  1. I think Hannah has some bills she's worrying about paying. :-) I think Hannah has some bills she's worrying about paying. :-)
  2. Veronica and her acting reminds me of the woman from Passions who played Eve. Both are bad. Caught up on this thread... This show is definitely a So Bad You Have to Watch kinda show. I guess that's how Passions was to a lot of people early on. I liked the initial episode. So soapy and cliche. I'll try not to repeat what people have already said... Even though repeating things is the name of the game of this show! They need to get the rights to play Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills" and play it whenever Hannah and Benny are onscreen. WE GET IT! You've got bills to pay!!! And the house is in Benny's name, thank God! You can rest easy knowing the house is paid off! We. Get. It. The constant recaps and the EXPOSITION!!! Holy moly, you'd think this was a 5-day-a-week daytime soap. I almost OD'ed on expository dialogue in the pilot. Amanda, you are the weakest link, goodbye! The way the role is played, you'd think Amanda was 10 years old, desperate for daddy's love. But don't upset her, because you know what happens when she gets upset (is Lou Ferrigno going to guest star as The Incredible Hulk when she finally blows her top?) I knew Gavin Houston's character was gay from the moment he sashayed on set. I just knew it. In fact, at first I thought the hunky rich son was boinking him. On last night's episode in that bedroom scene, I swear I thought Wyatt was going to kiss him. Can't deny the eye candy and love that they have light and dark to select from. Wyatt, Benny, and Gavin Houston (can't remember the character name) He needs to be next in a shamelessly shirtless scene. Sally Spectra! That's it! She's a combo of Sally Spectra and a poor man's Kathy Bates. I don't know why, but I kinda like her. I certainly think she's stronger than daughter Amanda or best friend Veronica (see that? Expository!) Veronica is weak. She hates to see other black women succeed. She knows her son is gay. That 'kiss your mother' line was weeeeird. And. The. Pauses. Between. Characters. When. They. Speak. WTF? The first scene that bugged me was in the 2nd episode when Jim and Peter Parros (p.s. ill need to see a shirtless scene for him too, just to see how he's holding up) were in the office and it progressed so slowly with so many pauses. I thought to myself, geez at least add some background music or SOMETHING to get this scene movin'! It's cute how in yesterday's episode there was a scene or two where someone was at the door and they used a green screen for the outside. I hope there's some on-location scenes coming up. They definitely resemble AMC 2.0 or current DAYS indeed, with all the claustrophobic sets. They don't even use backdrops outside any windows. Instead it's all sheer curtains with light blaring in. Ok that's all for now. I'm watching :-)
  3. I agree those ladies have run their course. All 4 mentioned are unlikable. I used to like Gretchen, but now that I've been watching more consistently, I see how whiny and petty she is alongside the other blondies. And what the eff did she do to her face??? How old is she, and she's getting all Joan Rivers on us already? Oy... Like seriously, when we saw that profile shot of her in the limo, it was like someone was behind her, holding strings to make her face look so pulled back. Her jaw makes a 45 degree angle north towards her ears. The thing is though, Heather and Bucky Beaver aren't all that dynamic (Bucky is brand new, so to wipe her out would be like ousting NYC's Cindy), so with 4 new ladies and these 2, it would basically be a brand new show with the same title.
  4. Ha! Gorga's got the kind of body where you don't care if a certain part of his anatomy is merely average... The man is jacked! (though he'll never hold a candle to my all-time fave, ATL's Ed Hartwell... and you KNOW *that* guy ain't merely average! lol okay I'll stop)
  5. I think they'd be smart to make it a one or two week special. Tamra (nor any of the OC ladies) does not have enough pull to bring in viewers by herself.
  6. New Jersey was ho-hum tonight. When Teresa and Caroline were arguing, I thought there were hints of genuine smiles towards each other, like it was in between takes and this was all for show. Speaking of mixing & changing franchises, it'd be funny if they did some sort of short-run Real Housewives All-Stars where they got all the heavy hitters from each city together on a trip and see if it'd be a giant chit show of laughs or fur flying with all the big egos. Who would the Top 6 or 7 be? And on the other spectrum of the crazy train, it'd be hilarious to see all the nutjobs stuck together on a trip like NYC's Kelly, NJ's Danielle, and ATL's Kenya.
  7. Makes sense to me. What annoys me is when the drama is so obviously manufactured that it can't even be hidden. Like Jersey's S4 finale with that dumb secret that "something was going to go down" at the Posche fashion show and the big "Melissa was a stripper" reveal. Who even CARES if she was, firstly, and secondly, the dude who made the reveal, complete with a Bravo microphone hooked up to him, was SO staged. Jersey just shows to me that you have to make cast changes in order to create new story that looks as least semi-organic and real; New cast members meet, some hit it off while some clash. The same people year after year gets old, their stories have been played out, so the plot twists look sillier than Melrose Place circa season 6. The idea to shelf a couple cities and introduce new cities/series might be a good idea. For now, people still love the Housewives brand. Of the main long-running franchises, I expect Bravo to give up on NYC first because it hasn't been a buzz worthy show since season 3. Perhaps they'd bring on a whole new cast after some time off and promote it as a completely new show. Manhattan Mommies?
  8. Kathy was on for like 1 segment and of course she had to include her superdyke sis Rosie. That hairstyle and blouse made her (Rosie) look at least 60.
  9. You know, I'd have to agree. As despicable as Jill was, she was a prominent face of the NYC brand. Without her stooges by her side, it would've been interesting to see her as the odd man out against the blondes and the newbies. Would love to see the Jewish gals Jill and Heather meet, cuz Heather and Carole don't take too kindly to b.s. and high school alliances. Oh well. What could've been.
  10. Just finished Season 2 NYC Reunion... wow, I'll say it again: I'm amazed they brought back Kelly Bensimon for another season, let alone 2 seasons! They all thought she was cookadoodledoo from the get-go. Ugh, waste of airtime. Moving on... it's so interesting to see how the friendships changed from season 2 to 3. Alex & Jill were supportive of each other; Bethenny & Ramona got into it a couple times; Ramona not liking Alex; Bethenny being close to Jill and LuAnn; everyone thinking Kelly was confusing/contradictory/in her own "Kelly world". Also, back then in 2009, Andy Cohen had a little more weight to him and it definitely showed in his face. Not a good look on him. I started getting into Real Housewives in early 2011 and NYC was one of the last that I caught on to (but now it's one of my faves!) so I just purchased Season 4 which I'll be receiving sometime in the next week. I remember the reunion being absolutely toxic with constant bickering, but I didn't see all of the season, so it'll be nice to finally be caught up on *all* NYC seasons
  11. Pinot Grigio is my main drink of choice these days, but I can't do anymore than 2 nights in a row. But I only have 1 kidney so that's a contributing factor. Whoa this is my 3,000th post!
  12. You'll be glad you stuck it through when you see Jill's hypocritical ass taken down at the reunion. It's sad how she tried to ostracize Bethenny that season, but Bethenny stays strong and has the last laugh. I'm currently watching season 2 and have just one episode left before the reunion and I'm surprised that Alex still doesn't really have any friends other than an acquaintance with Bethenny with the Skinnygirl logo, as well as peace with Jill (ironically). And I'm honestly surprised Bravo kept Kelly for more than one season. UGH! She is so aggravating to watch; not enjoyable at all. (I know I've complained about her before, but that was in regards to season 3). From the way she acted at the charity meeting to that crazy ass confrontation with Bethenny (Kelly's crazed laughing and fidgety dimeanor should've been the 1st sign to producers that this chick is unbalanced) to the 2nd confrontation at Jill's house (which Jill arranged... Didn't Ramona arrange the same set-up with her and Bethenny that Jill was pissed about? Hypocrite...) where Kelly could barely remember what she said to Bethenny the first time around. Kelly was just a waste of time. Once I was into about the 5th episode of season 2 they started including her in things, but they really could've done without her and just left it as the original 5 for season 2.
  13. I'm not watching either spinoff. They sure are giving anyone a spinoff now. Tamra? Ugh. After Nene's, Tamra's will be the 4th wedding-based spinoff. I imagine Phaedra's will flop. Too many spinoffs dilute the brands. Tonight, hubby and I are continuing NYC S2. "Im up here, and you're down here." ;-)
  14. NYC season 3 is one of the best ever. Agreed. I just purchased season 2 of NYC and I'm loving it so far! I'm in to the 4th episode; so far almost everything has been based in the Hamptons. It's mostly Bethenny, Jill, LuAnn and Ramona. Right off the bat, Alex (and Simon) are getting the outsider 'villain' edit. Kelly isn't on much (thank God). My always comical husband came up with affectionate names for the ladies while watching: 2 trannies (LuAnn & Kelly) a drag queen (Jill), the Planters Peanuts head, the dead corpse, and Ramona (she's got a relatively normal look to her, aside from her crazy eyes and the silly way she does her opening turn in the S2 credits).
  15. Joe Guidice has one of those bloated faces that look like he's literally going to pop. After seeing Seasons 1 and 2 reran and now 3 and 4, I can definitely say the fun of this show ended in the 3rd season. I couldn't even watch a full episode of a S3 show because it's only "fun" to watch the first time you see it. That's what I like about seasons 1&2, the earlier NYC seasons, the earlier Atlanta, and all of Beverly Hills so far: you can watch 'em again in reruns and still be interested and enjoy them.
  16. Catching up... Sigh... After watching the Jersey special, I REALLY hope something changes this year. Another repeat of the last two seasons will get old by the 3rd episode in. One thing that was mentioned that only Theresa spoke the truth about: EVERY housewife knew damn well something was going down at that dumb Posche Show Bravo setup.
  17. Me thinks Ramona will join the ranks of NeNe and Vicki as being the last original cast member standing on her series. LuAnn clearly does not realize she brings almost nothing to the table these days. NY can most certainly go on without her. Take their generous offer, Countless; you've got no leverage whatsoever.
  18. I'm liking Lydia too, but she's gotta bring that hippie mother around more often Heather & Terry's "fight" was a perfectly manufactured tiff for the sake of the cameras. Blah.... No wonder her acting career never took off.
  19. I mean... At least with Jill Zarin's one on one, Andy at least tried to appear to be diplomatic (with a few expressions accidentally showing us that he thinks she looney), but this mess with Sheree just continued to make her look like a damn delusional fool. It's like The Emperor's New Clothes and this bitch still doesn't realize she's naked.
  20. Yes. But don't take away Kathy's impressive eye rolling. That kind of perfection cannot be mimicked. The one time I thought Cindy was funny was during that one point at the reunion when Alex was literally panting out of breath after an argument and Cindy snarls, "What, are you a lapdog?"
  21. Back in summer 2011 after NY's finale aired, Bravo let it be known right away that they had heard the viewers' complaints in how NY had become too dark and how the 3-part (or was it 2-part?) bicker fest reunion was so unpleasant. It sounded like their decision to dump 4 out of 7 ladies was due to backstage theatrics (Jill) and viewer complaints or disinterest. After all, I don't think anyone cared one iota when Cindy was let go. Kelly should've been committed after season 3.
  22. It saddens me to see the lack of interest in NYC. Even the hubby doesn't really care about the Big Apple ladies (although he cares more about OC than I do so it balances out) but I can understand why, after the dark season 4 and overall disappointing season 5 (which I turned out to love after the first few lackluster weeks). Seasons 1-3 are basically the epitome of this franchise and anything afterward is just trying to hold onto and/or recreate buzz around this group of ladies. Still, I'm excited to see Pinot Singer trotting her loudmouth, inconsiderate self all over NYC for some turtle time and snarkfests, along with all the other wonderfully self-entitled but low-paid dames.
  23. The whole Heather/Terry bickering is so forced. The things she fights about are so petty and pointless... in reality, she wouldn't sweat the small stuff. The man is loaded and is the father of your 4 children. Shut up or leave. Ugh, she's annoying and this Adrienne/Paul Bickersons 2.0 is a bore. Okay, I'm liking Lydia, but what's winning me over is her MOTHER! LOL Is it wrong that I hope she falls off the wagon and becomes a stoner again? I didn't realize that Tamra & Vicki were also in the wine business. Clearly, this Housewives brand of wine hasn't been a hit like Teresa's or Ramona's.
  24. Pretty sure the blurred face on the right was Lisa. The person on the left was the person that never made it to air. Ramona > LuAnn because Ramona has a much bigger onscreen presence, brings ALOT more memorable drama to the series, has made a new business venture based off her onscreen love of Pinot, has more catchy, memorable aspects about her (from "Turtle Time" to her crazyass eyes)... If we wanted to make a comparison, Ramona vs. LuAnn is like NeNe vs. Sheree (or Kim vs. Sheree, however you look at it) in making the most out of this Real Housewives experience. (Although I love LuAnn's "Chic Cest La Vie" song, not gonna lie)
  25. Oh, yes I totally forgot how NeNe mentioned the need to recast a handful of OC ladies. So so true. And I loved her point about NJ's darkness as well. Yay! NYC is finally filming! Can't wait to see those ladies back onscreen. I think NeNe omitted any Beverly Hills lady as being "boss" because it's relatively new compared to the other cities which are up to season 5, 6, 7, etc... Although I did detect a lil vibe when she mentioned Lisa's name, like she doesn't care for her but is smart enough not to diss her.
