The broadcast was the most-watched entertainment telecast on TV since the 2017 Oscars and the highest-rated non-sports program since the post-Super Bowl This Is Us in 2018.

 

The 2018 awards hit an all-time low of 26.54 million viewers and a 6.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

I think two black actors have won a few years: Halle/Denzel, Jamie Foxx/Morgan Freeman, Mahershala/Viola. Edit: I suppose they’re counting Rami as non-white.

I'm happy for Olivia,  she's deserved. I'm a bit sad for Glenn though given her losing steak and the fact that she IS one of the best actors period of her generation. I know she’s been developing the Broadway show Sunset Boulevard as a film musical. Whether or not that turns out good remains to be seen. I’ve seen people compare this to Marion Cotillard beating Julie Christie, but Julie had her Oscar.
