  1. She also fell out with her own sister who had played Marissa Barton, Diane’s assistant from 1998-circa 2003.
  2. Did Nikki and Christine interact at all in 1989?
  3. Word on the street is MAB’s two sister in laws don’t care for her much 😂. I can’t remember if it was right before MAB was fired or JG’s first go around where Thudley & Colleen threw in the offer to write for Y&R.
  4. Gotcha. The only regret I’ve heard Bell ever felt bad about was killing off Phillip III but that also cleared the way for that era to thrive as well. It’s interesting that Walton and Bergman won Emmys for their roles within a few years , I can only assume Bell & Co. must have felt vindicated.
  5. The funny thing is even LLB grew tired of Christine’s saccharine status and was one of the reasons she turned down offers to return in 2008 because wanted “bitchy” material to play if I recall right.
  6. Haha yeah Danny was such an 80’s leftover in the ‘90’s, although I appreciate the show did try veracity by saying Danny sung “Rock On” and having Danny go be in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. I don’t know what else would he have done otherwise aside from possibly shack up with Lauren? I’m always surprised he was on the show for so long too. Probably the funniest thing was upon his 2003 return Paul & Lynne had Googled Danny and found out he was considered a washed up has been.
  7. Very true. 1990-1994 was pretty much Y&R’s second golden era.
  8. He was widely loathed at Santa Barbara but he was great on ATWT. I wonder if he ever regretted leaving Y&R?
  9. At least for giving him several additional years of story until he was furloughed in 1998.
  10. In the late ‘90’s shortly after Seinfeld ended Thudley seriously considered O’Hurley as to finally cast John Forrester and SOD even interviewed O’Hurley. It never materialized though, I guess something happened to change their minds. John Forrester finally appeared in 2014 played by Fred Willard. I always believed having him write Phyllis calling her “The Bug” was his answer to any fan complaints.
  11. LOL whenever I always get a kick out some of the early 90’s episodes where Christine and Danny appear and all they do is gossip over breakfast and/or dinner.
  12. I wonder what would’ve happened if Victor married Cassandra in 1990 instead of Ashley? I imagine her relationship with a teenage Victoria would have ever been more volatile.
  13. Sheila is so glamorous here too! Scott was indeed mediocre, Lauren deserved so much better. Barton did decent years later on Sunset Beach but they did killed his character off just as he became interesting.
  14. LOL well to me she was my first Ashley can’t change that.
  15. Remember when that was the only complaint about the show?
  16. I didn’t realize this was from August 1 1987, the height of their triangle made TV Guide:
  17. Thanks for clearing that up! I do recall several years ago someone had shared Digest photos 1986(or 1985?) mentioning that he left for a while. I'm not sure how long. The show had a goodbye party and everything - if I can find the photos I'll post them. I guess he wanted to try his luck elsewhere. They mention a TV movie he was in for CBS which apparently didn't do very well, or was given a bad timeslot. It was such an amazing gothic scene made even better with ED’s and MTS’ big late 80s hairstyles they both looked gorgeous as did EB. Jennifer Karr’s Ellen looked like a mom from from some syndicated sitcom of the 80s, was she in anything else at all? By the way, when did Phillip’s drinking problem start? I always assumed it was fatherhood that did him, guess it was way earlier than that.
  18. The details are little hazy but it was based off some insanity plea bargain or something, not to mention Jack would end up being gone for a good portion of late 1986 as Lester left the show.
  19. Well I knew she had an affair with Jack when he was forced to do community service at the shelter with but I had no idea she was ever involved with John!
  20. From what recall reading from way back is Hall tried having a Princess Di style hairdo/look/makeover in 1982, it doesn’t age well at all.
  21. Yeah Cole seem so awkward in a role once played by McCook. I do feel bad for DC though considering how his life was marred by tragedy later on, he never found breakout success in either prime time or daytime.
  22. I thought she couldn’t stand Leslie being so weak either but oddly found Lorie easier to work with. Such a fascinating story for real though I wonder if someone watching Y&R during those years could have predicted how Vanessa would go out or that everyone in this ep but Victor, Nikki, and Douglas would be gone within a year’s time. Vanessa aside, Douglas, Nikki and Victor were definitely the highlight and not the lowlight IMO. Their scenes were so fun and fantastic to watch glad to finally see it play out especially between Victor and Nikki.
  23. Been looking for Annie’s fantasy starting at 22:30 for the longest as all I remembered was a pregnant Reva LOL Watros is on fire here:
  24. LMAO, can you imagine Katherine,Liz Foster and Mary Williams gathering around a table in Mary’s kitchen to discuss and gossip about Ashley Abbott having relations with Victor over a pot of coffee? These ladies never mellowed over time on Y&R or B&B they became more bitter and spiteful! Aside from Liz Foster, it’s funny that then far majority the Y&R characters have never had good mothers to look up to. We saw this from Jennifer Brooks to Joanna Manning to Lillie Belle Barber, Doris Collins, and Lydia Summers. 🙃 😂
