is interesting enough to warrant another season as a HW (FOH at best, and IMO Bravo are missing a trick by not hiring Dale!). And trust me, I understand the need for an Alex type in RHONY to balance out the bitchery and toxicity. I just don't think Tinsley has the relatability, incisiveness or self-awareness of an Alex.

Thanks for posting the RHOD clips. I haven't watched OC or Dallas yet, but I want to say that D'Andra is one of the best new housewife additions in a while! Not just because her mom is Tammy Faye Bakker -- D'Andra is a character herself. Her taking LeeAnne to task was honest and direct without being mean, and it rang true of real friendships. Also her scene with that sketchy dead-eyed stepson. She really shows a lot of her life, and I like that a lot. It's not just pink dog food and Cabo. *cough*

  8. 38 minutes ago, Nothin'ButAttitude said:

@Soaplovers, I didn't want Lizzie to be recurring. I want her full-time. Again, she has everything to make a perfect housewife. She was smart, pretty, strong, had money, and had a fine a** hubby.

I don't think that returning housewives are a bust. It is the ones that Andy brings back that are a bust. Sheree nor Bethenny were busts. They brought drama, which was needed. I don't see Camille, who is rumored to be full-time on BH this upcoming season, to be a bust either. I don't think Jaq returning was a bad choice either. I think the timing was bad b/c it was obvious that Tre would have no choice but to argue with her about sh-t that happened 3-4 seasons ago, and we (the viewers) were already over Gorga v. Guidice-gate. Jaq should've only returned when Danielle was brought back. This upcoming season was the perfect season to bring Jaq back. Caroline too.

I do agree that Dina and Lydia returning were duds, but they were duds their original runs. It all comes down to who is brought back, and what they will bring. If they were boring the original run, IDK why Bravo thinks they won't be their second run.

That being said, Jill (of NY) is another person that needs to be brought back. It's long overdue and fans wanna see how she, Bethenny, and Ramona will interact now.

I agree with @Cat that Gretchen returning annoys Tamra and that alone makes me happy. Anyone that has the power to make that rat squirm is perfect for me.

I never enjoyed Jaqueline so IMO bringing her back last season was dudsville from the get go. That girl never got the memo that she is not the star of NJ!

Anyhoo that's my personal opinion. Even though I hate Bethenny now, her return three seasons ago was electric and really made NYC great again after a boring S6. TBH it was that mix of old and new NY ladies that worked for me. Bethenny vs Heather was riveting!

I also agree that Jill needs to return -- and interact with both Bethenny and Ramona, otherwise it's a waste for us viewers. That threesome (+ Luann) made RHONY what it is today. NY seasons 2 and 3 have been showing daily here and, no joke, I have been DVRing it. Not one bad or boring episode! Yes, things got toxic in S3, but in a very real, relatable way... and it ended with the wicked witch Jill being exposed for her crimes. Even then the situation wasn't 100% black and white. It is a very satisfying viewing experience, and the NY Four drove so much story and dynamics. I honestly think they should drop Tinsley and have Jill replace her so that we have Bethenny, Carole, Ramona, Luann, Sonja (possibly), Dorinda and Jill.

If Ramona gets fired and Jill doesn't come back full-time, though, I fear NY will become a 43 minute advertisement for Bethenny's Skinnygirl Lunch Meats.

Actually I wish they would film less together...im old school housewives format over the current one that requires drama, shade and Cattiness all the time. Don't get me wrong..drama is good but.balance is key.

I'm not even Gretchen is coming back foenjust one episode. She should be a one season and over housewife. If she loses Slade, gets an actual job, maybe married someone with kids...i could see her coming back...but she brings nothing other then to rattle Tamra..and that isn't hars to do. Peggy does that already without even trying lol

IA balance is key, and believe me, after a toxic couple of seasons, I could do without Rinna on BH stinking up the place with any old accusation she can drum up.

The reason I want Gretchen back is that there is something about the bimboish, tacky Gretchen that shakes Tamra to her very core. To the point where she tried to sic her badnewsbear of a son on Gretchen, date-rape style.

Peggy isn't really rattling Tamra as much as Tamra recognising that there is nothing going on with OC right now, and she'd better go after the newbie in order to generate a SL. Peggy can't even antagonise Meghan properly, let alone Tamra.

I wasn't the biggest Slade fan either, but the one thing I enjoyed about him was that he was able to put TamRat in her place at all times. Gretchen and Slade trolling Tamra would be hilarious. Plus, you know Eddie ain't gonna do sh-t as usual.

Nope, he won't. And I sort of respect his willingness to stay out of the fray. He doesn't care about any of em, and now he doesn't have to pretend he actually likes any of these people (except David Beador ofc. Eddie loves David).

That's why I always said they should've brought Lizzie and Gretchen. Those 2 alone would've provided tons of drama and keep this season being entertaining as we'd have to see TamRat sweat it out over the fact that they are back and team Vicki. Plus, we would've had tons of scenes of the two out and about seeing as they are real friends. TamRat seething over the younger and pretty Gretchen and Lizzie would've been hilarious.

Peggy is just too dull, and Lydia showed her first season how dull she was. The only thing I enjoyed about her that she was the first person that rattle Heather and call her on her bulls--t.

    giphy.gif

It boggles the mind why Gretchen was not invited in a Luann-as-FOH role where she essentially appears in all the episodes (as opposed to just one!). Looks to me like Tamra pulled rank (I'm assuming Vicki would have been a-ok with Gretchen's return). I could even have withstood a glimpse of that toad Slade if it meant we got to see Tamra rattled by Gretchen showing up to all the events!

Speaking of rattling Heather... Kelly isn't gripping me this season either.

Kenya showing up married on RHOA and all the women gossiping about it sounds to me like a strong opening story for this upcoming season. Better than Sheree pretending that Shack Sheree is 'almost' finished, and that She By Sheree actually exists.

See I don't love to hate Kenya. I genuinely do not want to watch her at all. Whereas I would say I love to hate Gizelle's hatin ass on Potomac. Peggy, Lydia, and Meghan are all awful and total wastes. Lydia started strong on her first episode and then went completely back to boring as [!@#$%^&*].

As @Nothin'ButAttitude said in his last post, I can respect that! I do think some fans out there do confuse the two tho.

OC is such a disappointment this season, i am still shocked the producers let it get to this point. I could tell within two minutes of the first episode that Peggy was not a good fit. The fact that I forgot Meghan would be back says a lot about how little I missed her know-it-all behind. Like you, I had high hopes for Lydia' s return but those have definitely fizzled.

  13. 14 hours ago, Nothin'ButAttitude said:

Sadly, people don't see all of this. They'd prefer for her to be gone, and the show to go dull. Then all those same people complaining will be moaning when no one is stirring the pot or bringing the drama, and this same show casts another dud like Kim Fields.

Some fans cannot differentiate between hate and love-to-hate sadly. It's possible to dislike a HW and recognise what she can bring to a franchise. I hate Kim Z but still appreciate what she brought to Atl's first three seasons. OC is a case in point where the bores are clearly hurting the show. As standalones, imo Peggy Lydia and Meghan are unworthy of being called HWs. I just don't give a [!@#$%^&*] about them or their lives. Kenya? After the Matt drama and her wedding and her dynamic with Nene and Marlo, I really want to see what is going on with her this season. Her secret wedding went and upped anticipation for season 10 imo.

  14. Atlanta is lucky to have Kenya. She makes things move on the show. If she wasn't on, it would be a borefest of fake SLs like Sheree's. Moreover, i like her. Shes not afraid to both stand up for herself and show her vulnerable side. The way she tried to reach out to Nene even after Nene was awful to her is a case in point. She can and does try to relate to the other women.

Kim Blowup Doll can stay in her lane. What a grubby little pimp she is.

  15. 1 hour ago, Nothin'ButAttitude said:

From what I've heard she sure did. I still need to read that book everyone told me to read about the Hiltons, and how their mother allegedly pimped them off to the highest bidder. I feel like that might be where all Kim's demons stem from.

    House of Hilton (https://www.amazon.com/House-Hilton-Conrad-Wealth-Privilege/dp/0307337227/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503675326&sr=8-1&keywords=house+of+hilton).

Obviously it's a salacious read. Kyle should thank her lucky stars that her child-acting career never really panned out. Remember those stories of how her mom would take her from her bed sleeping and she would wake up on set somewhere? Or the time Big Kathy took her to Studio 54 and then went off to party? I remember Erika was like "That's what I'm talking about! Kyle's so cool!" when she heard the Studio 54 story, but the way Kyle told that story and the one about being taken in the middle of the night to a film set, it sounded kind of scary for a small child.

So imagine you are Kim and actually winning roles and acclaim and $$$$ for your mom to live off of. And you develop a drinking/addiction problem to deal with the pressure. And instead of seeking help for your drinking/anxieties, your mother decides to sweep it under the carpet and enable it -- because possibly having you, her little worker bee, under the influence makes you more reliant on her.

So many of Kim's problems stem from her overbearing mother. Her insecurities. Her addiction to the limelight and marrying for money were probably her mother's obsessions which she projected onto her child. No wonder Kim carries so much anger and resentment today.

@Cat, thinking back, I think Alexia is Democrat. I remember her speaking highly of Obama, and I think she mentioned on one episode or on WWHL how she and Herman tried getting Obama to do an interview for their magazine. I think Ana was the only Republican of the Cubana clique, which was partially rumored to be the reason why she and Lea clashed a bit.

I would be shocked if Kyle voted Trump too, but you never know with her. Kyle knows what to say and do when a camera is on her, but I'm sure she's totally different once the cameras are off. Also, don't forget that Kim once dated Trump too. She probably knows him personally, which could possibly had tempted her to vote for him.

Ana strikes me as one of those borderline Libertarian Republicans lol.

Now that you mention it, I think I do recall Alexia expressing admiration and thanks to Obama for his 8 years in the WH on Instagram! I love Alexia lol.

Lawd I forgot about Kimsley having dated him. Big Kathy sure shoved her girls at anything with money huh -- absolutely anything. Didn't Sonja say she dated him too? And what is the one common denominator which links Sonja to Kim?

  17. @Nothin'ButAttitude Many Cuban Americans in Miami (especially the wealthy ones whose parents came over when Fidel came to power) will be Republican with a capital R. It's personal for them -- the Cuban regime essentially chased their families out of Cuba. The Republicans have a hardline policy regarding the Castro regime because the party is ideologically opposed to Communism. Younger Cuban Americans have been a bit more positive regarding Obama's opening towards Cuba (and the chance of going to Cuba one day to visit), but I think overall the RHoM women who are Cuban-American would feel aligned to the Republican party -- though perhaps not Trump per se. Like they would support Jeb Bush. As I recall, Marysol, Alexia and Ana were quite LGBTQ-positive, and Miami (the city) seems to embrace the community. It's tricky to figure out! I would say Marysol probably ended up going with HRC anyway, and Ana, too. Ana seems to know what's up, and what kind of troll Trump is. Alexia, no clue. She worked with special needs kids in the public school system, so my hearts says no since Trump never really campaigned for public school education lol.

I would be shocked if Kyle on BH voted Trump! I don't think either she or her husband lean that way at all. Most of Hollywood is true blue Dem (and HUGE fundraisers for Hillary and the Democratic Party), and she's big on being part of the social firmament. She also strikes me as a bit of a follower, rather than marching to the beat of her own drum. Heck, even Hollywood Republicans like Arnold Schwarzenneggar won't vote Trump.

Estelle Umansky is an anomaly in this wider social group and kind of a loon.

For all her lack of self-awareness, I think Bethenny must have known if she'd supported Trump her business ventures would have been destroyed. A lot of people will never forgive that type of vote, probably in New York least of all.

Judging by her Twitter feed at the time, I felt that Bethenny tried to appeal to both sides. After the Trump win, she tweeted along the lines of "He won let's get over it and move on." This was around the time protests started forming in the days and weeks after the election result, so it seemed somewhat in response to do that. But hey I buy that she voted for HRC.

In other 'shocking' news, I believe Andy mentioned that the cast of the OC and NJ overwhelming supported Trump.

And in Bethenny news, she is apparently back with Dennis Shields.

  19. Rumor has it that Andy will have sit-down solo interview with Luann on Wednesday Sep 6th!

Wonder if Bethenny will be there to direct Andy on his line of questioning.

OC is def at a turning point -- at this point all current incumbents could go, starting with Peggy, Lydia and Meghan. Somehow, though, Meghan is like a cockroach who keeps turning up no matter how many times you call pest control. And then there is Tamra, Vicki and Shannon, any of which could go, too. Bravo definitely needs a plan of action. I could be wrong on this but I think Bravo and Andy want Shannon to stay. They love Shannon the way they love Erika Jayne. They think a new queen is in town.

  20. 1 hour ago, Cheap21 said:

The issue so much the rumor but that Vicki spread it and put it out there on tv. I cant see Eddie ever being cool with Vicki after that. Hetero (and closeted gay men) who aren't as confident with their masculinity take that very personal and view it as an attack. Tamra is going to stand by her husband, as she should and if he doesnt want anything to do with Vicki than that means she and Tamra are done. Thats just how it has to be. Its going to affect her marriage if she goes back to being friends with Vicki. Likewise, its why Vicki and Shannon are done. The only way any of these friendships could be repaired is if the women divorce their men

Personally, I don't think Eddie is gay, and he is pretty confident in his masculinity but, as you say, it was intended as an attack on Tamra and that's prob why he wouldn't want anything to do with her. Tbh, Eddie was already done with Vicki around S8. By S9 he was showing her the finger at dinner parties and urging Tamra to stay away from her.

Yeah, the Shannon friendship will never be repaired. Even though it was a matter of public record! David hates Vicki.

    54 minutes ago, Soaplovers said:

Someone posted on a different board that Andy Cohen kept Vicki on the show after season 10 to redeem her and see if she could win back favors with the others. I could see his reasoning but after she again blew it in season 11...he should have cut ties with Vicki. If he and the show fired Gretchen for making up the proposal and not owning her part in things then certainly Vicki should be fired (im not even a fan of Gretchen, but I can see the double standard at work).

Kind of like LVP should never acknowledge the crown, so Vicki should never have told Shannon to "Get off MY show!" It was hilarious at the time because Shannon was such a self-righteous whiner during reunion, but in hindsight it highlighted how precarious Vicki's situation is, rather than the opposite.

Yeah, Gretchen was fired for less, though at the time I was ready for her and her fake Slade SLs to go. Technically, Andy and Bravo should have fired Vicki after the solo interviews where Brooks admitted to the scam and Vicki couldn't give a straight answer on when she found out. At the time I felt she was badly treated by Brooks and the three witches and that's why I wanted her to return but now... I'm not so sure it was a good idea. She spent S11 sweeping everything under the carpet.

  21. @Soaplovers @Nothin'ButAttitude Interesting that you both thought Vicki found out in the middle of the season and basically tried to pull a Nixonian cover-up job. When I originally watched S10, I was convinced that Vicki believed Brooks had cancer right until the end and her "nailed on the cross like Jesus was" speech. It was only when Reunion started that I thought "She knows now." But today in hindsight, it is obvious that when she presented those fake medical documents to Tamra, it was a messy clean-up job. The fact that she didn't kick that gross turd out of her life as soon as she found out is stupefying.

100% agree that Vicki's inability to be alone is a major flaw. She constantly admits to her own neediness, but I wish she would do more to deal with it in therapy. It has left her personal life, her business and her family in tatters.

Wow, you advocate cleaning house, huh. Actually, I wish they would. The rot definitely has set in. However, RHoNY S5 frightened Bravo producers forever with regards to major purges (I don't understand why. Were ratings really that bad?). I would guess that Vicki will be gone after this season but Tamra will remain for S13 because she has allied herself with Shannon and made up with Kelly.

    1 hour ago, Cheap21 said:

Tamra and Vicki are the stars of the shows and its anchors. I dont think it can work if you get rid of both of them at once. Its too bad Vicki spread that rumor that Eddie was gay bc that was unforgiveable and really not something you can come back from. She completely changed the dynamic of their relationship and the show with that and it cant be repaired. There's no coming back from it

Agreed that they wouldn't fire both at once. Not sure the Eddie is gay rumor is that big a deal as Tamra herself has acknowledged that it has been around since the dawn of time and she doesn't care. It was more an excuse for Tamra to let her anger explode re: Vicki pretending cancergate never happened. Tamra despised (and was right about) Crooks, and never forgave that Vicki chose him over her (unlike Tamra, who chose Vicki and the show over Simon).

I agree that there is no coming back from S10 and S11, and the show is hurting as a result.
