Just saw Rachel Bloom, who worked with Adam Schlesinger on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, gave birth to a baby girl today after learning her friend had died of COVID-19.

My college best friend hightailed it out of NYC to his hometown of San Diego with his wife and two small kids. Can’t say I entirely blame him.

That’s so sad about Adam Schlesinger. Loved Fountains of Wayne back in the day (before “Stacy’s Mom” made them super popular).

I totally agree, and I also loved FOTH. You don’t always need to see faces of characters. Sometimes a spinning globe or an hourglass or a speeding ambulance is more impactful. And no need to constantly update.

The View looks soooo professional compared to The Talk in this environment. Granted, Sunny and Sarah are still in the studio, but man. The Talk looks worse than our weekly Zoom meetings at work.

COVID-19 deaths here in NYC topped 1,000 today: now at 1,096 according to data as of 5 pm.

Deas was also great with Robin Mattson over on Santa Barbara (from what I’ve seen—my boyfriend grew up on SB, and was in lust with him), but you could always see peeks of Shouty McShouterstein coming through. He was so flippin’ handsome from what I’ve seen of him on ATWT. What a talent when he was in control of it.

My question: do any of these pop stars have a late-career resurgence like Tina Turner in the ‘80s or Cher after “Believe”? Is that even possible in the streaming ecosystem? Not sure if it’s Britney...

Even Beyoncé hasn’t been a big hitmaker recently aside from tagging onto already popular songs like Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect.” She’s at a point in her career where she’s so iconic that she doesn’t need to be. It’ll be interesting to see where Adele and Rihanna are when they are pushing 40.
