Tyler convinces Carol to find out what is on the disc he found at McGregor's. She puts it in her PC and it almost immediately brings up a number of spreadsheets. Carol can't seem to figure out what any of them mean, as they are all typed in some sort of code. Tyler says that code appears to be made up of anagrams of people and companies. Carol clicks to the next page and discovers a spreadsheet that is not in code. Carol is shocked to see that it is made up of figures from an old annual report of Donahue. She wonders what Anna would be doing with this and why it was just lying around in a manager's office. Tyler says she probably put it in a place she probably thought no one would look. Carol is concerned that Anna could have more highly sensitive information about Donahue and tells Tyler to get back to work immediate and find out if she has anymore files.

Joseph is in the manager's office at the Novi store and is frantically looking for something. Henry comes in and asks what he's looking for and Joseph says he's looking for a disc with some important information. Henry says he doesn't know anything about it and Joseph says that's because no one was supposed to know it was here. Henry asks what was on the disc that made it so important and Joseph replies that it was very private information about the company. Henry tries to help Joseph find it, but Joseph stops him when he starts to look in the bottom file cabinet, saying that he doesn't need any help finding it. Henry is puzzled why Joseph is so frantic to find a disc and leaves the office. After Henry is gone, Joseph calls Anna and tells her that the disc is missing.

Cody comes home to find the debt collector sitting in the middle of the living room. He demands to know how she got into the house and she says it's not important how she got it, the only thing that's important is that she leaves with what she came to get. Cody says that she's just going to have to be patient while he gets the money, but she says that she's all out of patience. She remarks on what a nice home Cody lives in and all the nice things in it. She said it would be a shame if someone were to break in and take everything. Cody says that she wouldn't dare do that, but she says that she won't hesitate to do it. Cody demands that she stay away from his family, but she says there is nothing he can do to stop her. She then grabs him by the collar and says that he's going to get a big surprise very soon that might make him understand how important it is to pay debts. She lets him go and then storms out of the house.

Anna learns of Carolee's (Edmund's wife) plan and is livid. She says that she gave up all rights to the children when she left, but Edmund says that she didn't legally relinquish her parental rights. Anna says that she's only doing it for money and Edmund says that Carolee's mother said the same thing. Anna asks when he talked to Carolee's mother and he explains about the visit. Anna says that it's not really wise for him to speak with her, because she might be trying to cause trouble for him, but Edmund assures her that she's on his side for this one. Edmund says that the petition for custody states that the children don't have a stable family environment. Anna says that the argument is ludicrous, because the children are always around their family. Anna tells Edmund not to worry and promises him that she will help him take care of this situation. Edmund says he doesn't need her to fight his battle, but she says that it's her battle too because it involves both him and her grandchildren.

Chester has convinced Yvette to go to up to their cabin in the mountains to relax. As soon as they are there, Yvette's cell phone vibrates and she goes into the bedroom to answer it. Norm is calling to tell her that the judge refused to hear the case, siting lack of evidence to support the claim of incompetence. Yvette says that they'll just have to find another way to get what they want done and Norm asks what does she suggest. Chester comes into the bedroom and Yvette pretends to be talking to a client and hangs up the phone. Chester says that they didn't come all the way up here to work and Yvette says that work has to come first with her.

Carol asks Cody what he was doing all the time he was away from home and he says that he was doing all sorts of odd jobs. She then asks if he ever got into any trouble and he nervously says no. Carol tells Cody that Trish told her about the incident in the store and he says it was just a customer acting up, that it's nothing to worry about. Carol seems sense that Cody isn't being honest, but doesn't say anything. She goes on to tell him that if he ever has a problem, that he can always come to her and talk about it. Cody thanks her and she leaves his room, he breathes a sigh of relief after she closes the door.

Carol meets B.P. in her office once again.

Carol: I won't be threatened by you.
B.P.: You better hope that I like your answer.
Carol: You're not getting your foot in the door of this company.
B.P.: You're playing a dangerous game here, lady
Carol: I'm going to ask you nicely to leave my office.
B.P.: You think this is a joke?
Carol: Security will be here any minute, so unless you want to be physically removed from this building, you'll go quietly.
B.P.: (chuckles) I'm not through with you, not by a long shot.
    to
B.P. leaves the office with a look of anger on his face.

Meanwhile, at the McGregor mansion, Alma is surprised when her son Troy shows up at the door.

Alma: I thought you'd be in Europe for another six months.
Troy: I was, but I came back because of the new stores.
Alma: Right, you'll have to set up the electronics departments.
Troy: I actually came back for more than that.
    Alma: Really?
Troy: I want to head up the new regional division.
Alma: Are you sure you are ready for that sort responsibility?
Troy: Mom, I just got done selling our brand to some of the most difficult investors in the world, if I can handle that, I can handle anything.
Alma: I suppose you are right. I'll talk to Anna and see what she thinks.

Freeman comes in with a tray.

Freeman: Ms. Cantwell, here's your coffee.
    Alma: Thank you, Freeman.
Freeman: Is this who I think it is?
    Alma: Freeman, you remember Troy.
Freeman: I haven't see you since you were a child.
Troy: I was always at boarding school, so not many people have seen me since then.
    Freeman: How have you been?
Troy: I'm great, I've been doing a lot of work for McGregor, which keeps me very busy.
Freeman: Glad to hear it. Well, I've got to get back to work, but I'll see you later

    Freeman leaves the room

Alma: Listen, why don't we go find Anna and talk to her about the job.
    Troy: Yes, let's do that.

Over at McGregor's corporate office, Jim burst into Gregory's office.

Jim: I'm sick of you filling my wife's head with your psychological nonsense.
Gregory:For your information, Yvette asked me for help.
Jim: So, I guess that it was just your invitation to come in and make the situation worse.
Gregory: There wouldn't be a situation if you would just listen to what Lynette has to say.
Jim: I listen to everything my wife says to me.
Gregory: Lynette sure paints a different picture.
Jim: I try my best, but most of the time my best isn't enough for her.
Gregory: Perhaps what you call your best is the root of the problem.
Jim: I see that she's put all the blame on me.
Gregory: No one is placing blame, but you need to understand that you aren't making things easy for her.
Jim: You know what, you are full of it. Lynette might buy what you say, but as far as I'm concerned you can take you dime store advice and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Jim slams the door as he leaves.

At Number 37, Anna, Estelle and Amee are having a meeting about designs.

Anna: I'm even more impressed with your designs, Amee. Their some of the best I've seen since I've been in the business.
Estelle: We want to get your line in the new Carter-McGregor stores by fall.
Amee: Well, I haven't completed everything in the line yet.
Anna: I think we have more than enough to start a sizable line of furniture.
Amee: Okay, if you think you can pull this off, I'm all for it.
Anna: I think your style is exactly what the market needs.
Estelle: But, we will need you to help make a presentation to our primary investors in New York.
    Amee: How soon?
    Anna: Next week.
Amee: I don't know, I've never really done anything like that before.
Anna: Don't worry about it, I'm sending JC with you, he'll handle all the technical aspects, like the numbers. All you have to do is talk about your designs.
Amee: I guess it won't be so hard since you put it like that.
Anna: Good, the travel arrangements will be made very shortly.

Estelle looks over and spots Carol at the bar

Estelle: Will you excuse me for a minute?

Estelle gets up and goes over to the bar.

Carol: Long time no see, not that it really makes a difference to me.
Estelle: That little stunt you pulled on me almost caused me a lot of trouble.
Carol: I felt that I couldn't trust you, seeing as you are in partnership with Anna.
Estelle: Oh, no dear, it's you that cannot me trusted.
Carol: I had to protect my company.
Estelle: From what? I do business and I don't ever stab anyone in the back, unlike you.
Carol: Please, I gave you fair warning before I severed the contract, you knew what was going to happen.
Estelle: There was nothing fair about it, but of course your definition of fair is completely different that everyone else's.
Carol: You found another buyer, so stop acting like you were on the brink of financial ruin.
Estelle: It's the principal of the thing.
Carol: Principals are out the window when it comes to protecting what's mine.
Estelle: (sarcastically) Yes, principals are just so overrated.
Carol: Truer words were never spoken.

Jim is back at home packing some things, when Lynette comes in.

Lynette: Jim, I wasn't expecting to see you here.
Jim: I'm just grabbing a few things, I'll be out of here in a second.
    Lynette: We need to talk.
Jim: We've done all the talking that we need to for awhile.
Lynette: I'm losing my mind over this, I get headaches, I can't sleep.
Jim: And you think I'm not suffering over this? I want things to be right again, but we really need to give ourselves some time apart in order to get past this.
Lynette: But is being apart really the solution? I feel that you are doing this because you don't want to face your own issues.
Jim: I know I have issues, it's you that needs to work on yours.
Lynette: So now I have issues?
Jim: Everything is so black and white with you, there is no in between, not when it comes to me.
Lynette: I tried to make things as easy as possible on you, but you wouldn't even try.
Jim: I didn't come here to argue.
Lynette: It seems like arguing is the only time you ever say more than two words to me.
Jim: I don't want to go on like this, I can't.

    Jim leaves

Anna frantically rushes into the police station. Edmund is there. Edmund says he was released because he disclosed the location of the children and Anna becomes furious. Edmund says that he didn't want to further jeopardize his chances in court. Anna says that he's essentially handed the children over to Carolee, but he says that he's not backing down at all, he's just playing his cards right. Edmund says that he'll drive down and them later on, but Anna asks him to hold off, but he refuses and says that he has to do things by the rule of law if he expects to retain custody.

JC comes to the Novi Donahue store to check on Trish after someone smashed a window. JC asks if she is okay and Trish says she's fine, but that she narrowly missed getting injured. Cody is angry about what happened and promptly starts to call the bookies number, but Trish stops him saying that he might just cause more trouble. JC is puzzled as to what is going on and Trish fills him in on the situation. JC remarks on how dangerous this all is, while Cody starts to clean up the broke glass. JC says that such a matter should be handled by the police if he these people are that dangerous. Just then, the phone rings, Cody answers it and the caller hangs up. He says he knows that was the bookie, he recognized the number on the caller ID.

Tyler informs Carol that he couldn't find anymore documents at McGregor, he says that they are probably long gone. Carol tells him that all the important documents from the pass are probably at the corporate office and she suggest that he break in at night. Tyler says that he's not the type that breaks into places and prepares to leave just as Carol offers him a huge cash advance on the spot, saying that it should loosen him up a little. Tyler says he doesn't feel right about doing it, but can't pass up so much money. Carol hands him the check and tells him that he better find the files she needs this time or she'll find someone else to do the job.

Estelle is shocked when Norm tells her that Donahue wants out of their contract with her company. Norm says that they feel they can't trust her now that she's gone in on a deal with McGregor. Estelle says that it's petty and childish to break the contract for that reason, especially sense she's been Donahue's main supplier for 20 years. Norm says that they will continue to the contract until they can find a new supplier, but Estelle says that she would rather immediately break ties with Donahue sense they have a problem with the way she runs her business. Norm says that it would put enormous strain on they're stores if they don't find a new supplier beforehand, but Estelle says that she doesn't care if it does, she just wants to distance herself from Donahue Stores.

Short opening credits video (might load slow): http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1539150TT54jSTW

Anna is standing in the door of Yvette's office, shocked at what she just heard.

Anna: What is going on here?

Yvette: It's nothing, it just has to do a business decision and Ms. Lightner here didn't see eye to eye with me.

Anna: I know what I heard, Yvette and I want an explanation.

Cassandra: I'll be very glad to give it to you.
    Yvette: Don't you dare.
Cassandra: Don't you think it's time this whole thing just comes out, I mean we've gone round and round,
There's no point in continuing to try and hide it.
Yvette: If you have one ounce decency, you will leave right now.
Anna: She said something about Andrew and a child, I want to know what it is.
Cassandra: And you're gonna find out right now. What did you know about your husband's past?
Anna: I knew everything, he told all there was to know.
Cassandra: Hmmm, everything? Are you sure? How about the little detail about how he married me
    and we had a son?
    Anna: What?
Cassandra: I can see you're visably shocked, but still have a glimmer of denial in your eye.
Anna: Is this some sort of sick joke?
Cassandra: Oh, it's not and I'm about to tell the rest of this story. We were newlyweds and his job
as a salesman kept him on the road, but he'd always manage to write and visit as much as he could.
Then all of the sudden, the visits stopped and the letters shortly after. I guess that's when
    he met you.s
Anna: Andrew would never do something like that, he wouldn't abandon a wife and child.
He wasn't that sort of man.
Cassandra: Well, that's precisely what he did. Fortunately, my son turned out well in spite of the circumstances.
Anna: Wait a minute? Is George Lightner your son?
    Cassandra: Yes.
Anna: I need to have a minute alone.

    Anna leaves the office.

Yvette: I hope you're happy with yourself, Cassandra.

    Yvette goes after Anna.

At Lynette's house, Jim as at the door with his bags. Lynette lets him in.

Lynette: Does this mean what I think it means?

Jim: I'm ready to move back in.
Lynette: So you think we've had enough time apart?
Jim: That and the fact that the holidays are coming up and I didn't want to be away from you and the kids.
Lynette: I'm really glad you have decided to come back. I'd hate for you to be in some hotel over the holidays.
Jim: I think we do our best bonding during this time of year, so I think it would be good for us.
    Lynette: Maybe so.
Jim: I know that I've been a little difficult these past few months. I hope that hasn't really changed the
    way you feel about me.
    Lynette: Of course not.
Jim: I'm thankful for that. And listen, if you still think we need marriage counseling, I'm willing to give it a try, just for you.
    Lynette: I think that's a good idea.
Jim: We can make an appointment with Dr. Roosevelt after the holiday.
Lynette: Um, We'll be getting a new counselor.
Jim: Well, why, I thought you went to Dr. Roosevelt because he's one of the best in the state?
Lynette: (nervous) I feel that another doctor might suit our needs better.
Jim: If you think this will help us, then I'm all for it.

Jim is looking a little puzzled as to why Lynette is switching doctors.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Jim goes to Greg's office.

    Jim: Dr. Roosevelt?

Greg: Jim, what brings you here?
Jim: Lynette told me she was switching doctors.
Greg: Yeah, she thinks that you two need a different kind of therepy.
Jim: I'm asking you because when she told me about it, she seemed a little nervous, like there was a problem.
    Greg: Really?
Jim: I was just wondering if there was another reason for the decision.
Greg: Not at all, I just thought another therapist could better handle this situation.
Jim: I thought Lynette made the decision.
Greg: (nervous) Uh, yes she did, but it was my suggestion.
Jim: First Lynette acted strange when she talked about this, now you're acting nervous like there is something to hide.
What exactly is the problem here?
Greg: I've counseled a lot of couples and I've seen some seek the help of other therapists.
Jim: You've been counseling her since our separation, has she said anything to you that would
suggest she's not as committed to making this work as I am?
Greg: That's something you'd have to talk with your wife about.
Jim: I have talked to her, but the past couple of times I've seen here, she's been a little on edge.
Greg: She's had a hard time, so I assume she's trying to sort out all of her feelings.

Jim takes notice at the comment and looks a little concerned.

Jim: Sort out all of her feelings? What does that mean?
Greg: It's just shrink talk, you have nothing to worry about

    Jim is still looking concerned.

Jim: Um, thanks for your time.
    Greg: Sure.

Jim leaves, looking baffled. Greg breathes deeply as he realizes that Jim might sense something.

Later on, Cassandra has returned to her office at Lightner and finds George waiting for her. He's holding the newspaper.

George: Why is it that I didn't know about what is in this paper?
Cassandra: I never felt the need to tell you.
George: I am the co-CEO of this company, Mother. This office has been inundated with calls from investors
who are not sure they want to keep investing.
Cassandra: Yvette McGregor's the one who got all this stuff printed up, blame her.
    George: What?
Cassandra: She thought she would one up me, but I one upped her right back.
    George: What did you do?
Cassandra: I told the truth to Anna McGregor.
George: You did what? Do you realize you just destroyed our plan?
    Cassandra: I was angry.
George: Well, luckily I have a plan B.
    Cassandra: What would that be?
George: I'd prefer not to tell you the details, I don't want this plan ruined.
    Cassandra: It had better work.
George: Oh, believe me, it will. By next week, Lightner will be the biggest corporation in the Midwest.

Carol is at her office at Donahue, when JC peeks in the door.

Carol: Well, this is a nice surprise. What brings you here?

    JC: Curiosity.
    Carol: About what?
JC: About this whole feud between the families.
Carol: It's a business rivalry, nothing unusual about it.
JC: It just seems like there is so much more to it.
Carol: What made you start thinking about all this?
JC: There was report on the television earlier that said Donahue has something to do with the proxy fight among the McGregor shareholders.
    Carol: I see.
JC: Is it true? Are you in on it?
Carol: It's a stellar business opportunity.
JC: Do you really think it's necessary to take it this far?
    Carol: Donahue needs growth.
JC: If you do this, the whole feud is just going to get worse. For once, I would like there to be a little peace
between both sides of my family.
Carol: I bet your father and Anna sent you over here to ask me to cut some slack.
JC: Gran, I came over here on my own, nobody sent me. I do have a mind of my own you know.
Carol: I know you are very bright, but sometimes bright people can be manipulated.
JC: I'm just asking for civility. I don't want to feel like I have to support one side of my family over the other.
Carol: No one has ever asked you to pick sides.
JC: Some times, it feels that way though.
Carol: You aren't a part of this feud, you never have been.
JC: But I'm affected by the back and forth sometimes. I know this visit probably didn't do any good, but please, at least
consider toning this whole thing down.

    JC leaves.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, over at McGregor, Anna walks into the boardroom where the board of directors is waiting.

Anna: The shareholders are starting to vote right now.

Alma: Are you saying we're out of time?
Anna: I was able to get some of them to hold off voting, but I don't know how long it will last.
    Leonard: Any preliminary numbers yet?
Anna: So far it's very close, almost 50-50.

    Yvette: We need a plan.
Anna: What could we possibly come up with at this point? we've got less than a few hours to call the undecideds.

Just then, the office secretary comes into boardroom.

Secretary: Mrs. McGregor, someone is here to see you.

    George walks into the boardroom.

Anna: What are you doing here?

George: I'm here to make an offer.
Anna: Whatever it is, we don't want it.
George: I think you might want to hear this. I'm making you an offer that
could spare you a lot of humiliation.
Anna: I guess since the voting is so close, you aren't to confident about your chances.
George: I'm just trying to avoid doing this the hard way. A hostile takeover is harsh,
not to mention it was bring out secrets that you probably don't want in the tabloids.
Alma: Anna, what is he talking about?
George: Didn't anyone tell you? I'm Andrew's son.
    Leonard: What?
Anna: It's a long and complicated story, but he's telling the truth.
George: I'm sure you wouldn't want all that to be exposed to world.
Anna: I'm going to fight this out, I won't give into threats.
George: I'll offer you a very good price to get out of this company.
Anna: You have got a lot of nerve.
George: I just want what is mine.
Anna: And you're delusional too. This company does not belong to you.
George: I think after what my father did, I'm entitled to something.
Anna: I don't condone what Andrew did, but it's not fair for you to blame it on me or my family.
    George: I'm not assigning blame.
    Anna: Then what is it?
George: Like I said, I'm claiming what is mine.
Anna: You are pathetic, just as bitter as your mother.

George pulls out his checkbook and writes a check, then handing to Anna.

    George: My only offer.

Anna takes the check and rips it in half.

Anna: Oh, no. You wanted a fight and you're gonna get one.

George looks at Anna and chuckles.

George: Don't ever say I didn't try to play fair.

George walks out as the board is still stunned by the revelation.

Lynette: (into phone) I'll talk to you later.

Lynette hangs up the phone and continues to look nervous.

Lynette: I wasn't expecting you back until later, where are the kids?

Jim: With my parents, I decided to let them spend a little more time there
so we could have some time to ourselves today.
Lynette: That's good, because I do have something to talk to you about.
Jim: Does it have anything to do with who was on the phone? You were telling whoever it was
that there was something I had to know.
Lynette: This really isn't easy for me at all.
    Jim: This sounds serious.
Lynette: It is. I was raised to always tell the truth, no matter how hurtful it might be.
Jim: What exactly is it you are trying to say to me?
Lynette: First off, I need you to understand that I never intended to hurt you.
Jim: Whatever is, just say it.
Lynette: I'm afraid it's impossible for me to stay in this marriage anymore.
    Jim: I see.
Lynette: I thought we could make it work, but I've come to the realization that it isn't possible.
Jim: Lynette, I know that the separation was hard for you and I said some things I didn't mean, but we can make it.
    Lynette: No, we can't.
Jim: I don't understand, not too long ago you wanted us back together and were going to therapy, why the sudden change.
Lynette: It's just better for the both of us if we just go our separate ways.
Jim: If you think that I'm not capable of change, you are wrong. I'm ready to make concessions and be a better husband to you.
    Lynette: It's not that.
    Jim: Then what is it?

Lynette pauses for a moment, becoming a little emotional.

    Lynette: I've been unfaithful.
    Jim: What?
Lynette: It hurts me to tell you this, but I've got to be honest.
Jim: (scoffs) I should have known something was up, I should have known.
Who was this guy? Somebody from work?
    Lynette: Not exactly.
Jim: It's got to be somebody you know, I'm sure it wasn't just some random person.

Jim thinks for a second and then a knowing look comes over his face.

Jim: God, how could I have been so stupid? It's the damn doctor, isn't it?
    Lynette: Yes.
Jim: When you were so anxious to switch doctors, I should have figured it out.
I knew there was something that wasn't right with that man.
    Lynette: It's not his fault.
Jim: What sort of doctor goes around sleeping with one of his patients and a married one at that?
Lynette: It didn't happen when he was still counseling me, it was after. It was last night.
Jim: I guess you had to wait until a got out of town, huh?
Lynette: It wasn't planned, it just happened.
Jim: That makes it so much better.
Lynette: Please, Jim, I need you to understand---
Jim: Understand what? That my wife cheated on me?
Lynette: Everything inside of me just built up ever since the separation. Greg was there for me when I needed a shoulder.
    You had walked out.
Jim: Am I having hearing problems or did I just hear you try to blame me for what you did?
Lynette: I wasn't trying to blame you, I was just--
Jim: I'll admit, I was a real jerk toward you last year, but you can't lay what you did at my door. I moved back in months ago.
You had every opportunity to tell me you had feelings for this man and you didn't do it.
Lynette: I didn't want to hurt you.
Jim: And pretending that you wanted to save this marriage wasn't hurting me?
Lynette: I do care about you and I was hoping that things would straighten themselves out.
Jim: If you care someone, you don't deceive them.
    Lynette: Jim, I--
Jim: That's it, I'm done. I've heard everything I needed to hear.
    Lynette: No, you haven't.
Jim: Right now, I'm breaking inside, so I can't listen to anymore.

Jim goes outside and slamming the door behind him. He breaks down in tears as he walks away.

On the next Novi: The results of the shareholder's vote are in, with a surprising twist.

Edmund and Joseph are in the conference room discussing the budget when Yvette comes in and says they better make adjustments for her project. Edmund says they already know that Anna put the brakes on the project, but Yvette says that she doesn't need Anna's permission to move forward. Joseph says that he won't allow her to undermine their mother in anyway and that it's best that she just let the whole thing drop. Yvette says that she is tired of the way Anna is running the company, without taking any risks. Jim is upset that Yvette didn't inform him of her decision before she went ahead with it. Lynette said she didn't tell him because she knew he would get upset, just like he is now. Jim says the he's only concerned about what this will do to their children, since both of their parents will be at work. Lynette says that she doesn't have the job yet and that even if she does get it she'll only work in the evenings so she can stay with the children in the day. Jim says he's afraid that this will put on strain on their marriage, since they will hardly see each do to their work schedules.

JC says when it comes to his family's company, he has a right to ask questions, especially when it comes to Tyler who made it clear in the past that he didn't like the McGregor family. Tyler says that he's not here to start any trouble, he just needed a job. JC says that he should make sure he doesn't cause any trouble, because there will be harsh consequences if he does. Tyler says he won't be threatened by anyone and that JC needs to back off. JC tells Tyler that he could lose his job quicker than he got it if he doesn't watch what he says.

Norm meets Yvette in the Upper Peninsula and is anxious for details. Yvette says she doesn't have many yet, but she knows that her father did something that wasn't right. She continues on to say that she's going to try and talk to the woman she spoke with again, to try and get more information out of her. Norm says that he's not so sure that this plan will work out, but Yvette tells him to exercise a little patience before dooming their plan. Norm asks if Chester knows she's here and Yvette says that Chester thinks that she's in Germany and won't be expecting her back for another day or so. Norm says he's relieved to know that, because Chester already caught them together once. Yvette says that they aren't doing anything wrong, so it doesn't matter if Chester saw them. Norm says that going behind her mother's back isn't exactly right, but Yvette says that it's just business as usual for her.

Carol isn't pleased when she gets a copy of the tabloid announcing Cody's gambling problem. When she confronts Cody about it, he says that he made a few minor bets when he stopped over in New York and lost, but that it's no big deal. Carol is angered by Cody's nonchalant attitude about the situation and demands to know the whole story. Cody says that he has things under control, but Carol says if that were the case, he would have never come back to Novi so abruptly. Cody says that Carol is badgering him once again and would rather believe a tabloid over him. Carol says that she's only trying to make sense of things, because the article in the tabloid concerned her. Cody finally breaks down and tells the whole story, that he made bets he couldn't pay for and the bookie has come after him. Carol tells him that they need to call the police, but Cody says that would only make things worse. He continues on to say that the only way to fix the situation is to pay the bookie off. Carol doesn't like the idea of paying off someone who has threatened Cody, but Cody says that he doesn't want to see anyone get hurt and explains that the bookie's collector threatened the family.

At the laundry, the debt collector comes in and introduces herself to Claire as Mrs. Danville. She asks Claire about the story that ran in the tabloid and Claire claims to know nothing about it, but Mrs. Danville says that her boss found out that she's the one who leaked the story to the tabloid and exposed her bosses private telephone number to several journalists. Claire says that she was just trying to make some extra money and didn't mean to cause any trouble. Mrs. Danville says that the cops have been asking her boss a lot of questions and that she may have incriminated him in criminal activity. Claire becomes nervous and decides to keep her hand on the security alarm button. Mrs. Danville asks her to have the tabloid retract her story, but Claire refuses saying that she can't lose the money she earned, because she has children in college that need the money. Mrs. Danville tells Claire she has 48 hours to discredit the story and storms out.

Chester is in his office. He picks up the phone and dials Anna at the McGregor estate.

Chester: Hey, Anna, I'm glad I caught you.
Anna: Chester, what can I do for you?
Chester: Yvette rushed off to London last night, she said something about a business emergency with some investor. I'm sure she's there by now, but she hasn't contacted me, have you heard from her?
    Anna: What business emergency?
Chester: All I know is that Yvette got a call last night and said she had to leave right away.
Anna: There weren't any problems last night, if there were, I would have known.
Chester: Well, then none of this makes any since, why would she lie about something like that?
Anna: I have no idea, do you know who called her?
Chester: It was some woman who said she needed to speak with Yvette urgently.
Anna: It's obvious she's up to something she doesn't want anyone to know about.
Chester: I don't know, but I'm getting really concerned.
Anna: If she calls you let me know.
    Chester: I will
    Anna: Bye.

    Anna hangs up.

Anna: Yvette, what are you up too?

Meanwhile, at an Inn in Montreal, Cassandra and Yvette come in the front door and go to the front desk.

Desk Clerk: How can I help you?
Cassandra: I'm looking for a man who may have stayed here a couple of weeks ago, his name is George Lightner.
Desk Clerk: We don't give out information about our patrons.
Cassandra: Oh, but it's very important that I find him, I'm his aunt.
Desk Clerk: I'm sorry, I can't disclose any information.
Cassandra: Perhaps, I have something here that will loosen your tongue.

Cassandra opens her purse and pulls out a hundred dollar bill.

Desk Clerk: Perhaps I could be of some assistance.
Cassandra: Thank you, dear. I figured you'd see it my way.
Desk Clerk: He stayed for about a week and that's all I know.
Cassandra: Well, thanks a lot. That wasn't worth a dollar

Cassandra puts the bill back into her purse.

    Yvette pulls Cassandra aside.

Yvette: So this is the all you had to go on?
Cassandra: I'm positive he's somewhere here in this city.
Yvette: He better be, because I didn't agree to go on a wild goose chase.
Cassandra: Don't worry, we'll find him. He's done this before and I've always tracked him down.

Cassandra's phone buzzes, she opens it and sees a text message.

    Cassandra: Oh, a text message.

The message reads "Know you are in town, will meet you soon"

Cassandra: It's from George, he knows we are here.
Yvette: Well does it say where he's at?
Cassandra: No, just says he'll meet me soon.
    Yvette: It's a start.

Back in Novi, DA Mike Smith enters his darkened house, when he switches on the light, B.P. is sitting in a chair in the living room.

Mike: How the heck did you get in my house?
    B.P.: I let myself in.
Mike: I should have never got caught up in this with you.
B.P.: Well, I think it's rather pointless to second guess now. About these charges against Cody Donahue, I wasn't pleased to head about you dropping the case.
Mike: I didn't have much of a choice, the person who bought the gun didn't match Donahue's description.
B.P.: You had better find a way to make those charges stick or there is going to be hell to pay.
Mike: It's too late, I already dropped the case.
B.P.: That wasn't smart, Mr. Smith.

B.P. grabs Mike by the throat.

Mike: I don't want to be a part of this anymore, I'll give you back every cent you gave me.
B.P.: I paid for you to do a job and I expected to get done.
Mike: I can't do anything else now.
B.P.: I guess the old saying "If you want something done right, do it yourself" is true.

B.P. lets Mike go, B.P. leaves.

JC and Amee are at the CoffeeRoom, at a table.

Amee: You know, I'm really sorry to hear about what happened at Donahue.
    JC: Thanks.
Amee: Is there anything I can do?
JC: Just you being here is enough. I just need someone to talk to.
Amee: Well, I'm here to listen.
JC: I couldn't even stand being at the house right now, my Grandma Anna was going on and on saying things I didn't want to hear.
    Amee: Like what?
JC: Just the same thing I've heard for years, about what an awful person Carol is.
Amee: I don't know how I could cope if I was in your situation.
JC: I'm a pawn, it's always been me that they've tried to use to hurt each other.
Amee: Well, the least they could do is put aside their differences when it comes to you. It's not fair that you get caught in the middle.
JC: You don't know how many times I've said that, but it always falls on deaf ears.
Amee: Pertinaciousness can make life just so difficult.
JC: Sometimes I'm afraid that I'm going to end up blowing up at one of them and saying something I don't mean.
Amee: I don't know, that might be just the thing that needs to happen.

Over at Trish's house, there is knock at the door. Trish opens to find Joseph standing there with a bag and she let's him in.

Trish: (sarcastically) Joseph, just the person I was expecting to see.
Joseph: I'm over here to see if there is anything I can do.
Trish: Believe me, there's nothing you can do for me.
Joseph: I know you're a little shaken from all that has happened in the pass few days.
Trish: You mean you're actually going to show some concern?
Joseph: You might not believe it, but I care about you. We were married for 20 years, so it's impossible for me not to feel something for you.
Trish: You know that you never could fool me?
Joseph: No and I'm not trying to now.
    Trish: I believe you.
Joseph: Even though Carol and I don't get along, I know she isn't capable of killing anyone.
Trish: Thank you for saying that.
    Joseph: Your welcome.
Trish: You're going to think I'm wrong for saying this, but there is a part of me that is afraid.
    Joseph: Afraid of what?
Trish: That she really might have done it.
Joseph: That's human, we all have our fears sometimes, but it doesn't mean they are always real. Some fears are imagined.
Trish: I've looked at it that way, but I still can't put it out of my mind.
Joseph: The thing we least want to think about is always the thing we think about the most.
Trish: So what's in the bag?
Joseph: Oh, it's just some of that linguine I used to make that you absolutely loved.
Trish: You made that for me on the night we were engaged.
Joseph: I remember, at the time I was going through a phase where I wanted to find myself and lived in that dump of an apartment.
Trish: It wasn't a dump, it was quaint.
Joseph: Only if you consider a leaky roof and a bathroom outside quaint.
    Trish: It was still nice.
    Joseph: Yeah, it was.

Trish and Joseph exchange a warm look.

Joseph: Well, I'm going to get out of your way now, I know you probably want to get some rest.
    Trish: Thanks for stopping in.
    Joseph: No problem.

Joseph leaves. After Trish closes the door, she sighs deeply and then looks out the window watching Joseph drive off.

Yvette has Norm over to her house for dinner to discuss the project, but they are interrupted when Chester returns from a business trip unexpectedly. Yvette nervously tries to explain the situation to Chester, but he can't understand why Norm is there. Norm says that they were just discussing a possible business deal between McGregor and Donahue, before hurriedly leaving. Chester says that he's not foolish enough to buy that Donahue and McGregor would be doing business together and demands the truth. Yvette says that it's a sensitive matter and she can't discuss it right now. Chester says that he knows that she's up to something again and ask if she will ever learn when to stop scheming. Yvette says that they should forget about this whole matter, seeing as Chester just got home from a long trip. Chester says he's willing to let it go, but hopes that she's not up to anything, because it would be bad for the family.

Cody's past catches up to him when a woman shows up at Donahue's Novi store looking to collect a gambling debt. Cody says that he will pay it off in due time, but the woman demands that he pay her now. He asks the woman to not do this in his family's store and to leave immediately. She tells him that if he doesn't get the money soon, he won't be the only one involved in the matter anymore. Cody warns the woman not to threaten his family, but she scoffs and says that he should have thought about that before he skipped town without paying his debt. Trish comes in the store and sees the two arguing and breaks it up. After the woman storms out of the store, Trish asks Cody what that was about and he says it was just a customer who wanted to return something without a receipt.

Henry demands to know why Tyler is in the management office and Tyler explains that he was looking for an inventory sheet, because he thought his department was short on some items. Henry says that all he had to do was come to him and ask for the sheet and ask why he waited until no one was around to look for the sheet. Tyler says that he didn't wait for anyone to leave, he just happened to need the sheet when no one was around. Henry opens a file cabinet drawer, pulls out the sheet and gives it to Tyler. When Henry turns to leave, Tyler slips the disc into his pocket and follows Henry out the door.

Estelle gives Alma and Anna a grand tour of her warehouse facility and the products she offers. All of the sudden, Carol shows up, much to Anna's disgust. Estelle says she wasn't expecting Carol until tomorrow, but Carol says she wanted to find out about the deal she made with McGregor. Estelle says it's just a typical supplier contract and that it's not really anything Carol should concern herself with. Carol says it is her business when her supplier connects with her main rival. Estelle says that business is business to her and she's not concerned with rivalries between companies. Anna remarks that Carol has no sense of professionalism, everything is about getting even. Carol tells Anna that she's not one to question anyone's professionalism, because she has pulled her share of dirty tricks. Alma tells Anna to ignore Carol, because she's just looking for trouble. Carol tells Estelle that he might have to find another supplier if she continues to do business with McGregor and storms out.

Norm returns home and Carol tells him about Cody's problems. Norm says that he sensed that Cody had come home because he was in some sort of trouble. Carol says that she's going to pay off the bookies to make them leave Cody alone, but Norm says that bailing Cody out is not the answer. Carol says that she will not stand by and let her son's life be in danger. Norm says that he doesn't want to see Cody get hurt, but says he needs to get himself out of this. Carol refuses to see things Norm's way and says that now isn't the time to try and teach a lesson. Norm backs off and says that Carol should do what she feels is best and if that means paying Cody's debt, than so be it, but he adds that she should make it clear that she won't bail him out every time he gets in a bind.

Carolee shows up at Donahue's corporate office with a judge and police. Joseph comes out and demands to know what is going on.

Carolee: I'm here to make your brother give me my children.
Joseph: This is not the place to pull your little stunts.
Carolee: You need to shut up and mind your own business
Joseph: My family owns this building, so it is my business when someone comes in and disrupts it
Judge: There is a court order for Mr. Edmund McGregor to turn over his children
Joseph: And does this look like a place children would be?

Edmund comes out of his office

    Edmund: I'll handle this Joseph.
Carolee: So you decided to show your face? What happened, did you decide to stop letting your family defend you?
Edmund: After what you did, you shouldn't even asking for custody.
Carolee: You know what? I'm not here to listen to you rail against me, I'm here to get things settled.
Edmund: Why are you doing this? It wasn't enough that you had to leave those children, no, you had to take it to another level.
Carolee: I explained everything to you before I left.
Edmund: You can't explain what you did, because it was wrong.
Carolee: Look, if you do what I ask you to, we won't have a problem.
Edmund: Then I guess we'll have a problem. because I'm not giving in.
Carolee: Oh, that's just fine with me, if you want a long drawn out court battle that will drag you family's name through the mud, then so be it.
    Edmund: You will never win.
    Carolee: We'll see about that.
Judge: You need to turn the children over now or you will be detained until you do.
Edmund: Go right ahead and arrest me then.

The police put handcuffs on Edmund and escort him out of the building. Joseph promptly calls Anna.

Cody and Trish are at the Novi Donahue store, Cody is taking inventory while Trish asks him about the details about how he started gambling. Cody says that he didn't have a lot of cash, so he decided to try and double what little he had. He says that he got lucky for awhile, but eventually he hit rock bottom. Suddenly, something shatters a window and smashes into a display case. Trish barely misses being hit by it and Cody runs to the window to see who may have thrown it, but can't see anyone.

Dr. Roosevelt is with Lynette at her house

Lynette: Greg, I'm really appreciate you coming over like this.
Greg: No problem, I told you to call me if you needed me. So, have you heard from Jim?
Lynette: Not yet, I'm not even sure where he's at.
Greg: When he gets ashamed of himself, he'll come back.
Lynette: Somehow, I think this is all my fault.
Greg: You didn't force him to leave, he's old enough to accept your decisions and not run away when things don't go the way he wants.
Lynette: At this point I don't know what to believe, I'm almost beginning to believe that my parents were right about Jim.
Greg: Well, it certainly seems that way.
Lynette: I said I was almost beginning to believe they were right, I didn't say I actually believed them.
    Greg: I think you do.
    Lynette: You're wrong.
Greg: Whatever you believe, you need to come to terms with if you want to move forward.
Lynette: The only thing I need to do right now is get my marriage back on track.
Greg: I'm hoping that you can do that, but I think it's time that you realized that this marriage might not make it.

    Lynette looks at Greg knowingly.

At the Donahue estate, the Det. Lewis and a deputy are knocking at the door. Cody answers it.

Cody: What can I do for you?
Det. Lewis: We need to speak with you, Mr. Donahue.
    Cody: All right.
Det. Lewis: We traced the gun that shot B.P. back to you.
Cody: That's ridiculous, I have never owned a gun.
Det. Lewis: Well, according to records, you bought the gun at a shop in Farmington in December of last year.
Cody: I was in New York at that time, as matter of fact I haven't even been in this state for about six years.
Det. Lewis: The records don't lie.

    Norm comes downstairs.

    Norm: What's going on?
Cody: They are saying that they traced the gun that shot B.P. to me.
Det. Lewis: We're going to have to ask you to come down to headquarters.
Norm: Wait just one minute, where did you find this information?
Det. Lewis: The records of a gun shop, plus we found his prints all over the gun.
Cody: I don't know anything about that gun.
Det. Lewis: You're under arrest for suspicion of first degree murder.
Cody: You can't do this to me, I haven't done anything wrong.

The deputy puts cuffs on Cody and starts to lead him off.

Norm: You had better not start questioning him until his attorney can get to the precinct.
Det. Lewis: Everything will be done by the book.

After they are gone, Norm immediately takes out his cell phone and dials a number.

    Norm: Please pick up.

Judge: I assume that all parties involved are here.
    Stephen: Everyone is here.
Judge: First, let's establish the plaintiff's grounds for seeking full custody.
Ben: Your honor, my client seeks custody based on the grounds that the children would not be raised in a proper family environment.
Stephen: Your honor, the children are being cared for by their father and several members of the immediate family live nearby.
Ben: If immediate family includes the defendant's mother, let the record show that she has made threats against my client.
Edmund: Only because she refused to leave my mother's property.
Judge: Mr. McGregor, please do not speak unless you are asked to. The plaintiff's counsel will continue.
Ben: Thank you, your honor. My client also feels that the children would not be safe around the defendant's mother.
Stephen: Your honor, there is no real basis for such concern, my client's mother has never posed a threat to the children or anyone else.
Carolee: That woman practically shoved me when I came to pick up my children.
Edmund: She has never laid a finger on you.
    Judge: Order!
Edmund: Your honor, she's not telling the truth!
Judge: I have asked you once not to speak unless I ask you to, I won't tell younn again.
Stephen: Edmund, just calm down, I'll handle this.
Judge: Does either counsel have anything further to say.
Ben: Your honor, I request that my client be granted temporary custody
Stephen: Your honor, let the record show that the plaintiff left the state and didn't see the children for months.
Judge: Does the plaintiff care to explain her actions?
Carolee: I went to visit my family for awhile, but I did call a regular basis.
Edmund: Your honor, may I say something?
    Judge: Go ahead.
Edmund: She left because she didn't want to be married and have a family I had to tell my sons that their mother left and probably wouldn't be coming back.
Stephen: Your honor, based on this reasoning, the plaintiff should not be granted temporary custody.
Judge: I shall make a decision on this matter and tell you my ruling tomorrow.
Edmund: This woman abandoned her children and you need time to decide, that's real great.
    Stephen: Edmund, just be quiet.
    Judge: This hearing is adjourned.

The judge leaves. Edmund sighs deeply.

Meanwhile, Anna comes to Yvette's house

    Yvette: I wasn't expecting you.
Anna: I wasn't really planning on coming over, I just needed to get something off my chest.
    Yvette: I assume you've made a decision.
Anna: Yes, I have. I'm not going to sign off on your little shopping mall.
    Yvette: Excuse me?
Anna: I thought about it and I figured that if I didn't give into you, you wouldn't have anything to telling what your father did.
Yvette: What makes you think that? I could tell everything right now just to spite you.
    Anna: I'll take my chances.
Yvette: You think you've won, but this isn't over, not by a long shot.
Anna: I advise you to stop what you are doing right now, it's only going to lead to trouble.
    Yvette: Then so be it.
Anna: Do you realize how insane this is?
Yvette: Call it whatever you like, but I will build that shopping center, rather you like it or not.

Yvette opens the door for Anna to leave.

    Anna: We'll see about that.

    Anna leaves.

Over at the jail, Norm is visiting Cody.

Norm: Good news, I was able to get you bail, so you'll be out of here in about an hour.
Cody: Thank god, I've been suffocating in this place.
Norm: The bad news is, the DA is pushing for a speedy trial.
    Cody: (upset) What?
Norm: It's all politics, he wants to get reelected and wants to get a high profile conviction on his record.
    Cody: Well, that's just great.
Norm: I have a private investigator out looking for clues as to who may have purchased the gun.
Cody: What if he doesn't find anything before the trial?
Norm: I'm trying to buy us some more time.
    Cody: How is Mom doing?
Norm: She's holding up pretty well, considering the circumstances.

    Teddy comes to Carol's office.

Teddy: Have you forgotten about our little plan?
Carol: That is the least of my worries right now, My son is facing a first degree murder charge.
Teddy: I heard up about that, I'm real sorry.
    Carol: Yeah.
Teddy: Is there anything I can do? I know you must be a wreck right now.
    Carol: No, I'm fine.
Teddy: Just thought you could use a friend.
Carol: You know, I can find someone else to finish your job.
Teddy: All right, I'll admit that I was out of line for saying that, but if you fire me, you probably won't find anyone better to do the job.
Carol: You'd be surprised what I can find.
Teddy: And you'd be surprised at what I could tell.
Carol: You have no incentive to tell on me.
Teddy: Other than sheer vengeance, no, but that would be more than enough for me.

Over at McGregor, Yvette follows Cassandra out the door and into the hall.

Yvette: What do you mean you can make me an offer I can't refuse? Is that I a threat?
Cassandra: No, I don't make threats, I make bargains. I simply meant that if you cooperate, I'll make it worth your while.
Yvette: Exactly what can you do that could possibly do me any good?
Cassandra: You'll find out in do time, first I need to make sure I can trust you.
Yvette: Trust? You waltzed in here out of nowhere, I don't even have a clue what you are really up to.
Cassandra: I'm trying to set a wrong right, a wrong that your father is responsible for.
Yvette: I know, I know, you are here as some crusader of justice. The problem is, I think you have some ulterior motive and whatever it is, I don't want to be involved.
Cassandra: I've told you my reasoning, rather you believe it or not is entirely your problem, because you would be losing out on the opportunity of a lifetime.
Yvette: I think it's time for you to leave.
Cassandra: What if I told you that my plan could make you head of this company?

Yvette looks at Cassandra with a shocked expression.

Norm and Carol are in the holding cell at the county jail with Cody.

Carol: It's a mystery to me how they can try and pin this on you, you weren't even at work that day.
Cody: The gun that shot B.P. was registered to me, apparently somebody bought it under my name.
Carol: Did you ever buy a gun?
    Cody: No.
Norm: Remember, you need to be completely truthful about everything.
    Cody: I'm telling the truth.
Carol: Someone is trying to frame Cody.
Norm: It seems that way, but Cody doesn't have a solid alibi.
Cody: I was at the estate the whole day, upstairs in my room.
Norm: Yes, but no one else was home then, so there isn't anyone to vouch for you.
Carol: Well, so much for that.
Norm: The only chance we have is to go to this gun shop and hope that the owner can remember what the person who bought the gun looked like.
Carol: But first we need to try and get the judge to grant Cody bail
Norm: It's going to take a miracle to get the judge to agree to that, but I'll try.
    Cody: Thank you.
Norm: I'm going to try and get in touch with the DA.

Norm leaves, just as the guard is coming in.

    Guard: Time's up
Carol: We're going to get you out of here.
    Cody: I sure hope so.

Over in Pennsylvania, Carolee is at her aunt's (Ella) home

Carolee: You should have been there, Dad, you wouldn't believe how in completely unhinged Edmund and his mother are.
Ella: I've only met his mother once and sensed something about her. She acted like she's a nice person, but it all came off as phony.
Carolee: That's her, she'll grin in your face and then turn around and stab you in the back.
Ella: Sounds like you've got yourself in a situation you might not be ready for.
Carolee: Believe me, I can handle them.
Ella: That's what you say now.
Carolee: They are the one that should be afraid, because they've underestimated me.
Ella: Just remember, this is those boys father and grandmother you're talking about. Regardless of the way they feel about you, you don't want to create any problems that may effect your children down the line.
Carolee: Troy and Kevin don't need to be raised with the type of values they have.
Ella: But they don't need to grow up seeing all this fighting.
Carolee: In the long run, they'll be better off, trust me.

B.P. comes into Carol's office at Donahue

Carol: You get out of here before I call security.
B.P.: You don't want to do that, trust me.

Carol picks up the phone to dial security, but B.P. yanks the cord out of the wall.

    B.P.: Don't play with me, I don't like it.

Carol opens her desk drawer and takes out a gun. She then points it out B.P.

    Carol: Get out, now!
B.P.: You aren't gonna use that.
Carol: I will if I have to.
B.P.: You know, I bet your son would just love to be staring down a gun like I am right now, perhaps I can arrange it.
Carol: The threats and the intimidation are going to stop, right now. Do you understand?
B.P.: You know, we could have resolved this whole little matter so easily, but your stubbornness just had to get in the way.
Carol: You are not to contact any member of my family, anymore. If you so much as speak to them, I'll make sure you regret it.
B.P.: I've encounter worse than you, so just to let you know, I'm not afraid of you.
    Carol: Don't underestimate me.

B.P. turns and leaves the office. Carol sighs deeply and sits back in her chair.

Meanwhile, in Trish's office, Trish is at her desk and Henry is sitting across from her.

Trish: I'll be done here in a few minutes, so then we can go to lunch.
Henry: There's something I need to ask you.
    Trish: Fire away.
Henry: We've been seeing a lot of each other lately and I enjoy our time together.
Trish: I enjoy spending time with you too.
Henry: You and Joseph were married a long time, so what I wanted to know is if you----
Trish: If I still have feelings for him? He's the father of my son, so I'll always have a bond of sorts with him. As for anything else, I stayed on a roller coaster with him the entire time we were married, so I don't have any desire to be with him again.
Henry: You know, I'm sorry I even asked you that, I feel completely foolish now. You must think I'm some sort of desperate loser.
Trish: No, no, I don't mind you asking me that. I was worried for awhile that all you saw me as your buddy now, so I'm sort of glad you asked.
Henry: That makes me feel a whole lot better. Makes me think that we could have what we had in college again.
Trish: I don't know, the past is the past, you can't always relive it.
Henry: Well, why don't we give it try? What do we have to lose?
    Trish: Our friendship.
Henry: No matter what happens, we'll always have our friendship.
Trish: You say that now, but what if things go wrong?
Henry: All I'm asking is that we give this a try, if it doesn't work out, then it just doesn't work out, I won't have any hard feelings.
I need you and I can't let a second chance to be with you slip away.

Meanwhile, B.P. is on the elevator going down. He gets to the first floor, but changes his mind about getting off and pushes the button to go back to the executive office. When he gets back to the top floor, he goes straight to Carol's door and tries to open it, but it's locked. He walks down the hall, looking inside other offices, but they are all empty. Suddenly, a loud gunshot is heard and B.P. falls to the floor, having been shot.
