  1. Yep. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I almost want Bernie to get the nomination this time around, if only to prove my point that Bernie cannot, and never will, win an election of this magnitude. If they deny him the nomination again, we will NEVER hear the end of it from his supporters. Anyway, that's my belief. That's partly because Biden never knows when to STFU and stick to the g.d. script. Leave the improv at the Second City where it belongs, Crazy Uncle Joe, and just get off the stage.
  2. Why did you disqualify Yang? I, myself, have a very tough time taking him seriously. But, I thought it was just me, lol.
  3. Gary Tomlin, I believe?
  4. Trust me, if he were, it'd be much more fascinating to watch. ;)
  5. 1) She's a celebrity; and 2) she watches entirely too many crime shows.
  6. And then you have people like Schultz and Yang, with their "anyone can run!" attitude.
  7. Quick question: has Kelley Menighan (Hensley) ever had a hairdo that worked for her?
  8. Exactly. In the past, I've heard Spelling was crushed about SuBe's failure; but really, if he had exerted some patience, he might have avoided the hurt feelings.
  9. You know, as much as I love and respect the field of journalism, most of the so-called liberal media's behavior during the last presidential election and beyond makes it very difficult for me to feel anything but distrust and contempt for them now. If Trump decides to go after them, then, yes, they have only themselves to blame. I go back to what Whoopi Goldberg said years ago during a comedy special: if these anti-abortion folks are so dead-set on abolishing a woman's right to do whatever the hell she wants to or with her body, then let's round up all the babies who would otherwise have been aborted (including the babies who were products of rape or incest, or whose births happened at the expense of their mothers' lives), and then let's drop them off at their doorsteps and have THEM raise 'em. Good luck!
  10. Not every mom! No way would Mama Khan have helped me get into Northwestern* other than to tell me to study hard and quit watching so much television. And she was someone who resented how her parents wouldn't help her pay for nursing school tuition, yet helped her sister (my aunt) pay for hers at Oklahoma Banking & Business School (which, by the way, she dropped out of). * I got in -- strictly on my own merits -- but I ultimately chose not to attend, because (surprise!) our family couldn't afford it.
  11. To Aaron Spelling, I think, every one of his shows had to be like "Charlie's Angels," a ratings juggernaut from the start, or else something was wrong.
  12. On second thought, maybe we SHOULD let him run against Trump. Like they say, it takes a thief to catch a thief.
  13. "Aunt Becky" getting replaced on her show by the quintessential "rich b***h," "Blair Warner." There's something about that that I love, lol!
  14. At last! Some GOOD news!
  15. Same. LOL @ HC's decision to run the rest of season 6 of WCTH w/ her edited out. You just know the results are going to be jarring as hell to watch.
  16. I've been asking myself those same questions since this scandal broke. You would think that just KNOWING that such-and-such applicant is the son or daughter of [enter celebrity name here] would push more craven applications committees to consider them over perhaps more deserving (but not necessarily well-connected) candidates. But, perhaps I'm looking at the situation too simplistically.
  17. I haven't decided on one Democrat hopeful or the other, and I probably won't until the DNC, because I think too much could happen between now and then. Someone who looks good today could be undone by this time next week with some "juicy" "scandal" that pushes the REAL newsworthy stuff off the front pages and cable shows. For now, though, I'll say Kamala Harris is certainly among the cream of the crop.
  18. Eh. He's looked like that since Castro overthrew Batista.
  19. IOW, the government is pretty much running itself.
  20. If only some politicians could deliver such strong statements. But seriously. FH says what she did was "misguided and profoundly wrong," so why didn't knowing that stop her from doing it in the first place? (Don't tell me she didn't know bribing a test proctor was wrong. Her actions -- not to mention, basic common sense -- say otherwise). As always, I feel like these people are sorry, only because they got caught. Meanwhile, what about Lori? Has she pled guilty to the charges as well?
  21. If he doesn't get the nomination in 2020, he'll just come back in 2024 and try again. And again. And again. Bernie will never go away. Ever.
  22. I simply do not understand all these folks on both sides of the political aisle who run around, screaming like Melissa Manchester about how there's "just too many people" either here already or who want to come over. Seriously? We're THAT overcrowded? There's THAT many people throughout the rest of the world of whom we have to be afraid?
  23. Sometimes, I wonder whether Trump is one of the trolls on SON.
