  1. Yes. Julianne Phillips had elected to leave the show, so (IIRC) the producers revealed that the Reed sisters' father had fathered another daughter, Charlotte, or "Charley," by another woman (I think it was with his nurse/longtime mistress, but I can't be sure). Unfortunately, I don't think Charley ever meshed well with the other sisters, even after she was recast, so it was up to Kalember, Kurtz and especially Ward to keep the series going.
  2. IA. When you have a character tampering with her diaphragm so she can get pregnant, you're writing a soap, lol. Oh, I loved watching "Sisters" BITD. The writing was so cornball and messy, but I thought the chemistry among Patricia Kalember, Swoosie Kurtz, Julianne Phillips and Sela Ward was fantastic.
  3. I wish DAYS could work out some sort of arrangement with Sony or Universal's music library, I really do.
  4. Am I the only one who never really cared for "Hold on to Love"? I mean, the accompanying visuals were nice, but that song was just a little too John Williams for me.
  5. Believe it or not, I forced myself to watch one of those Great Aryan Family movies the other day. I don't know how Cameron snuck past them. He's entirely too tanned to be one of their stable of actors.
  6. Stone Cold? Meet Dead in the Market.
  7. I wouldn't categorize OCD as "mundane," but I totally get your point, lol.
  8. Frankly, I'm not convinced that "The Gates" isn't just a working title.
  9. I was kidding about hooking him up with Laura - although, you're right, it would be funny to watch DT's reaction, lol - but my point is, we don't need a retread of Jason/Carly, or Jason/Liz, or Jason/Sam. If they must pair Jason with someone - and I agree, I'm fine with him going it alone - then pair him with someone new. Yaaaaaaas, lol.
  10. Back when DAYS still could rip your heart out and stomp on it. When I talk about how music played an integral part in DAYS' storytelling (and how current DAYS feels so soulless without it), I'm talking about sequences like that one. Thanks, @NothinButAttitude.
  11. Listen, DAYS fans, once you've glimpsed the unnatural acts that are Cameron Mathison's Lee Press-On Eyebrows, no one else's brows will phase you.
  12. That's how they choose to honor Lila Quartermaine's memory? A [!@#$%^&*] day camp??? Anyways. I've come to realize that even the graffiti you read on the restroom walls at your local Arby's carries more weight than most of what you'll find on social media. And I don't care about Jason/Carly or Jason/Liz either. If anything, I think GH should really shake it up and pair Jason with someone totally unexpected. Like Laura! Of course, that'll leave Donnell Turner a sobbing mess in the rain, but oh well!
  13. Yeah. Megan McTavish.
  14. So, Biden's pretty much like everyone's grandpa. Still don't see why I should vote for Trump or go third party instead.
  15. To be fair, I think even Beverlee McKinsey and Michael Zaslow would have struggled with the writing on that show.
  16. For some reason, this discussion about Camp Port Charles* is reminding me of that Russell Banks novel where an entire town is devastated after a bunch of kids are killed in a school bus crash. (*Because, let's be honest, when you have that many kids running around, you're not a town anymore, you're a sleepaway camp.)
  17. I agree. Her ordeal with Dan Allison alone should have been enough to send her to the point of no return.
  18. In the past, I've wondered how two of the show's producers, John Masius and John Tinker (yes, Zach's dad, lol), might have fared head-writing GH, since the show's (nominal) hospital setting lends itself best to the kind of workplace-oriented dramas that the two are arguably most known for. I've also wondered how a GH head-written by Tom Fontana might look and sound, but it probably would be a lot like Bob Guza's, lol. Thanks, @DRW50, for the stuff in the spoiler part.
  19. Where is Debbie Allen when we need her?
  20. OLTL: Victor Lord is alive! (Dorian Lord: "Or is he?")
  21. I halfway expected that promo to end with Vivica saying, "Girl, looks like you met The Wrong Santa Claus."
  22. For some reason, I'm really digging the fact that Liz is raising three teenage sons (by three different baby daddies?) almost singlehanded. It's like "Bonanza" meets "The Big Valley," lol. Like, I'm totally fine with Liz swearing off romantic relationships for good and focusing instead on raising her kids and being a cool grandma someday. Because, really, what man in his right mind is gonna want to become involved with a woman who has THREE KIDS by THREE DIFFERENT MEN, lol?
