  1. Best thing about Ross Marler: he did NOT need to parade around in a pair of Speedos episode after episode in order to come across as "sexy." He was sexy, because he was handsome, and intelligent, and charming, and dignified.
  2. I think I read somewhere that Marland planned for Carrie (or one of her alters) to shoot and kill Jackie Marler, followed with a long trial where the truth of her DID would come out, but that Jane Elliot's firing had changed those plans.
  3. Same. I still remember how everyone (well, almost everyone) was so high on Sheffer in the very beginning and saying ATWT hadn't been that good since Marland. I, too, had a good feeling about the guy...for about ten minutes. Maybe less.
  4. LOL! at "country music singer gone wrong outfits." Couldn't have described it better myself.
  5. Hey! I actually know the guy who wrote that article (I think)! He's what we Philolexians (of "The Philolexian Society," Columbia's oldest literary society) call the Avatar, since he was the one who spearheaded the club's revival while he was an undergrad. Good article! Thanks for sharing, Carl! But I DO take umbrage with Sam Ford's comment. There ARE scenes in a soap opera that can be considered "pivotal."
  6. I'm pleased as well for Debbi. You GO, Angie!
  7. VR reminds me of Mama Khan's best gf in that photo.
  8. I know Ice-T said he was comfortable with a supporting role, but I would not mind seeing SVU re-tooled to focus exclusively on his and Kelli Giddish's characters. Their chemistry as partners -- not ROMANTIC partners, but partners on the force -- is fantastic.
  9. Maybe Victor Jerome threatened to hurt the Ryans, either financially or otherwise, if she didn't continue the affair? I dunno, it's the best explanation/justification I can come up with. *shrug*
  10. Could Delia have had a child before Johnno? Yes. Could that child have been fathered by someone else? Yes. Especially if it occurred one night, let's say, when Pat and Delia had had an argument, and Delia had sex with a guy (who turned out to be Jerome) in order to "punish" Pat. However, I have a hard time believing Delia would not at least have been tempted to pass off the child as Pat's in order to hide her ONS and keep her tied to the Ryans -- which, after all, seemed to be her whole reason for living. If she could have faked blindness in order to hold onto the guy, she could have pretended Ava was his daughter as well.
  11. Well, at least Ryan's Bar looked good.
  12. Better yet, he could have created a new character for IK.
  13. I never thought of that possibility -- but you know, now that you bring it up, it IS a tantalizing thought.
  14. I think if he WERE to announce he was gay, he might lose some of the mystique for me -- you know, "forbidden fruit" and all that.
  15. GH probably needed to ask Agnes, though, since she still owns LOVING (and THE CITY) and their storyline included the Alden mansion. But as for RH -- they didn't need to ask, because Claire Labine and Paul Avila Mayer had sold their show to the network back in '79, I think.
  16. I never understood why either. When Bob and Kim DID reunite, in '85, viewers weren't exactly unhappy about it.
  17. Not necessarily. Ron COULD say Delia had Ava before she even married Frank and that Bob helped her get rid of the baby. And now that that's out there, I'm going to crawl under a rock.
  18. IA. Let her appear on RH2 as Lizzie.
  19. Never mind, I forgot about the lawsuit. (Let's hope Ron and Frank haven't.)
  20. The length of IK's "stay" on GH doesn't bother me (although I'd like to think she would play someone who WASN'T Delia OR Roxy). It's the fact that Delia and Ryan's Bar are being tied to such a miserable character, family and storyline on a different soap -- and that Ron and Frank are the ones doing it. For God's sake, first OLTL, then LOVING, and now RH. Can't they just utilize GH's own history and leave the other ABC soaps the [!@#$%^&*] alone?!
  21. This is only a rumor, right? I mean, we don't know for sure that Delia is...ugh...I can't even say it.
  22. As do I. Thanks, Carl, for sharing this article. As Delia said, this was a real find -- and you're both right: no way would the soap press be as objectively critical about a show today. No. Way.
