  1. For such a crafty player, Schwartzman is playing so stupidly against Raonic, whose serve is totally off. When you have three break points against a servebot, you have to seize your opportunities. And stop it with the dropshots.

Dimitrov losing the first set to Chardy??  Really Dimitrov??

I hope Khachanov beats Anderson if not I hope Kevin plays Berdych, his kryptonite. He has a losing record against. I wonder how the louder cheap version of Nadal Anderson will play against Berdych?

    I hope Coric beats Sock.....

And I hope Kokkinakis beats Verdasco.....

And hoping the rest of the Trumpsters lose tomorrow.

    Chardy just beat him. Sheesh.

  3. Venus gutted out a three-set win because she’s a far superior player to Bertens, but I can’t help but think she’ll pay for that long match down the line. She plays Konta (who’s had cakewalk matches thus far) tomorrow.

The men’s matches tomorrow look semi-interesting:

    Kyrgios/Fognini (oh the potential drama)

    Johnson/PCB

    Kokkinakis/Verdasco

    Zverev/Ferrer

    Khachanov/Anderson

    Coric/Sock

    Chung/Sousa

    Berdych/Tiafoe

    Querrey/Shapovalov

  4. Looks like Konta might be back in form, with relatively easy wins over two Belgians so far in Miami. She was in danger of falling severely in the rankings because of her title last year and all of the points she’d need to defend.

I always feel like that I just don't want to say it

I remember when he was on China Beach and I thought he did a decent job. Soaps really did not seem to be his forte. I still don't know how he lasted so long. Clearly viewers liked him more than I did.

I’ve seen him look halfway decent over the years, and he’s not a bad actor, but whatever was going on with him styling- and performance-wise on Y&R wasn’t working for him.

TC just played the news conference and they(TC) must be viewing social media because they said Roger wasn't being saltaaay/rude. Lawd....so glad Roger isn't playing the clay court season. Even John Wortham sp? wrote a piece on why Roger should play the French...I didn't even bother reading it.

Ha. Just watched that. Gimelstob is whatever.

  7. He’s asked if he’s come to a decision on the clay season, and he answers that he’s already made the decision to not play. Another journalist asks, “So no French?” And Roger answers, “That’s what I just said. Clay is the French,” with an awkward laugh and a sneer. Dumb question, yes, but saltaaaay.

What did he say? The video is not playing for me.

Eh Kokkinakis is good. He has been injured a lot thus his ranking so low. He has game. Roger is looking shaky as of late. He lost to Juan Martin. He should've lost to Borna and now lost to Kokkinakis. I hope this loss shuts up the TC crew about him playing the clay court season.

He just confirmed in his presser that he’s skipping clay.

Nadal has a TON of clay points to defend, so his stint at No. 1 could be short-lived.

    :D

Insanity. And Rafa retakes No. 1 without lifting a finger. I suppose Roger was overdue for a Donskoy-like defeat. (Although I recognize that Kokkinakis has been seen as a rising talent for a while now. His injuries just got in the way.)

TC was just talking about it. It is ridiculous and Puig thanked the crowd for the support. She had to have heard what was being said too. Shame on Puig. She only does well when the crowd is 100% for her. Thus the Olympic gold...she sucks pretty much most of the rest of the time.

Even in the match with Tiafoe and Edmund the fans are yelling its time to break right before Edmund serves...such low class fans in Miami.

We saw that last year in Miami with the Federer supporters in the match against Kyrgios. Such ugliness.

  11. Monica Puig came back from getting bageled in the first set to beating Caroline Wozniacki in three sets.

Does she have another Rio-like run in her? She faces Sakkari next (who can be tough) and the winner of Collins/Vekic in Venus’s quarter of the draw.

This is why I flove Julianne Moore so much . She always mentions her time on ATWT and did so recently in her segment on the View about a couple of months ago. Hell she even returned to show at its end.

I remember when she mentioned it in her SAG speech during her award season run for to Oscar for “Still Alice,” and some comedian mocked her for it afterwards. She is so unbothered.

    Novak loses first match again.

Kei escaped a first set tie breaker and won the set....he has fallen to #38 in the world.:o

Kei just won in three over Millman. He’s one of my favorites as you know, so I hope he has a long run in him, but these marathon matches aren’t going to help.

  14. I had a feeling Novak would lose. He, like Serena, has a lot of work to do to get back to where he was, and I think Serena may be further along sadly.

Goffin really struggled today coming back from the eye injury. Wow. That’s a shocking scoreline against Sousa.

    Kasatkina also out.
