  1. On the one hand, it makes sense. Democrats know Black women will not vote Republican (especially now, after Charlottesville). However, what they might fail to realize is that Black women could still vote third-party or just plain stay home. I still save money by buying my regular prescription drugs at Sam's Club. However, for the past year, I've stressed a tad more than usual about developing a disease that would require medical tests or lengthy hospital stays.
  2. That doesn't surprise me, or that guns was number two. At the end of the day, all the dog whistles over "issues" like whether one should stand up for or salute the flag are just that: dog whistles.
  3. Apropos of nothing, but I will have medical insurance again in 2018 -- and with a $0 monthly premium. And all I had to do was promise to file an income tax return for the 2018 year.
  4. In that case...maybe a secret homosexual relationship gone bad? I'm kidding.
  5. Dear. God. You'd think Harvey Weinstein was a politician, not a film producer. AFAIC, castration ain't good enough for men like Kevin Spacey.
  6. And I can't blame him. Moments of silence won't fix what's so obviously wrong here. Welp. Somebody had to say it.
  7. Pardon the language, Maureen O'Hara was one ballsy woman. She didn't take any guff from anyone.
  8. Agree. I tried to watch some of the Pollocks' stuff, but I had to bail out. Maggie's story (with her growing suspicions that she was losing her sanity) bordered on insulting; and it was exasperating me how characters like Althea, who was still in the middle of that tiresome mess with John Morrison, had to behave like a total idiot to keep the plot from coming undone.
  9. IA. It couldn't have been easy for Chynna to realize that her father had been such a monster to anyone, let alone one of her siblings. And to have it out in public, with the entire world knowing what Chynna, herself, said she had told only a few people in the years before? If she hadn't have broken down emotionally after that ordeal, I'd have been shocked. I'll admit that part of me suspects the reason why Bijou didn't stand with Mackenzie and Chynna is because she, too, had been molested by John but isn't in a place mentally and emotionally to accept what appears to be something the rest of the family knew for many years. (Mackenzie herself admitted she retracted what she had told her half-sister when she saw that Bijou wasn't able to cope with the information.) But that's just my thinking.
  10. What sort of "bad history" exists between Richard and Harry Dreyfuss?
  11. Oh, God, that was so horrible. At least Chynna stood by Mackenzie, though.
  12. God knows Hillary isn't among my all-time favorites, but people REALLY need to lay off the woman. Whatever "offenses" she might have committed are more than in the past and (AFAIK) beyond the scope of authority for our justice system. Trump Nation keeps accusing the other side of refusing to get over the fact that Trump won and she lost; but really, to me, it's more the other way around. They're the ones who keep bringing it up.
  13. Oh, good God. You have a pervert for an agent, and your BFF is Woody Allen. Seriously, Diane, what gives?
  14. 1) No, you didn't. 2) That's your right (if you did, which, if I wasn't clear before, I doubt). 3) Shut up.
  15. As Minnie Driver said to John Cusack in "Grosse Pointe Blank," there are certain things that you don't do in a civilized society. Robbing defenseless, underaged boys of their innocence and security would be high on anyone's list.
  16. Sorry, if this has been posted already. Kevin Spacey Officially Fired from HoC; Netflix Also Drops "Gore" "Gore," in which Spacey played the titular character (Gore Vidal), had just wrapped filming in Italy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
  17. Well, I always wondered what had happened to the kid from "Brooklyn Bridge." Now I know.
  18. No, you're right. When I made that statement, I didn't take into consideration people like the Kennedys, the Clintons, and the Obamas. It just seems to me that some wealthy people (like Betsybug) hold this notion that a public school education is a dead end, and that public schools are just dens of iniquity where their kids are liable to acquire "bad habits," and that makes my teeth itch. Me, too, lol. If I had funds to donate, I'd donate them in Bubbles' name as well. And not just to Planned Parenthood, but to any organizations that advocate for LGBT-related causes. I think it'd be the least I could do as an American (who dislikes Bubbles with a passion). What is it about the Democrats always shooting themselves in the foot at the worst possible moment? There are a lot of reasons as to why we have Trump in the WH today, and one of them is because the Democratic Party often doesn't have the sense God gave a jackass. For me, the fact that she felt such sadness over having to tell Bernie what she THOUGHT she knew said everything.
  19. Honestly, people who can afford to send their kids to expensive private schools really need to keep their noses out of the public school system.
  20. With all those people under one roof, it must've felt like an episode of "Full House."
  21. Q: Can (and should) the Academy revoke Kevin Spacey's two Oscar wins? I think you're right, Vee. I think they'll probably dump the movie to streaming. Or they might go ahead and release the movie to theaters but not bother with any ads or other promotions. Either way, they'll just write it off financially.
  22. Generally speaking, Berniebots can be as oblivious to the truth as Trump Nation. And they wouldn't care. (And when I say "generally speaking," that's what I mean. There ARE exceptions, after all.) They'd follow Bernie to the GOP if he was inclined to go there.
