Those who were defending him knew all along that he did it, they just didn't want to believe that he did.

Jeffrey put his shirt on backwards, lol.

I assumed that it would be pushed out farther than that, but September is okay with me. Guess they don't want to keep viewers waiting too long for the show to return.

I was gone when they saw the baby was black. I knew it was probably Randel's, but the reaction was downright hilarious.

Veronica getting it on with Benny was unexpected. And she gave him a car on top of it, lol.
David was a moron for going home when Veronica is clearly unhinged.
I had to laugh when Jeffrey pushed Landon on the bed, because Landon was all surprised at Jeffrey being aggressive.
Quincy bringing the kid by the house was not something I was expecting, although I figured that the kid was alive.

I never thought it that way, re: Cookie and Puma, but I see it. Bringing in some family for Cookie would also be good at establishing her rapport with people besides her ex-husband and her sons. I'm waiting for that one aunt (or mom?) who comes in and is the ONLY person who shuts her down constantly. Not because I need to see Cookie get shut down, but just to show where she got her drive and determination from.
MAN, imagine Millie Jackson as Cookie's smoky, boozy aunt who gives not a single sh!t about Lucious or his feelings and never lets him forget it.
Millie Jackson needs to be on this show, an appearance or two would be so fun. If anyone could play a character that could really read Lucious, it's Millie Jackson.

The rivalry is going to be Lucious and Jamal vs. the rest of the family (plus Anika), at least that's how the finale set things up. I think that is better than a rival family.

I forgot to mention my favorite part, which was when Cookie opened her gift. Lucious' face was priceless, he was like "yeah, I know what you tried to do".

The finale was written in a way that would have worked if the series lasted just one season, so I was okay with the fast movement of the some of the plot. The battle lines for next season are definitely set.
From the start, I figured that Lucious would end up having some other disease, so I was not surprised at that part.
I knew the second that Rhonda picked up that object that Vernon was finished.
Jamal and Lucious clash, but tonight we saw that Lucious also favors him in a way (which we saw slight hints of throughout the season).
Cookie and Anika's fight was so blaxploitation, but I loved it.
Lucious telling all his misdeeds while medicated was so dream like, but it was a clever way for Cookie to learn the truth.

Well, Veronica surely did show out tonight.

I agree, it's nothing new, the programming blocs that newer networks had a couple of decades ago that catered to more urban audiences are proof of that. Those shows were eventually dropped, though, when those networks took different directions. What is somewhat new is minorities in leading roles in dramas, as it the only leading roles before were mostly in sitcoms.

Naomi Campbell reminded me of Kate O'Mara in her scenes, just the look and some of the facial expressions were giving me Caress. I thought she did a great job.
I thought the musical therapist was trying to get with Andre, but that was still a sexy way of trying to pray with somebody.

In the pilot, Lucious talked about someone named Dottie that wanted to raise his kids and also said that she got shot on some street corner. Could Mary J. Blige be Dottie?

Lucious is a prototype of urban black men who follow old, traditional thinking and are set in their ways, but you can't totally write them off.

I got Cookie, lol.

He's certainly hit the ignorance trifecta. Homophobic, racist and mental illness shaming all in one package. I still can't hate him though.
I appreciate that the writing is so realistic, when it comes to mental illness, there is a real stigma in the black community which prevents people from seeking help. I serve on a state committee for mental health services and one of the things raised by other members is this stigma and the need to tackle it.

Cookie did attempt to stop the hit, but at the same time, the guy probably would have been a threat to her if the truth did come out about her testimony, so I'm guessing that's why there was a lack of caring on her part.

I see nitpicking.

It's a matter of quality over quantity. I think shows can do a lot better with 12-13 episodes, instead of 22. Leaving the viewers wanting more can be good.

Rebecca was annoying, so I'm glad that the character is gone.
Annaliese and Wes have a strange relationship, that scene at the end was so odd.
Oliver got infected by the guy that told Connor to leave Oliver's door, after Connor messed up and Oliver wanted nothing to do with him.

I think the show moves at adequate pace, but I agree that it was written without expectation of renewal, it has a short term series feel in a way.

So Lucious is mad at Andre for being married to a white woman? He is a dumb cluck. Considering that Andre has lied for him, I don't get how he thinks he can't trust Andre.
Cookie should not have been expecting much from Lucious, he did divorce her while she was in prison, despite the fact that she was always in his corner.
I don't like Craplocks (sorry, was not feeling that goofy hair) and I have a feeling he is trouble. I want Dora back, he seemed more decent.

Veronica looked crazy tonight.

Until last year, I hadn't heard any of the allegations against him, but I wasn't surprised he was accused. Something always seemed not right about him and I never was much of a fan of his, The Cosby Show was great, but I never cared for him. He is definitely finished now, there isn't really anyone who will work with him on screen or behind the scenes and the Cosby Show won't be in heavy rotation like it used to be for a very long time, if ever.
