That was a very good read - I'm glad the person didn't seem to be an [!@#$%^&*], as many Academy voters are in these writeups.

I've heard enough praise for Richard E Grant the last week that I wonder if he's going to end up winning.

I wonder. I haven’t seen Can You Ever Forgive Me? But you’d think the BAFTA voters would have awarded him if he had a chance. Who knows, though? Withnail and I is one of my favorite films, and I’d love to see him acknowledged for his fascinating, offbeat career. And Mahershala has his Oscar.

Lastly, here is my favorite scene of Alex and Sherry Stringfield's Blake.  They're evenly matched like in a chess game, and I couldn't imagine Keifer or Dusay playing this scene.

I love how effortless Sherry was as Blake. She communicated so much with so little. Liz was fine and had a similar smoky voice, but you always saw the wheels turning. She didn’t have that same backbone and quiet power. And she became this troubled, matronly heroine after a while, and that was tiresome.

    Bev was always a joy.

CNN hates America and they hate us, like most of the media does. They only want money. That's why I will never give them my time. I am not even watching their New Year's Eve stuff anymore, aside from one or two minutes at the countdown. That's the best I bother with.

I’ve stopped watching CNN as well. They’re an entertainment network, have been for years. My instinct has been to watch them for live coverage when something catastrophic happens (terrorist attack, mass shooting, extreme weather) or someone very famous dies, but they don’t even serve that purpose very well anymore.
