Between this and the respectable ratings of the AI reboot, Channing Dungey has likely bought herself a couple more years atop ABC. EDIT: Forgot to mention The Good Doctor.

Yeah, people on social media are definitely trying to co-opt the show for shallow political purposes that are at odds with what’s on screen. I have seen a few conservatives claim that it’s portraying liberal caricatures of conservatives.

Not even Will and Grace did that well. I already forgot their premiere numbers. I think it did well because Roseanne still fits in today's world. I am not sure how many reboots would fit in today's world.

W&G’s premiere got a 3.0 demo rating, which I thought was huge at the time.

Those are astonishing ratings in this day and age.

Well, the reboot/return trend will continue with renewed zeal...

For all of Kyrgios’s talent, he makes some dumb shot selections.

A seemingly injured Kyrgios is handing this set to Zverev. I wonder if he’ll simply retire from this match.

The show does feel extra laugh-tracky, like a show within a show.

EDIT: That was actually better than I thought it would be. Everyone settled back into the rhythms of the old show so quickly. And the political stuff was handled relatively organically.

Those first two episodes were great. They really captured what was fantastic about the show at its peak. And Sara Gilbert was the MVP.

Berdych played a shocking tiebreaker and lost in three. Tiafoe is currently on court with his next match against Kevin Anderson.

This Shapovalov kid is good for 18.

But then he goes and serves disastrously in his final game.

Ugh...can't stand Tiafoe or his game. I was hoping for a Berdych vs Anderson match. But Berdych pretty much stunk up the place as usual. He should just retire.

What don’t you like about Tiafoe? Just curious. He seems to have more potential than his American next-gen peers.

I think this is the most interesting tournament in terms of matchups in a while, on both sides. Lots of new blood with a few veterans mixed in.

What a weird, awkward interview with Roseanne, John, and Sara on The View. Lots of dead silences and missed cues from Whoopi and team. Just very unprofessional. 

So interesting. Berdych was outhitting Tiafoe to start, especially with the wind as a factor, but Frances adapted pretty quickly.

Oh and Venus beat Konta’s ass. And Jo gave a nasty handshake as usual. I’ll be happy to see her plummet down the rankings.

Venus is creaming Konta in the second set. I don’t want to jinx it given that Venus surrendered a 5-0 lead yesterday, but it’s looking good atm.

Oy. What happened with Venus? She had a set point, I leave for a minute, and Konta comes back to win it? I just want someone to beat that annoying woman.

I thought for sure Kok was going to win and let the whole that's my fuckin father battle with Verdasco get to him. Verdasco has gotten on my nerves. He has been a big complainer as of late. He is usually just a spoiler in matches and loses next round. He knows his career is almost up so he knows these small openings are his last chance to do something. Thus his angry outbursts on the court over almost anything.

Steve called Justin a liar, and it wasn’t a “haha” moment. It felt edgy and uncomfortable. So weird.

Viewers pointed out the tension and Justin responded:

Speaking of which, Justin Gimelstob and Steve Weissman seemed to be sniping at each other during the Kokkinakis/Verdasco match. Was that just very dry light-hearted banter or is there some animosity there? There are times when Tracy Austin appears clearly annoyed with Steve.
