I thought the episode took time to explore the more. The scene where Hakeem was ostracized from his family in a moment of grief was terrific.

As for Jamal's sexuality, there probably is always going to be fluidity there to placate viewers who are not as forward thinking. The black community is still not too accepting.

I think the writers probably wanted to keep the potential for a triangle open when it comes to Ahsha and that's why they did the rewrite. I can't actually see them having German get off the hook unless they really wanted to utilize the character in the future.

I thought the acting was intentionally exaggerated in soap opera fashion, but maybe Logan Browning was just overdoing it.

That ending was almost identical to JR's shooting on Dallas. Nonetheless a good whodunnit is always welcomed.

The ending was so funny to me. Alex looked like she was about to die when her mother came to look at the baby.

Yes, fluidity is a real thing and that is what I was about to post. Annaliese on HTGAWM is seemingly straight yet fluid, so I think we'll see more of this sort of thing on television. At the same time, I do think the writers at Empire may have decided to bend Jamal just a little bit in order to create more story line.

Annaliese is so complex and twisted. When she started hollering out "shoot me", it was took her to another level of crazy. It was a good finale and fortunately didn't disappoint like some of these shows do when they promise a good finale, but fall flat.
