  1. Its been forever since I've posted some of my stuff, so I'll start by sharing these profiles that were shared in Soap News in the late 90s:
  2. Thanks, it was not too long ago I caught her in an early Law and Order rerun as a guest star.
  3. Thanks for sharing those 1994 episodes. The Jessica/Duncan/Shannon stuff always makes me sick and it's interesting that Rosanna had pretty much always known of Carly's existence but had just thought of her as her cousin I hadn't remembered any of that. I seem to recall Finn Carter returned as Sierra to exit Craig out in early '95 anyone else remember?
  4. I thought Lauren was pretty pointless on B&B until they had her working for Spectra and the triangle with Eric and Stephanie. But then the whole Johnny/Rush caper made her pointless again and she vanished for a good year before popping up again on Y&R and wouldn't get an actual storyline again until 2003. James/Sheila/Stephanie was pure gold although I hated they aborted Sheila's redemption tale just to have her go wayyy overboard for her exit. I have to wonder what would have happened though if Sheila had expanded her sights on someone else like Brad or even Paul.
  5. Anyone ever wonder if instead of turning Sheila completely psycho they had a just kept on as a viable villainess instead on the show? I wonder how she could have continued to fit in or if going to B&B was really the best thing for her.
  6. I've found myself looking into OLTL more and more have found it fascinating to watch because my original dismissal was the show didn't seem that serious but looking back some the material has been incredible to watch.. I know Carl had wanted to hear some of my thoughts, so far from the material I've seen in the late 80s and early 90s OLTL's style reminds me of Days and to some extent B&B. I only know of Fiona Hutchinson from GL as I loved Jenna but this scene blew me away in-spite of not even knowing the circumstances of the story of why she was leaving town. I know this has been posted many times in other threads but I'm in love with it, especially Hutchinson and the background music:
  7. Eh, I didn't care much for John and Barbara either I think the pairing grew from their rescue of Lisa from Martin Chedwyn in Hong Kong. I remember feeling sorry for Lisa when she walked in on them sharing an intimate moment. The John Dixon Jr. story was pretty stark I have to wonder if this is why CZP said she felt revitalized when Sheffer took over and later on with her pairing with Henry. In spite of the negative reception and some pretty bad performances, both Bronson Picket and Rosalyn Sanchez both grew after their ATWT roles to have some success in primetime and cable. Mike and Lily was a go until Hensley's return. Funny I've been rewatching Season 1 of Charmed and Shawn Christian played one of Piper's pre-Leo boyfriends for a few episodes and he was horrific, pretty much giving the same performance he did on ATWT and on Days now.
  8. They really did a number on Diego didn't they? From Sam's sexy therapist to Emily's rapist to the international terrorist who "murdered" Damian in a span of a year. I have some Feb 97 eps of the CBS soaps around the time of Diego's murder and during a "Men of CBS Daytime" promo a shirtless Pickett is featured as ATWT's hottie. Ick. This was right before Holden's return which if I recall right was New Year's '97. Paul and Sara don't seem too bad here, and I liked the little bit at the end there with Connor and Kirk. Bianca got a mention later on by way of James Stenbeck when confronting Lucinda upon his return.
  9. Yes it was, if I recall right her last name is Lee and her first is something rather unusual. I can't remember exactly, but years ago I remember seeing in the original 1989 Christmas closing credits an Yod remember thinking how strange, same as the Hey You character LOL. The other Lynn Michaels recast was Beth McDonald in the late 90s.
  10. I'm thrilled 1994 Y&R eps are up now on YT. Its funny that Y&R actually brought back Eilbacher and later Alex Donnelley as their respective characters whereas today we'd probably end up with Tracey Nelson in the role of April. The whole April story had me mesmerised for the entire duration, and I'm glad clips of it are finally surfacing. I actually would have been interested to see Lori and Leslie have returned fully there in 2002/2003 I could see the show then bringing in Brooks Prentiss as a love interest for Victoria after the Diego mess...oh the failed possibilites.
  11. The initial go-around had its moments like Nancy very reluctantly helping Alison, Chris seeing Susan naked("Kim hasn't been seen naked in her house since 1956!") and Alison and the nurse obsessed with Chris fighting but overtime the whole thing became superfluous and goofy for its own good. I don't even want to attempt to understand what happened on ATWT in 2008.
  12. Didn't know where to post this chat transcript but its with Joseph Breen from May 5th, 1998 on the old SOD website:
  13. From the 5/23/98 issue of SOD on Bell's announcement to step down:
  14. It seems that Nina's infamous shooting has finally surfaced on Youtube. I remember enjoying it in spite of some inconsistent writing and compared to today's crap the whole thing is compelling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbNbclz7I0Q&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFTeDOSwPGQ&feature=relmfu
  15. Thanks hope to see these up on youtube in the future! Conci Nelson was fabulous and I wish the show had kept April and Heather around. Nelson was on the show before as Faren's daughter.
  16. Haven't posted much recently but I was fantasizing after getting my GL DVDs about what if Y&R was to release its own DVD set? I supposed in particular if Y&R was ever get released on DVD I'd love to see at least the following three: Summer 1979 episode of which a back from the dead Katherine shatters through Jill's glass terrace doors in the middle of a storm. 1986 episode where Victor let's Ashley have it for the abortion. In 2003 there was flashbacks of this and they stuck me as very powerful. May/June 1994 episode which featured Heather's nightmare of April being found guilty and executed.
  17. I absolutely adore those plates! What year did they come out? I assumed the woman in the fur was suppose to be Dina.
  18. Can someone shed some more light for me on Curt Dawson's Peter character? I know he had a romance with Holly, but I've read some of story there about Peter having a secret past with some woman and killed her sister by accident but ended up getting engaged again to this same woman again with his 1980 exit. It all sounded rather strange.
  19. Walters certainly did have her moments especially during the custody battle and later on when Jack invited her to move back in but overall lacked Donnelley's fierceness and regal nature. Part of the problem is because by 2003 and 2004 Diane was suppose to be an antagonist to all (pool house fire mystery yet then bailing out Jabot with money she got from Victor's divorce settlement) but Walters while competent couldn't carry enough weight.
  20. Thanks for finding and sharing those 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2004 episodes Carl! They certainly brought back a lot of nostalgia for myself. I always forget about Rianna, Alexis Thorpe's first big role. I also forget how much Stafford and Phyllis were so vibrant there 2000-2004. Not to mention when the creepy strange Kevin/Lauren friendship occurred I was fascinated by it as Michael desperately tried to keep secret his ties to Kevin. Easy to forget that Michael was such a vibrant character 1997-circa 2005. Those Isabella/Diane scenes were better than I remembered.
  21. I should note regarding Lisa's introduction there use to be a clip from early 1988 on YT with Jack telling Ashley his discovery of Brad and Lisa and how it eerily paralleled Brad and Traci ie Brad was the gardener for the Mansfield family. It was enough of a coincidence that Ashley seriously believed Jack's argument that Brad was after money. Michael didn't kill Rebecca just like Sheila didn't kill Jay on B&B
  22. That's interesting about Leanna and Lisa being compared together and being on the show at the same time together. Personally I think they should have eventually brought Lisa back at some point to mess up Brad's life but I don't know how it would have fit in anywhere except for the early 00s or even when Sally Sussman Morina said they were intending to bring her back for Brad's big 2006 story before LML ran away with her Nazi relic garbage. Unless we insert Lisa snapping pictures of Brad and Lauren's affair instead of Sheila... As for Leanna, well her crazy didn't seem to be as threatening as the others (Lisa, Sheila). I mean who would be seriously threatened by this:
  23. Funny, I thought the spinning globe closing credits had stopped in early 1995. I know at one time time in '96 they simply used still shots as opposed to live footage.
  24. Kucinich has had troubled primary campaigns before, I seem to recall even his 2008 primary was a hot mess for him. Simply to put, Kucinich was defeated by a 30 year+ incumbent (the above mentioned Marcy Kaptur) who has the exact same voting record as him thanks to redistricting due to Ohio's population loss. I've always liked Kucinich and wish him well, but I don't think I could ever label him as an icon. He made a lot of noise but never gained any traction.
