  1. Just finished the episode. Things got worse. -- Mariah showed up at Crimson Lights after her work trip so she could see Tessa. Huh? She said she stopped at home first to see Aria. -- Tessa was surprised to see her, so how did she know Tessa was there? And why did Mariah have a dozen things to do regarding work when she just got back from a work trip? All so contrived. -- Billy left his meeting at the GCAC with Phyllis, only to return and sit at the bar. Why? Oh, so Daniel can conveniently show up and talk to him. Neither of them get a drink and Billy leaves. So why did Billy even go there? Contrived.
  2. -- This is my biggest complaint with the show -- and that's in a long list of complaints. The sets problem is HORRENDOUS. Now we have Daniel and Tessa meeting all the time at Crimson Lights. Doesn't Tessa run Society? Doesn't she have a wife and kid at home? I don't know what the hell she's doing spending all this time sitting in CL. It's all so contrived, to the point where I find myself getting angry about it. -- And then we get Phyllis eating dinner, or lunch, or whatever, at the GCAC while she yells in her argument with Billy loudly enough to disturb the entire dining room. Billy is hiring and firing for a company we've never seen do anything and a company we've never seen him do work for.
  3. I agree with you about B&B's ratings. I do not understand it. If viewers are punishing GH by not watching, why isn't that happening with BOLD? Why is the reverse happening? With all its problems, GH is a MUCH better soap than B&B on every level. None of this makes sense. Worst of all, there's no impetus for Brad Bell to change anything. He can look at these ratings, smile, and continue to give us absolute crap.
  4. 60+ year old Brooke and 50 year old Katie talking about how Ridge looked at Brooke on the runway. So embarrassing. B&B's ratings were very strong last week.
  5. -- GH threw Natalia under the bus again today. All that talk about Sidwell accepting Marco as gay and still not getting acceptance from Natalia -- while reminding us of Natalia's "homophobic rant" against Blaze -- serve only to make the audience despise Natalia even more. Sidwell comes out even better. -- The Drew Is On Ketamine stuff was fun. Entertaining stuff. When he yelled "Body shots!" I laughed out loud. Of course, it was convenient that bar area was completely free of any drinks and barware.
  6. I don't know any more than anyone else does, but I can't let the show off the hook with "they had more pressing issues to deal with." I don't think ANY changes have been made to this point on the Ashley/Derek story. We're calling their scenes "filler" because they haven't been given a real storyline. I also don't believe for a minute that the writers are intentionally sabotaging the white characters as payback for the way Blacks were historically treated on soaps. I don't believe MVJ plays that way. It's better than it was, but it's not fixed. Some fades are still really awkward. I'm enjoying the show, too. Still, I don't think I could watch the episodes twice -- not BTG or any other soap.
  7. -- Chelsea and Allison have chemistry, sure, but I think Chelsea is headed in the wrong direction. Being with a woman is great (although I hate the whole "I don't believe in labels" thing), but Allison is MARRIED. Shouldn't Chelsea give more thought to getting serious with a married woman? -- So I guess Anita really was the Diana Ross of the group. -- The Derek and Ashley stuff was bad as usual. I saw no improvement in the writing for them. Honestly, I'm glued to their scenes because I cannot believe what I'm seeing. The writing for them is god-awful and a joy to watch. Those poor actors....
  8. -- Another good episode. You cannot tell me the Head Writer doesn't make a difference. We've gone from campy to mature inside of a week. -- The Shawn/Jada scenes stole the episode. Really good stuff from both actors. -- Marlena in therapist mode just works. Never fails. -- Chanel walking into the high school like that made me LOL. No security, and she was able to find Tate and Sophia on her own and in a minute. OK then. OF course, they were also able to have an extended conversation. Don't these kids have classes to get to? And I'm not a fan of NuSophia either. Pale imitation. -- The sepsis diagnosis and possible miracle cure is ridiculous, but typical DAYS. And don't get me started with a broke ass hospital having bachelor auctions working on the cure. I think they're using the same Google Machine that they use for establishing shots. Today we got shots of the high school and of Paulina's high rise that were...special. Gotta love it that Steve and Kayla were so distraught over Bo's diagnosis that they went out for ice cream.
  9. Today was complete filler.
  10. Sadly, I don't see any sign the show knows or cares MB struggles with his lines daily. If they did, they'd give him fewer lines and fewer scenes. I realize he has a guarantee for so many shows a week, but do we really need to see him 5x a week? It's awful. Those scenes with Dead Mike were supposed to be emotional, I guess, but they did nothing for me. Hearing Sonny worry about the safety of his family is ridiculous and hilarious when all he needed to do was walk away from the gang life. And yeah, making Gio clueless about his Uncle Sonny doesn't work. I can see him being loyal, but he doesn't have to be stupid and ignorant about all that's gone on.
  11. I'm still watching, but I can't disagree with a word you wrote. Everything on this show is MUNDANE. "Mindful and demure" was created to describe these scripts, which are beyond boring. We've been talking A LOT about the Abbott renovation. That alone tells you how weak the show has been. It's a bad sign when "Cole coughed" becomes the most exciting development of the week. I really think this is the low point of Josh Griffith's tenure.
  12. Awkward photo of Dina is right. That looks nothing like her. I'm OK with that portrait they chose. The only other thing that would have worked is a portrait of John.
  13. New writers always shake things up, but this is a HARD right, and it came out of nowhere. I hope these writers have a plan for where they're taking this Janel relationship.
  14. And more.... https://soaps.sheknows.com/gallery/young-restless-abbott-mansion-redecorated-photos/mixcollage-23-apr-2025-09-36-am-3581/ I would point out that the rooms look better with the lighting on the show than they do in these photos.
  15. Yeah, and the transitions to commercials are still off, too. Many of them look like mistakes. I have to believe all of this is intentional. They want to set BTG apart from the other soaps, but this is not the way to do it. I'm not getting "used to" any of these things they're doing or not doing. Instead of giving us something that looks well-thought out and amazing, instead it looks like a crew who's learning on the job.
  16. We got a better look at the renovation on Friday's U.S. show, and I honestly don't understand the criticism. I think it looks great, and I am so relieved they didn't erase the history of that room. I think it's a beautiful set that represents the legacy of that Y&R look. So many things could have gone wrong with that redesign, but they nailed it. GH has so many more sets than Y&R, and I love that, but I'd much rather have this look than the sort of generic look we get all over Port Charles -- as if every home and apartment and workspace is designed by the same team.
  17. This is great -- and I really appreciate it. It actually sent me to You Tube To rewatch the entire first episode. And yes to your point that Ronn Moss will always be Ridge. He's an absolutely terrible actor, but he's so watchable as Ridge, capturing the essence of that character.
  18. I agree with all of this. Eva, Leslie, Kat...they're all breakout characters not only because of their actors but because they were given something great to play. Jen Jacobs has been given nothing, and neither has Ben Gavins as Derek. I've been critical, calling her Basic Ashley, but I'll say it again: I blame the show. Her intro (delivering the baby in the elevator) was eye-rolling. She was portrayed as Florence Nightingale and it got worse from there. The writing for her has been terrible, and we know nothing about her. Having Andre gaze at her like she's some Madonna hasn't helped. So what do they do? They have her read a magazine relationship quiz to Derek. Are you kidding me with this? That's right -- no phone involved, no iPad -- a magazine. Right out of the 1970s. It wasn't fun. It was cringe. As I've said before, no one could make this work. Even their conversations about moving in together are weird, having no semblance of a real-life discussion. Their scenes seem to be lifted out of a different soap. Because we love/like the show, we go after the actors when something isn't working, and I think that's what's happened with Ashley and Derek. Neither actor is any worse than the guy playing Tomas, yet the show has protected Tomas more by better integrating him into story and with other characters. Did any of this work better on paper? I don't see how. If the writers are aware of the problem, they haven't yet figured out a way to solve it.
  19. I hear you. I'm around teens and they do not drop slang into every damn sentence. Does a slang word happen on occasion? Of course, but not like on this show. I'm embarrassed for those young actors and for the old woman playing a teenager.
  20. -- The teen slang is SOOOOOO overdone and overplayed. Do they need to write it in every line of dialogue??? They're trying way too hard. -- Samantha seemed like a different character today. I would expect that kind of teasing towards Tyrell from a sister who didn't get along all that well with her brother. That's not the relationship we've been given, and don't get me started on her terrible idea for Tyrell to be everything he isn't. -- Samantha telling Tyrell to hit SparkNotes was laughable. Wouldn't young people just use AI? -- The actor playing Doug has been decent, but those couple scenes where he was near tears were bad. That was a yikes. -- Vanessa continues to treat Diego like crap. Every time I think I might appreciate her, she reminds me that she looks down on the little people. Oh, and that she's a ho. We're getting to nymphomaniac levels with her. -- Good scenes today with Bill -- with Chelsea, with Martin, with Tomas. The actor is good at this. But telling Tomas he's partner material? LOL -- Derek and Basic Ashley. I don't even know what to say except that I blame the bible and the writers for this more than I blame the actors. They've been given cringe story and cringe dialogue.
  21. It feels like adults are writing the show.
  22. LMAOOOOOO It's just a plain white wedding dress, and Brooke moved in like like she had a stick up her ass. The cheers and applause for it were insane. There's no other way to watch this than as a campfest. Only on BOLD does a woman in a wedding dress get a guy to rethink his entire marriage.
  23. Thank you. I hate it that so many people are loving Vanessa and Joey together and enjoying their supposed chemistry. The guy is a liar and a criminal and a misogynist.
  24. -- The Kat/Eva/Leslie stuff was surprising and fun. -- Tomas is stiff as a board with Kat. There's no chemistry there. -- Vanessa is a ho. -- The casino stuff continues to be a dud. -- I have no interest in seeing Vanessa ride Joey.
  25. -- Kyle left dinner at the GCAC and then went To Crimson Lights for a latte? Uh...OK. Of course, Audra left the Newman ranch to go to CL. What a mess this sets situation is. -- Cole coughed in the last segment. Yeah, he's terminal. Amy's getting a miracle cure, but I have my doubts about Cole. -- The re-do of the Abbott mansion is more than fine. I like it, and that includes the sofa that so many people are criticizing. I think it works in that space. The archway into the main room is changed, but the essence of the old place is there, and that includes the front door. I did not want to see some huge change like the one done with the Chancellor mansion update. I call it a success. -- I think they pushed out the walls at the tackhouse, too. It looks larger to me.
