Just dropping this here cuz it’s amazing.

I think they are often still worth watching, and I’m thankful he started this series. He gets good people, and it’s wonderful to take this walk down memory lane. But it’s indeed frustrating to see him so often get in his own way and also not adjust his approach. He’s not very intuitive about when to interject with comments from the audience and when to let things flow, almost like he’s not very present or even really listening. Sometimes I feel like he’s uncomfortable not contributing to the conversation when it’s like, hey, we’re glad you organized this, now just take a backseat and let your participants chat amongst themselves sometimes. We’re here for them, not you.

I started watching the Rick Hearst/Amelia Marshall/Maureen Garrett episode of The Locher Room, and Alan is just so bad at this. Stepping all over people’s stories, not allowing the conversation to flow naturally. He’s not really taking in the feedback. No, Alan, you don’t have to interrupt Rick’s funny story about Sherry Stringfield to mention that Sherry was right out of college when she booked GL.

Glad Judi’s well enough to take part after this sh!tty year.

ESPN is at least available on most basic cable packages. Granted, TC has had most of the Masters and lower-level tournaments anyway, but I appreciated being able to watch the finals of the bigger U.S.-based hardcourt Masters and the ATP YE tournament. I wonder, in a post-Serena, post-Roger world, but I suspect they’ll hold on for a bit longer.

Oh that’s garbage. Get ready for tennis to sink into further irrelevance.
