Tonight, Tuesday, June 19th, the headwriter od 'Our Days in Salem' will be calling into 'In the Zone', to give an exclusive peak at the summer previews for the blog show, before they're posted here.

'In the Zone' is a radio show that discusses soap operas, music, movies, and everything in between. I urge you readers out there to tune in from 10PM EST. The live link for the show will be posted in the 'In The Zone' thread on the message board.

Don't forget! 'Our Days' debuts anew June 25th!

    Edited:

Here's what's coming up, as talked about on ITZ:

The cat and mouse game between Stefano and the Bradys will continue, as some facts won’t be like they seem. Bo, Steve, and Hope re-team against the DiMeras while Kayla is out of town. Steve is reunited, if bitterly, with Benjy, who may hold the key to unraveling the real truth. Expect to see him featured more heavily and to get romance somewhere unexpected. Kayla will become involved once she’s back. When Anna is back, initially she’s only out for herself, playing both sides. She’s part of the DiMera illusion, but she has no love lost for that family, so she’s helping the Bradys as a distraction for Tony. She’ll look to Marlena when she decides to begin her own investigation. Lexie is happy to be back with her family, but she’s hurt with how she left things with Abe. Divorce may not be off the table. Doug and Julie make plans for permanent residence in Salem. Kate provides distraction for Sami in the form of grandson, Will. Sami backs off, which makes Lucas happy, but that may not last. John and Marlena at long last settle into their new home and enjoy some much-needed romance. He remains determined to protect his family, and so is she. John is trying to piece together the puzzling missing pieces of his memory again. He’ll put pressure on Elvis, so he can remember anything incriminating about that night in the boathouse. Marlena’s sure that what they already know about Steve was enough, but John’s not convinced. He gets so desperate that he involves Sami, promising her something in return. The SEC fallout is not over and with EJ off playing hero to Sami, Kate is left to deal with the brunt of the blame, which doesn’t sit very nicely with her. She’ll get friendly with Tony, who is more than happy to put pressure on his little brother.

The B-Plots that will play alongside this, which were not talked about include:

    Touch the Sky Airlines
Things begin to fall apart for Max before they even get started. He loses the garage and winds up bunking with Nick at his new apartment, only to learn that Abby really has moved on. He turns to old habits to heal new wounds, which lands him a strange, trouble-making bedfellow. Grounded since Max can’t make ends meet for their deal, Jeremy and Stephanie are left to chill in Salem and some hidden truths make themselves known over the course of the summer. This couple isn’t all it appears to be. Jett, meanwhile, will continue mixing it up with Chelsea…

    Nick/Chelsea/Jett
Nick and Chelsea are broken up, but that doesn’t mean they can shake the effect they have on each other. Maggie will attempt to play matchmaker before Nick moves into the apartment originally meant for Willow. Chelsea will lean on Jett for support for a while, until she learns he’s not been upfront with her. Chelsea jumps at the chance to redeem herself further in Bo’s eyes, using it to avoid serious issues with Nick. Nick will meanwhile throw himself into his work, determined to accept his destiny as a loser. Max pushes him to go after Chelsea before it’s too late. The pair will be drawn to each other, but resistant. Abe tries to dissuade Jett from getting involved in Chelsea’s schemes. Chelsea’s distrust for both men will drive some interesting dynamics as she works to uncover a secret plot…

    Shawn/Belle/Philip
Shawn grows restless in the Kiriakis mansion, not trusting of Philip and jealous of the time he spends with Claire. Philip offers to set the trio up with an apartment until they can get things turned around, if they’re not comfortable at the mansion. Shawn is resistant, wanting to wait on word about the boat. Belle accepts immediately. Victor wants Philip to go after them legally, but Philip won’t. Philip begins to look better and better and as he gets the upper hand, a kink Victor has been trying to work out in secret arrives just in time.

With the recent stirring of big things at Days of our Lives, the power that be here at 'Our Days' have made a bold decision: The blog will start anew, and probably sooner than originally planned. Why the sudden change? According to headscribe Keith Trickett, "it was time. There was so much to do work out before the cast would be right where I wanted it to be. There are lots of stories going on now that I'd like the chance to tell my way. And so, here we are."

What are some immediate changes that will be seen? Don't expect a facelift. Trickett seems pleased with where the canvas is now. The character of Jeremy Horton will be recast. Trevor Donavan was ill-fitted for the role, and so our casting department is hard at work finding a more appropriate actor for the role. Shelley Hennig is also out, but don't expect to say goodbye to Stephanie just yet. "We are currently wooing Shayna Rose back to the show. There is a new direction in mind for the character, where she would be allowed to showcase her musical talent on the show. We're hopeful."

For the immediate future, don't expect too many characters to come and go. "As Hogan has planned, the character Of Lauren, who was last seen back in December, will be adding a new element to the storyline with Claire's three parents." Top contenders for the role include Eden Reigel, Peyton List, and Aubrey Dollar. The DiMeras will start to be taken a lot more seriously with the sudden exits of Will Utay and Steve Blackwood. "Their history is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Though they provided certain comic relief, the DiMera family is not a place to look for that. Much like Victor last fall [on the actual show], expect to see less campy behavior from this crime family.

It looks to be a fun, new start for 'Our Days'. Stay tuned for more!

Our Days in Salem Episode 11 – Thursday, July 12, 2007

“Rolf, how is he?” Lexie persists.

“Your father needs his rest,” he insists. She’s curious whether she should trust Rolf, given their history. She asks if she may see him. He allows it.

She apologizes for her insolence, but needs him to understand that she’s so sick and tired of being walked all over by everyone. He asks if this means that she’s ready to move on from Abe, at last?

Jett stops by the Carver place unaware that Abe is in the hospital. As the doorbell rings, the scene switches to indoors…

In the Carver residence, Celeste is sitting Theo down for lunch. Hearing the doorbell, she tells him that she’ll be right back. At the door, she sees a young man she does not recognize. “May I help you?”

“Yes- does an Abe Carver live here?” Celeste tells him yes, but wonders who is asking. Jett introduces himself, leaving Celeste wide-eyed with shock.

Stephanie looks up, surprised to see her parents here. She glares daggers towards Caroline. Kayla greets her mother, who asks about their guest. Steve tells Stephanie that they have someone they want her to meet.

After she asks who he is, Kayla introduces Benjy and explains his condition. Stephanie remembers, but asks how she’s supposed to talk to him. She doesn’t know sign language; she doesn’t have the patience. Steve tells her to slow down, telling her that Benjy has mastered the art of lip-reading.

Knowing he can’t speak, Stephanie remains unsure. Stepping forward to introduce herself, she looks him square in the eye and says, “Hi, Benjy. It’s nice to meet you. I’m…Stephanie Johnson.”

Lexie cannot believe that Stefano isn’t past that. If she remains married to the police commander that is her prerogative. Stefano points out that Abe limits this freedom she so desires, pointing out that she always strays.

“How dare you,” she stews, telling him that he might as well call her a slut. Stefano tells his daughter that she simply has never found the right man for her, and for her to keep going back to Abe hurts everyone around her. “It hurts Theodore, it hurts me, it hurts your mother… even you, Alexandra. Why won’t you even consider it?”

The good doctor tells her father that this conversation is over. She needs to go see her husband in the hospital. He tells her to say hello for him, with a laugh. She grumbles about being ridiculed, showing herself out.

As if knowing she doesn’t know how to sign, he nods and pats her shoulder with a smile, almost lipping a “you too” as Caroline leads him to a seat. Bizarre though the circumstances, Stephanie smiles to herself, as they all sit down.

“There’s that smile. It’s been a while since I saw that, you know,” Steve says, and Stephanie immediately sours. “Oh come on, Stephanie. No one likes a sour puss.”

Stephanie gets up in frustration and excuses herself. She goes over to the bar, upset so she starts to hum to herself. Shawn asks how some of that lemonade sounds now, and Stephanie tells her grandfather that she could use the distraction, and thanks him.

“I’m sorry to have startled you,” Jett tells Celeste, but she apologizes. She says he’s free to come on in. He asks when his uncle can be expected back. She reveals she’s not sure, as he’s in the hospital.

Jett is taken aback by this tidbit of information, and asks what’s wrong. Celeste assures him that he was only in for a procedure. Jett digs deeper, and learns about Abe’s bout with blindness.

He had no idea, asking what the doctors have said. “You know what, let’s go to the hospital, and you can see for yourself.”

Anna arrives at the mansion to see Stefano. He asks about Tony. She says that everything that money can guarantee is being done to ensure he’s out of there soon. Stefano damns Roman Brady, saying he should be rotting in hell.

Anna, who obviously still cares for Roman, asks Stefano why he never disposed of her ex-husband. "It's all part of the game. No adversary has been quite as fun as Roman."

She asks him what his next move is. He tells her it’s about time to consult the chessboard.

Our Days in Salem Episode #5 - Friday, June 29, 2007

Kate is waiting impatiently for Roman in his office. Upon his arrival, she has a few choice words. “You have some nerve, you know. I’m here waiting to get in to see you and your lackey out there is giving me a hard time, practically treating me like a criminal. I ought to sue the damn department.”

He tells Kate to calm down. He’s here now, and all ears. She remarks that for once he probably will be, since this isn’t about his precious daughter. Roman’s glad to here she’s moving on. Kate laughs, telling him to dream on. She’ll never accept Sami as her daughter-in-law. Not even when hell freezes over.

Roman tells Kate to stop talking about Sami, since that’s not why she’s here. Kate apologizes for the tangent, but Sami brings out the worst her. He agrees. She tells him she’s here because her daughter told her that he tossed out the case against Nick Fallon, despite incriminating evidence.

Sami tells Marlena that, without EJ, she would probably be dead right now. No matter what he’s done in the past, he’s determined to protect her and this unborn child. She doesn’t care what his intentions are, she just knows that he can help her in ways few others can, because he’s on the inside, and he’s willing.

“Besides, I just can’t go through that again. It’s bad enough to be raped more than once. I…” Marlena apologizes, telling Sami she needn’t explain her position. She understands entirely. She can’t imagine going through that kind of torture again. Sami asks Marlena why she never talks to her about her life before Roman, and Marlena points out that she’s never asked. Sami tells Marlena that she hopes it’s not too late for them.

Marlena tells Sami that it will never be too late for them. She knows that Sami has done some terrible things. She was traumatized for so long, and Marlena accepts responsibility for that. She knows John does, too. Sami tells her mother that it’s no excuse for her behavior over the years. She wants to really try starting again. She’d like to be more than just Marlena’s daughter – but her friend as well. It warms Marlena’s heart to hear this.

Tony has decided to take a stroll on his horse, Napoleon, out in the gardens, where he is surprised by…

    “Anna.”

Anna cocked an eyebrow. “What a stallion. You don’t look so bad yourself, Tony.”

He jumps down, entranced by her. They embrace and she says she wishes he’d looked at her like that twenty years ago, instead of running off to find himself and sending her divorce papers later. He admits that perhaps he was a bit hasty, but it seemed right at the time. She wonders what’s right now.

Tony laughs, asking her if this is merely a social visit or if Roman has sent her to interrogate them about their supposed bomb. Anna has no idea what he’s talking about. Tony tells Anna he knows she was at the Brady Pub last night, so there’s no need to play dumb. Anna reminds him that there’s no harm in seeing friends and family, just because he forgot he had any.

“Touché,” Tony chuckles, marveling at her beauty. He invites her inside.

“Kate, if you’re here to question my decision making in a police investigation, this conversation is over.”

Kate tells him to stop acting all high and mighty for two seconds, and remember that he was her husband. She’s never known him in a million years to just toss out evidence. Roman admits that ever since the divorce, he’s gone more by the book than anyone would believe. It was his way of getting on with his life. He honestly tells Kate that he had no reason to torture Nick. Willow’s history spoke for itself. He goes on to remind her that his family and the Hortons have always been very close, and he wasn’t going to drag that relationship through the mud unless he absolutely had to. He tells Kate that if she has nothing else she wants to say, he’s got work to do.

In a huff, she gets up and goes to the door. She looks back for several moments before leaving.

Tony and Anna ride in together on Napoleon. Stefano is sitting on the sofa, amused by their antics. He applauds their entrance, laughing heartily.

“And this is supposed to be a dying man?” asks Anna.

“You know Father. He never kicked that bucket with much effort.”

Tony hopped down and helped Anna down afterwards. Stefano tells Tony not to be rude, and to offer the lady a drink. Anna is grateful for one, and Tony is more than happy to oblige.

“Come. Tell us, Anna. How is Roman?”

She sips her brandy with an amused expression.

Lucas let’s Marlena and Sami have their time together, deciding to go for a walk.

Out on the balcony, Maggie interrupts his reverie. He’s glad to see her. She knows how difficult it must be to deal with the uncertainty of the paternity of Sami’s babies. “Word spreads fast,” Lucas remarks. She just wants to make sure that he’s been keeping up with meetings. He assures her that he has. She wants him to let her know if he needs anything. Lucas thanks her.

He asks about Uncle Mickey, and Maggie says that he’s doing well. The pair of them will be taking a small vacation down to Nashville to see Melissa and Sarah. “That’s nice. It will good for you.” Maggie agrees with a smile, saying it’s never easy to be apart from your children. Lucas thinks it’s honorable that Mickey’s always loved them as his own. Maggie admits that it wasn’t always easy. This surprises Lucas. Maggie tells Lucas that he’s more of a Horton man than he realizes.

As she leaves, he seems to wonder if his resolve is as strong as Maggie wants it to be.

The role of Lauren has been recast!

Aubrey Dollar, of Guiding Light and Broadway fame, has been cast has Lisa Jay's replacement for the conniving surrogate who worked Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans [Now Adrienne]) for all she had. Last we heard, Victor had paid Bonnie's bail. Could there be a connection?

    Trevor Donavan has been released.

The show cites that he wasn't right in the role with the new direction of the character. Y&R star Michael Graziadei will fill his shoes in the coming weeks.

'Our Days' re-launches on June 25th.

Our Days in Salem Episode #13 – Monday, July 16, 2007

At the Brady Pub, Steve glances over at his daughter, over by the bar talking with his grandfather. He tells Kayla that Shawn was right about him all those years ago – he’s just not cut out to be a family man. Kayla tells him not to worry about Stephanie. He knows she’s right, giving his wife a knowing look.

Benjy wonders if they are talking about him. Steve whispers something to Kayla, kisses her and goes to leave. Kayla attempts to ease Benjy’s worry, but he feels that things haven’t been right ever since they bailed him out. Kayla tells him that things haven’t been right since he showed Steve that tarot card.

At their apartment, Sami and Lucas enjoy post-coital bliss in their bedroom. Sami tells her husband that it’s nice have him home with her all the time, but she worries about Mythic and the SEC. He tells her to just be glad EJ hasn’t come after him. She sighs, thanking him for ruining the mood.

He apologizes, and promises not to mention Wells anymore, but she reminds him that he’ll always be in their lives now, and there’s nothing they can do to change that. Lucas frowns, reassuring her that the kids will not be raised DiMera. Sami fears that none of the DiMeras will stop until these children are under their influence – and that’s if they survive the stem cell extraction that Stefano needs.

The doorbell rings. Lucas gets it. It’s Billie, who wonders if she’s interrupting something.

Maggie tells Mickey it’s wonderful to have him home from the office. He knows she must get lonely day in and day out with no one besides Nick around. “Bless his heart,” Maggie says, “but he does his own thing.”

Nick comes downstairs, avoiding their eyes. Mickey clears his throat, and wonders where he’s going, since it’s obviously not work. He mumbles something incoherent under his breath. Maggie tells him to sit down and tell them what he’s up to. He says he doesn’t have time; he has to go meet with the landlord of the apartment he bought for Willow Stark. Maggie wonders why he’d go and do a thing like that. He tells her that he’s moving out.

Kate storms in John’s office, where he is meeting with Adrienne. John introduces Kate to Adrienne as the new CEO of Basic Black, but Kate is cold- asking John for a moment privately. John tells her that whatever she wants to talk about, she can talk about in front of Adrienne.

Sensing trouble, Adrienne tells John that she wants to call Justin and talk about they’ve discussed. John and Kate watch her go. “All right, Katherine, You happy now? You have me all to yourself. Now what?”

Kate railroads John for coming in here after being absent for nearly a year and taking everything she did, all her hard work, and completely sidelining her. John appreciates where she’s coming from, but reminds her that her partnership with Austin and EJ fell apart at the seams. If John didn’t do something, the SEC would have eaten Austin, Carrie, Kate, and EJ alive – and only one of those prospects was attractive.

Kate accuses John of using his power to get back at EJ, without care of anything else. John insists that was nothing short of a happy coincidence.

Our Days in Salem Episode #6 – Monday, July 2, 2007

At Bo and Hope’s, the couple is fretting over someone to watch Ciara. Then, there’s a knock on their door. It’s Doug and Julie.

“Daddy, it’s so good to see you! And Julie, oh!” They embrace her, and Bo, who asks how “Mrs. H” is doing. They say she’s excited about the picnic tomorrow. Hope says that’s wonderful, but wonders what brings the pair of them by.

“Well,” Julie intervenes, “Doug and I were in the mood to spoil this little girl. Not to mention that grandma has sent me on special assignment,” which causes Hope to raise her eyebrow. It seems that Alice is curious that her great-grandson has come all the way from Israel to the states and has never bothered to step foot here in Salem – forget on her door step.

Hope laughs, “Gram would find out through the grapevine where our dear old cousin in staying, wouldn’t she?” Julie agrees, and notes that Hope and Bo look like they’re ready to go undercover. Hope doesn’t deny that their timing is perfect. Doug is wary, but Hope tells him that the less he knows, the better – unless something goes wrong. Doug makes Bo promise to take of his little princess, and he does as they head out.

“Shall we inspect the damage, darling?” Julie asks, looking around for a moment. He chuckles, noting how some things just never change. Since Ciara is asleep (for the moment, Doug reminds her), they head into the kitchen, where there are dishes piled up in the sink and laundry baskets waiting to be tended to.

Inside the DiMera Mansion, Anna has balked from answering Stefano’s question. A coughing fit comes around and Anna suggests that Tony make sure his father gets his rest. Tony wonders if she’s trying to get rid of him. She shrugs, saying she figured that Tony would want insurance that Stefano would be all right. Stefano breaks up the bickering, announcing that he is tired, and so he will be going to rest. Before he goes, he tells Anna he expects to see her very soon.

“You are up to something, aren’t you?” Tony asks Anna, whom let’s her ex believe what he wants, enjoying the drink.

At the DiMera Mansion, Bo and Hope meet with Roman. They ask about Anna. He explains that he told her the deal is off. Bo asks his brother how he expects to let his wife go through the gates of Hell without some kind of a decoy. Roman tells him to relax, pointing through the window, where they can see Anna with Tony and Stefano.

“I don’t like this,” says Bo, and he goes on to tell Roman that Anna can obviously handle herself. Roman says he wasn’t going to give Anna the power to squeeze more money out of his pockets, and besides they’ve taken enough chances on civilian’s heads, reminding them of what happened with John. Hope senses some familiar tension, but Roman tells her to just do her job. Bo says he’ll ensure that. Roman leaves, and Bo and Hope watch amusedly.

Billie gets out of her car and digs out a piece of paper. “Well, this is it. I’ve got the right address. Here’s to hoping there’s nothing fun to find inside, for Sami and Lucas’ sake.” She gets a flashlight out, locks up her car, and uses the key Lucas gave her to get in. Just as she gets the key in, someone grabs her and tackles her to the ground. She struggles for a minute, recognizing the voice that chides her for being there.

“John, it’s me! It’s Billie! Let me up!” he does, and he looks at her strangely, wondering what she thinks she’s doing there. She wonders the same thing. He tells her he’s keeping an eye out for Sami. She finds this humorous, as Lucas came to her to sweep it for any discrepancies in security. Se asks him if he’s checked out the inside. He tells her that’s negative; Roman hasn’t let him. She figures it’s because he’s not a cop. He points that neither is she anymore.

Billie recognizes that this may be true, but Lucas gave her the key. He wants to be sure that everything checked out all right. John thinks they should check it out together – that way they’re fulfilling requests for both parties. Since she and Sami’s friendship is shaky at best, she agrees. “Shall we?” she asks.

Our Days in Salem Episode #6 – Monday, July 9, 2007

Steve and Kayla arrive at the prison, there to visit Benjy. Steve is quiet and Kayla asks if he’s okay. He says nothing to put her mind at ease. She wants him to promise her that he’ll keep his cool. “No promises, baby. This dude helped them play me like a harmonica. Is that cool with you?” Kayla shakes her head, but reminds him that if they keep an open mind, they can use their connection to Benjy to get some inside information. “Do you remember how guilty he seemed at that dinner?” Steve admits that she has a point and sees where she’s getting at, teasing her about them playing undercover cop. They kiss.

Officer Grierson, the on-duty guard, brings Benjy out in the usual costume. There is now a glass between the trio. Steve sits immediately, but Benjy looks away. Steve asks the officer to make him look at him, otherwise communicating won’t be happening. “You’re one lucky little dude, you know that?” Benjy blinks, trying not to cave to his fears. “How could you do what you’ve done? I want answers, dude, and you’re going to give them to be. You’re the only DiMera who will.”

Kayla cuts in. “Benjy,” Steve directs Benjy to Kayla, and he watches her. “Don’t be scared of Stefano. We’ll protect you,” Benjy signs that it’s too late for protection. Steve and Kayla exchange confused looks.

Roman comes into the station with Tony cuffed. He tells an officer to book him. Anna trails right behind Tony, trying to get her ex to listen to him. Roman tells her that he’s putting Tony behind bars, whether or not she likes it. Anna demands to know what cause he has. “Disturbing the peace,” Roman says, with a twinkle in his eye.

Tony is taken away, and Anna follows Roman into his office. “Anna, I really don’t know what your problem is. You said to everyone that Tony is different. We all see it. Yet, here you are, trying to defend him. He’s endangered my daughter’s life, Anna, and you could be in danger, too, but you just don’t care, do you?”

Anna grows quiet, and Roman wonders if he hit a nerve. “You still have feelings for him, don’t you?” Anna stays silent, but Roman can read her like a book. “You listen to me, and you listen to me real good. If your past relationship with the Count has helped him manipulate you in some way, you don’t have to be afraid. We’ve all been fooled by him over the past twenty years. Come on, Anna! I can see it in your eyes. Just tell me what you’ve done.”

Anna gets up. “If you’ll excuse me, I should call Tony an attorney,” She walks out and Roman sighs, wondering what Anna’s gotten herself into.

Sami is at the Brady Pub with Lucas, John, and Marlena. Will is in the kitchen with Shawn and Caroline. She has the results of the amnio in her hands, but she can’t bring herself to open it.

Hope arrives and sees the tension. She asks John if she could have a moment of his time. He excuses himself from the table, and asks what’s up? She tells him that she needs a favor. She tells him that the sooner the kids get out of this airline mess the better, and she wonders if Basic Black has any available positions. He tells her to talk to the new CEO – Adrienne.

Sami insists that they wait for EJ. She’d rather get everything on the table here and now than have to deal with all the pushing and pulling that this could cause. Lucas is there for her, as EJ comes into the Pub. Sami invites EJ to sit, as John and Hope return to the table. The tension is thick as the group sits together, waiting as Sami opens the envelope.

Our Days in Salem Episode #1 - Monday, June 25, 2007

Billie arrives at the Brady Pub the next morning for breakfast, meeting with Lucas. Immediately, she notes that he seems distracted and asks, “All right, what’s Sami done now?”

Lucas asks that she stop channeling their mother. Billie apologizes, admitting that while she’s happy for her brother’s happiness, Sami’s history does lend itself to wariness. Lucas understands and thanks her for her concern. Billie asks where Sami is, and Lucas tells her that Marlena is getting her settled in for an amniocentesis, where he’ll join her later. Billie suspects that there’s more to this breakfast than just an intimate, brother-sister chat.

“Come on, Billie. It’s not like that. I promise. Can’t I just have a nice breakfast with my sister?”

“Lucas, your wife has been marked by a crime family. She’s determined to end this decade-long feud herself. You should have your hands full keeping tabs on her, not having a nice breakfast with your sister,” she counters smartly, and Lucas admits that she’s right, and there’s more to the invitation than just breakfast, adding that it’s good to see her.

“I’m not sure I like where this is going,” Billie remarks. He promises that all he wants is a favor, and she laughs. “You’re married to Sami Brady and you want a favor? I definitely don’t like where this is going.” He promises her it’s nothing bad, and she tells him to just come out with it then. He does, telling her that Roman is relocating them to a safe house, temporarily, at least until the baby is born. She wants to know where she comes in. Lucas tells her that he wants her to look it over before they just go in blindly.

At the hospital, Celeste tells Lexie she’s glad a visit with her son could sway her position on her future with Abe. She warns Celeste that she still has her doubts, but she’s simply taking a cautious approach. Celeste is sure that being out of the hospital will be good for her spirit. Opening the door, she comes face-to-face with Sami. She attempts to brush past her, but Sami stops her. “Sami, you do not want to get in my face right now. Okay? Get out of my way, or so help me, I will kill you.” Sami is taken aback by Lexie’s words, but there’s more. “It wasn’t enough that you nosed around my marriage, or that your manipulations cost me job. You know, if you hadn’t helped my brother cross state lines, I never would have been away from my family.”

“Don’t try to pretend that you have no fault here, Lexie!”

“Save me the noble crap, Sami! I know I chose to sleep with Tek. I know I chose to lie to Carrie, but none of that exalts you from blame. You took an opportunity and you ran with it.”

“Lexie, I’m really sorry about what EJ did to you, I really am, but what about what he’s done to me? Do you really think life around your little brother has been anything short of hell for me! Not to mention, whether or not he crossed the border to Mexico, you still wasted precious time while my stepfather lay bleeding from your brother’s gunshot. You were more worried about what Abe would assume about you and your little boyfriend than about a good friend, who could have died on your watch. You call yourself a doctor.”

Lexie looks ready to lunge at her when Marlena scolds Sami, who backs off, apologizing for losing her cool. She doesn’t want to fight with Lexie. It’s the last she needs after what happened to her. Marlena reminds her that she doesn’t need any extra stress, considering she’s getting the amnio today. Celeste warns her that it is totally unnecessary; she knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that Elvis is the father of her unborn child and the procedure will only put her pregnancy at unnecessary risk. Lexie coolly tells her mother than amniocenteses are perfectly harmless when performed correctly. She understands Sami’s need for feasible, physical evidence.

“Now, if you’ll excuse us, I want to get my daughter out of this place,” Celeste interrupts moodily, leading Lexie away from the two blondes.

Chelsea lays awake in her bed with Nick snoring next to her. She tries to gently poke and prod him awake, but groans when he won’t budge. Finally, she tosses a pillow at his head and he falls to the floor with a thud. Just as this happens, Hope knocks on her door, asking if she’s all right. Chelsea begins to freak out, trying to get Nick to sneak out.
“Chelsea, last time I tried to sneak out, it came back and bit me in the…” whispers Nick before Chelsea shushes him and whacks him upside the head, reminding him that they didn’t even have sex. Nick argues that Hope will think otherwise. Hope knocks again, demanding entrance. Nick gets up in his state of mostly undress and answers the door, despite Chelsea’s protests. Hope raises an eyebrow and looks past him at Chelsea, asking to speak with her stepdaughter in private.

Chelsea concedes, promising Hope that nothing happened between Nick and her last night, but she admits that something almost did. Hope is disappointed that Chelsea would abuse her privilege of staying with them. Chelsea doesn’t see the big deal, and Hope tells her that she’s lucky that they trust her enough to let her in the same house as her baby sister, Ciara, not to mention babysit her. Chelsea gets it. Hope is curious why nothing did happen, if guilt didn’t get to her or Nick. Chelsea reveals that they had no protection. Hope is surprised, at first – then questions it. “Is that the only reason nothing happened between Nick and you here last night?”

After long back and forths the past week, and even for months and months, I've decided that, for the moment, my forrays into fan fiction must come to an end. I didn't want to do this, so soon into my blog. I had so many plans, but a number of things have gone into this decision.

I find I spend far too much time on the computer. Others seem to handle balancing a blog, posting time, school, work pretty well. I, however, am very bad at doing this. I'm trying to spend less time on it now. Ending the blog, and an fan fiction writing, is a big part of this. I've also cut back on posting, in general.

Another reason is that soaps, in general, have just become frustrating, Even Days, which has come so far in such a short time, doesn't quite have it anymore. It's better, and I enjoy it for what it is now, but, at this rate, I think the magic is gone. I could be wrong, but either way- I'm disillusioned with the genre as a whole, and sometimes, it just dsepresses me when I write things so far superior to those in the actual genre.

With school coming up, the blog would likely drown worse than it already is. Week-by-week, I've been unable to get a whole week's episodes finished. I'd usually rather be doing other things, things that are more fun. Doing a five-day-a-week blog is so demanding, and I'm definitely not up for it, I've discovered.

This may be my last year at my current school, and then I'll be transferring and my schedule will change drastically. I want to find a different job, that I can better balance in anticipation with this new potential school.

And so, the blog does say good night. I'm so sorry for the readers out there who are disappointed in this decision. I'm itching to write, as always, but fan fiction just doesn't satisfy me anymore. I have the urge to create, to have a blank slate. I want to get out there and act. I need my options open, basically. I'll catch you all on the boards.

Our Days in Salem Episode #10 – Thursday, July 12, 2007

Jeremy has been taken in for questioning. In the interrogation room…

“You know,” Hope begins, “I opened my home to you- my home with a little girl in it, because you are family, Jeremy. Mike and Jenn are like siblings to me. Perhaps you just didn’t know any better, but here’s the newsflash – the DiMeras are bad news. They’re not just a bunch of punks out for money. No, they’re not like you. You see; there is a vendetta between our families. They’re not stupid. They know you’re a Horton. They will use you up until they bleed you dry.”

“I can take care of myself, auntie Hope,” Jeremy says bitingly, “I grew up in a war zone, in case you’ve forgotten. I know how to get by just fine. So, if we’re done here…”

    “We’re not- not even close.”

At the Brady Pub, Bo sits Max down, and asks his little brother what he thinks he was doing. Max said he needed money. Chelsea and Stephanie got him involved. He trusted it because Stephanie did. Bo asks about Chelsea. He says that she wasn’t exactly leaning towards the idea at first… “In fact, Chelsea wanted me to have Frankie look the contract over.” Bo wonders why he didn’t. Max tells him that the contract seemed legit. If not for Jett, he would have been in for one wild ride of a scam.

“Listen, Bo, Chelsea and Stephanie- they’re not in any trouble, are they?”

    Back at the department…

Roman invites Jett into his office.

“I have to hand it to you, Carver. It seems to be in your blood. I just wonder why you never involved the local authorities…”

He tells Roman that, no offense, but his investigation was too important to trust a foreign police department. One of the reasons he became a cop was because of on-going problem of corruption and abuse of power. He had to do this his way. Roman respects this, but points out that he was quick to tell Max exactly what was going on.

    Back at the Pub…

Bo insists that the girls are fine. They weren’t up to their necks in the behind the scenes stuff. Max sighs, grateful that they’ll be spared. So is Bo, admittedly. The last thing Chelsea needs is more trouble, and Steve and Kayla need nothing if a break from it, too.

Bo wonders, though: “Max, you’re a good kid. What was wrong with the garage?”

Hope smiles, asking if Jeremy is scared. Jeremy puts up his best front, but she sees right through him.

“You were getting money out of this venture, but the question is, what was the DiMera family getting out of this? Was it just another game with another witless family member? They had an agenda too, Jeremy, and you, my dearest cousin, are going to help me find out what it is. Unless, of course, you’d rather spending some quality time with the big boys —behind bars.”

Max admits that he missed the thrill of racing. Bo asks why he doesn’t go back. He tells him that he doesn’t want to put himself out there like that, not after the accident. Bo reminds him “there are plenty of real good professions out there that can feed your taste for danger. In fact, if you’re so worried about the DiMeras, maybe you should look into the, uh, family ‘business’”

Max laughs. He asks if Bo seriously thinks he could be a cop. Bo says he certainly has the street smarts. He just wants Max to promise that he won’t do something this stupid again. He does, and Bo leaves. Max let’s Bo’s suggestion roll off his back.

In Roman’s office, Jett insists that he wanted the investigation to be as clean cut as it could be. He could tell that Max was the kind of guy who could help him out- someone on the outside, with the right smarts.

Roman admits that Jett is right. Max would probably make a damned good cop. He tells Jett that he’s lucky he has such good instincts. “It’s like you said- it’s in my blood,” smiles Jett.

Hope puts Jeremy on the spot. He says that he’ll do it, but wonders what’s in it for him.

“No jail time,” Hope promises. “Do we have a deal?” Reluctantly, Jeremy and Hope shake on it.

Our Days in Salem Episode #16 – Thursday, July 19, 2007

At Basic Black Adrienne is meeting with Anna, who informs her of Kate’s attitude. She knows that Basic Black wants her designs, but she doesn’t want to have to deal with such hostility. Adrienne assures her that she won’t need to.

Anna finds this reassuring, but is curious as to how she can promise this. Adrienne tells her that Kate won’t be attached to this project. Anna’s not so sure that will be enough.

Meanwhile, Kate shows up on the doorstep of the Kiriakis Mansion. Henderson welcomes her inside, treating as if she were still married to Victor.

Belle comes down the stairs with Claire, and Kate is glad to play doting grandmother for a moment. Belle allows it, even though Philip isn’t Claire’s biological kid and how Kate was involved in keeping the secret. Kate is glad Belle is there, because she wants to talk to her about Basic Black.

She admits that she’s getting restless now that things have begun to settle once again, but she tells Kate she couldn’t possibly take on anything full time right now. Kate says that she’ll arrange for something on her terms, if she’ll agree to come back.

At the Pub, Caroline greets Celeste and Lexie and takes them upstairs to see Benjy. Celeste introduces Lexie to her brother, telling her not to be too hasty. Benjy embraces Lexie like a brother should and asks Celeste not to treat him like a child, or an invalid. She apologizes, understanding that the DiMera ego remains intact. The mention of the name seems to frighten Benjy.

“Benjy, darling. They called me here, because of you. Now, please, let me help you. What has you so frightened? What has your father, or Antony, or Elvis- what have they done to put you in this state.”

Crossing his heart, Benjy sighs and signs something to Celeste that makes her understand.

Stefano is looking through a photo album. In it, there are photographs of all of his children. He tears up at a photograph of Renée, reminded of the mistake her made with André. He continues a moment of mournful sadness as he looks over Megan, Kristen, and Peter. As he turns the page, the few children still relevant in his life are presented to him: Tony, Elvis, Benjy, and Lexie.

“What have I done to my own family,” Stefano wonders, shaking his head, and remembering Lexie’s harsh words. “Bo and Hope have yet to pay a price heavy enough by my hand to know what it meant for me to lose my dear Megan…” He glances at a photograph of Renée and grows angry. “I was such a fool then. My Tony loved you so, my darling Renée. My ego and agenda proved to be your end. You fell like a pawn off my chess board- my own daughter, and all because you knew I was alive. If only I had gotten to André before… oh, but what use is this thinking now? You are gone, gone now twenty-three years. Tony has never been the same. I could blame Daphne,” Stefano laughs at the memory of his common-law wife, “but she only did what she saw best. All part of the game. I tried so hard to replace you. I adopted children, I sired new ones, and for what, hmm? Peter is in prison. Kristen is dead. Antony is ever being investigated. Benjamin is terrified of me. Alexandra loathes me… and Elvis, well, he may not be trustworthy. Is this all that is left of my legacy? Where did I go so wrong!”

Our Days in Salem Episode #4 - Thursday, June 28, 2007

Lucas and Sami tell Marlena they know that her carrying twins could mean double trouble, with either Lucas or EJ being the father of the kids. Marlena sheds some light on a far more bizarre possibility, making the couple realize that each kid may have a different father.

Sami says it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but Marlena assures them that there are real cases. While it’s rare, she says, it can happen if the pregnant party in question has sex with two men in a close enough interval. Sami admits that she slept with Lucas only a few short hours before the beam fell on him and went looking for help, finding EJ in Lexie’s car.

Marlena reflects on that for a moment, asking Sami if she’d reconsider pressing charges against EJ for the rape.

“Katie, what seems to be the problem?” Kate looks up to see this blond woman she doesn’t know on Roman’s arm. The two women size each other up and greet each other cordially, if with an equal distrust. Roman explains that this is his first wife, Anna. “Carrie’s mother,” recalls Kate. Roman confirms this and introduces Kate as his most recent ex. Anna finds it intriguing that she and this woman already seem to have so much in common. Kate’s not so sure she wants to get to know Anna.

Roman clears his throat, reiterating his question. Kate says that she needs to talk to him in his office. “Sounds important,” Roman chuckles, and Kate tells him that it is. He tells her to go into his office and he’ll be with her shortly.

“You sure can pick them, Roman,” Anna remarks. He scolds her playfully and she kisses him on the cheek before heading out the door.

Elvis pauses before answering his father.

“No, Father. I’d never do anything to go against this family. It is Tony who has done that, and it is Tony who I will continue to work against him until he’s given up his insane vendetta against me.”

Stefano is disappointed. EJ knows Stefano wants him to strike even ground with his brother, and he’s tried and tried harder. He promises that as long as Tony forges on, he will do whatever is necessary to protect his personal interests. Stefano takes this as confirmation that Anna’s not as innocent as he claimed, but EJ says no, informing his father that Sami will be kept in a safe house until she gives birth. He has no reason to protect the Bradys. Stefano, of course, finds this tidbit of information quite interesting.

Our Days in Salem Episode #8 – Tuesday, July 10, 2007

At the police department, Roman, still milling over his conversation with Anna, looks up as a knock comes to his door.

Kayla drags Steve in, and they are discussing Benjy amongst themselves. Roman whistles to get their attention. He wants to know ‘what da hell’ is going on.

“It’s simple, Commander. You the dude your people found at the Samsters little safe-house?”

    “Benjy.”

“Well,” Kayla cuts in, “he’s trying to convince us that he is a victim of Stefano’s.”

“Oh my God,” whispers Sami looking over at John and Marlena from across the booth they share at the Brady Pub, with tears in her eyes. “I… excuse me.”

She gets up and goes behind the bar and up into the house, after a wordless conversation of understanding with Caroline. She rushes over to the table, and orders EJ to leave. He has just finished reading the report. He looks up into Caroline’s face and snarls.

“Whether your lot likes it or not, I’m stuck with you. Those children are mine, just as your dearest “Frankie” predicted,” he says to Caroline referring to Caroline’s pet name for Celeste.

Shawn (D) comes down the stairs of the Kiriakis Mansion, dressed for an interview. He looks for Belle, but can’t find her. Stepping out onto the patio, he sees Philip, Belle, and Claire sharing the pool like a family. He stops short, ready to just turn around and leave until Belle spots him.

She climbs out (with Philip watching with subtlety while he holds Claire) and goes to hug Shawn, but he reminds her that she’s all wet. She’s rubbed the wrong way by his reaction, though she understands. Shawn waves to Claire. He tells Belle that after he gets back, the three of them have to have a little chat. He swears he doesn’t have time to get into details now, or he’ll be late. He kisses her cheek. Philip wishes him luck, as he leaves.

Philip notices Belle’s looking a little out of sorts. He asks her to take Claire for a moment, as he climbs out of the pool. He says he’ll put her down for her nap, if that’s okay with her. Belle tells him it’s fine, still seeming dejected and preoccupied.

Meanwhile, Caroline is furious at EJ’s pompous insinuations.

“Family is not your ticket to disturb my restaurant. I suggest you leave, Mr. Wells.” Caroline turns on her heels and goes into the kitchen. Lucas resonates Caroline’s sentiment, telling him that he and Sami are moving to a safe-house until the babies are born, and then, no matter what the test says, HE, not EJ, will raise these children.

“Over my dead body,” proclaims EJ vehemently, to which Lucas warns his foe not to tempt him. EJ proceeds to goad Lucas, reminding him that Hope is a cop, who shouldn’t ignore such an obvious threat on his life just because her cousin uttered the words.

Hope smartly puts the Brit in his place. “Elvis, if you were smart, you wouldn’t try to use such tactless tactics to get the Salem PD on your side. You raped my niece in a car that wasn’t yours to drive. You shot my good friend, John, and proceeded to manipulate another, Steve, to remove his kidney, to prolong the life of the vilest criminal to cross paths with my department. So, nice try. Better luck next time. Oh- and get out, or I will bring you in on charges of trespassing, among any other fun things I can dream up. Capiche?”

Steve reminds Kayla how Benjy, too, manipulated them. She points out that Benjy never lied. Steve can’t refute this. Roman says that there could be a way to get to the bottom of this. Under normal circumstances, he’d bringing in someone from the force that knows sign language, but since the two of them have that close bond with Benjy, he might break easier.

Kayla tells her brother that Benjy can read lips now, but he can only communicate through sign language. Steve said it came back to him like riding a bicycle, so whatever they want to try is golden. Roman tells them that the deal is this: “I’ll release him into your custody. Pretend that you’ve bailed him out, lull him into a sense of security. Make him feel guilty for what he did.”

Steve says that’s crazy enough to work.

Then, Anna comes in, wondering if she’s interrupting.

Steve and Kayla were just leaving. Roman asks if he can help Anna. She just wanted to be polite and say goodbye, letting him know that Tony’s lawyer would be arriving shortly. Roman doesn’t buy it, and wonders why she’s doing so much for a man that isn’t whom she fell in love with anymore. Anna claims she never said that, thanks Roman for putting words in her mouth, and turns to leave, but Roman grabs her arm. He thinks he got to her earlier, and that she’s ready to talk- but scared, like Sami said.

“Believe what you want, Roman. But I’m leaving. See you around,” She leaves and he slams his fist on the desk, sure that he was onto her, but unable to do anything more. He remarks that she’s just as slippery as ever.

John follows EJ outside, and the youngest DiMera laughs, wondering if he needs an escort. John warns EJ that he will pay for what he did to him. Elvis reminds John that he doesn’t remember, but John promises that he will. EJ scoffs.

John tells him he could make it easy on him and just tell him. Elvis laughs, telling John he’s quite the comedian. John reminds EJ about the knife. He tells John that it’s been fun, but he has a property to get his arse off of, excusing himself.

Philip returns from upstairs, donning a shirt. He finds Belle in the study, pouring over a book. He asks if she’s all right. She claims to be fine, without looking him in the eye. He takes the book, and asks her to look at him. She does, soured that he’s being so demanding. All he wants is for her to talk to him. She can trust him.

She tells him that Shawn’s not so sure. He asks if she’s suddenly become a damsel in distress who needs a man to tell her what to believe. She’s offended, but he tells her he’s just trying to make a point. She sees it, but Shawn has his reasons for distrusting Philip. He understands, but Belle did let him take Claire upstairs. Belle pauses. He knows that she doesn’t believe that he’s the monster Shawn wants her to believe.

Belle gets up, uncomfortable with the conversation. “Look, Belle, I know this is a lot to ask, but all I want is your friendship again. You need to be able to talk to someone without feeling like you’re going to hit a brick wall. No strings.” She looks at him warily, but hugs him, feeling tentative.

Our Days in Salem Episode #14 – Tuesday, July 17, 2007

    At the Brady Pub…

Benjy asks Kayla why he should believe she and Steve are helping him after what he’s done. Kayla tells him that they will always love him like a son, no matter what Stefano makes him do to try and hurt them. Benjy flinches when Kayla places her hand on his, pulling back. Benjy doesn’t believe a word she says. He knows something isn’t right.

Steve arrives at Basic Black and sees his sister, just off the phone from Justin. He wonders what she’s doing here. “Well, big brother, it just so happens that I’m sticking around town for a while, and this is my operation.” He congratulates Adrienne, but wonders about John. She explains that he wants to focus on his life while he still can, and help with the DiMera investigation, so he needed someone he can trust. Steve wonders about “the Roberts broad” and Adrienne says that after the TV station scandal, he doesn’t trust Kate.

    Meanwhile...

Kate isn’t taking this sitting down. She’s outraged that she was overlooked. John assures her that she still has a job. She reminds him that she kept the company above ground while he played detective and can’t believe he’s going to let one mistake influence his decision. He tells her that a little mistake would be one thing, but the damage her one mistake caused gave him just cause to not give her that much power again.

This causes Kate to storm out of the office.

Billie stands in the doorway at Sami and Lucas’ apartment. “Well, little brother, are you going to invite me in?” He does so, and wonders what she’s doing here. She has the results of her sweep.

Sami comes out and is surprised to see Billie. Lucas explained that he asks his ex-cop sister to investigate the safe-house. There are too many horror stories of people putting their trust in a public service only for there to be spies from the enemy right under their nose. Billie tells them about Benjy Hawk being found, presumably as a spy.

“I’m not understanding this. The guy’s deaf and a mute. Why would the DiMeras send him to keep watch?”

Kayla tells Benjy that this trust issue goes both ways. Steve and she are only being cautious. He’s sure there’s something she won’t tell him, and as long as there are secrets, he’s not going to tell them anything. They can promise protection to the sky’s limit and he won’t believe them unless they’re straight with him.

Kayla tries to reason with him, saying that she has nothing to hide and neither does Steve. Benjy tells her that her word simply isn’t good enough anymore.

“Speak of the she-devil,” Steve remarks as Kate exits John’s office at blank speed. Adrienne asks why he’s here. He says he’s got DiMera business to discuss with Mr. B. Adrienne tells him his timing could have been a little more perfect. He apologizes, saying that he can’t help it if is timeline doesn’t mesh with hers. She tries to stop him from going in, but can’t.

“Steve?” John cocks an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”

“Look, Dude, I know there’s some weird blood between us right now, but there’s something you need to know.”

Kate is waiting for the elevator. When it opens, Anna appears. Kate is nothing short of unpleasant to the fashionista, wondering why she shouldn’t call security for trespassing. Anna announces that she’s here to meet about a deal with her company to bring her clothing line back to the U.S. under a larger corporation. “If I’m not wanted here, Ms. Roberts, I’ll gladly do my sell to other companies.”

“Lucky for you, that’s not my call. Excuse me.” Kate steps onto the elevator, leaving Anna to wonder what she’s getting herself into.

“You remember the Benjy Hawk kid that me and Kayla were planning to adopt?” Steve asks John.

“Yeah. You don’t usually forget the kid’s you’ve hurt. I hear he’s not such a kid anymore.”

“No, in fact, his little boy is a spitting image. Anyway, he was found at what was going to be Lucas and Sami’s safe-house.” John tells Steve he was there, but wonders what’s being done both with the kid and with finding a new safe haven for Sami and Lucas. Steve explains Roman’s little plan to use Benjy to get to the other DiMeras. “What about Sami and Lucas?” Steve tells John that Roman wouldn’t discuss it with him. “Understandable,” John points out, saying he’ll have to call his people to see if they can’t forge a deal between the ISA and the police again. If they want to protect Sami from the DiMeras, they need to have the right arsenal.

Billie sees Sami’s point, but explains that’s why there’s an investigation going on. Sami admits that the thought that there could be someone on Stefano’s payroll in the Salem PD is rather daunting. Lucas wonders if getting the ISA involved might make her feel any safer.

Sami asks Billie if she can look into it. Billie says she’s way ahead of her. John was with her when they discovered Benjy. She points out that the game is getting complicated, and that Sami and Lucas may have to put on a bit of a performance if things get much worse. Lucas asks what she means, and tells him that the only way to beat the DiMeras is to play their game. She knows if any two people were up for a little deception it’s these two.

Lucas assures Billie that everything has changed, but Billie maintains that they’re still capable of pulling it off. She tells them to keep that in mind. Meanwhile, she has other business to attend to. She kisses Lucas on the cheek and heads out, wishing them luck.

Steve tells John that’s all well and good, but breaking Benjy is on top of the priority list right now. He could be just the break they need. John asks if he’s suggesting that he come face-to-face with Hawk, who could rightfully resent John for his time as Stefano’s mercenary when he was responsible for Benjy’s hearing loss. Steve tells him that they’re running out of options.

Our Days in Salem Episode #7 – Tuesday, July 3, 2007

At Bo and Hope’s house, Jeremy heads down the stairs, yelling into the kitchen that he’s going out. His volume, however, awakens Ciara, alerting Doug and Julie, who tell him he’s not going anywhere until he’s made his own keep around here. Jeremy argues that he has important business to tend to. Julie asks Doug if he’ll tend to Ciara (and he’s glad to) while she informs Jeremy that she’s known many businessmen in her life and when they’re too busy to take care of their house, they can hire someone – yet here he is, bumming off his cousin and behaving ungracious in the process. “And just who do you think you are, lady, telling me what to do?”

“I, Mr. Self-Entitled, am your cousin, Julie Williams, and your elder. I would have thought your mother would have taught you better manners than this, but I’ll be glad to fill that role myself, as will Hope – and many other women and men in this family. So, what you’re going to do, darling, is your going to call your little client and tell them you can’t make your meeting, due to unforeseen circumstances. If they think your business is worth it, they will give you the benefit of the doubt, and then you will go into the kitchen and do your aunt Hope a favor and pick up her slack a little. You see, its little things like that make us old folk feel appreciated and not want to give you a hard time, like right now. Do we have an understanding?”

Outside, Bo and Hope talk about Roman. Bo thinks that the sooner Anna is far away from his brother, the better off they’ll all be. Hope’s surprised at him. She can’t believe he doesn’t see how strongly Roman still feels for his ex. Bo thinks she’s crazy. Hope shrugs, sounding uninterested suddenly. “Fine. You don’t have to trust a woman’s instinct.”

“You think you know everything, don’t you?” and Hope fails to deny it. He tells her not to get too cocky, and she swats his chest. Bo tells her that she should get to work if she wants to get this done tonight. They have a flirty farewell in which they test the wire to make sure it’s working. As soon as Hope has left, Steve arrives. Bo asks his old pal what he thinks he’s doing. “Saving your hides, Beauregard. You just sent your pretty thing into a lion’s den. Thank to me, they’ll all be having a nice big cat nap.” Bo looks at him with distrust.

Back inside, Anna begins to feel faint, and she’s barely enjoyed her drink. She accuses Tony of drugging her and he tells her to quit while she’s ahead. He knows she’s just trying to get out of talking. He knows her act; he’s seen the play more times than he can count. He wants to know why it seems that his father and she have been cooking something up. Before she can say anything, she falls into Tony’s arms, and then he begins to feel the effects as well.

“You’ve got the key, Reed,” John points out. She uses it and they go inside. It’s dark and spacious. It looks to be one or two rooms. Billie asks John if he has a flashlight on him. He smirks, saying he’s always prepared. Billie second-guesses John’s presence, and tells him to go home to Marlena. The last thing she needs is for him to get hurt again after he just woke up from a coma. John fights it, saying he’s doing this for Sami and Marlena will understand. “Besides, it’s safe house. I’m not going in wired trying to nail a criminal.”

Billie doesn’t fight about it anymore, shedding some light on the place. Lucas said they wouldn’t put the lights in until Lucas and Sami move in. “Good thing we have these,” John remarks. As they search, they make small talk. He heard about what happened with Steve, and Billie claims she doesn’t wish to talk about it. He reminds her who he’s married to. He knows it does no good not to talk about things. She tells him that last time she talked about it, she landed herself and her friend in deep trouble. He reminds her that he’s not some vulnerable kid who’s being rejected by someone who I think is way out of my league. Billie sees his point, but says it’s too painful.

“Besides, the man took your kidney. I’m surprised you can be talking so casually about him.” John insists that he knows what Steve’s been through. He’s lucky to have gotten out when he did. Billie’s not sure it’s really over. John supposes she could be right, but only time will tell. “Marlena told me how you stood up to him, with Kayla and her. That took guts after all that happened.” Billie shrugs, saying she felt she owed it to Steve to show him that she really cared about, and wouldn’t just help him blindly if she knew it would be worse for him. He tells her she’s got the right stuff. She thanks John, but doesn’t think she’ll ever be able to find a man who isn’t already taken, heart and soul, by another woman.

Jeremy, of course, is not keen on Julie’s little lecture, and tells her so. He heads for the door again and Doug stops him, Ciara in his arms. He tells Doug to move. Julie closes in, telling him that if he wants to keep his little arrangement with Hope that he’ll do what he’s told and not act so superior. He swears he can’t cancel this business stuff, it’s too important. Julie tells him it’s simple. If it’s that important, the meeting can happen right here. Jeremy balks, and Julie wonders just what Jeremy has gotten himself into.

Fed up, Jeremy announces that he’s out of here. “Fine,” Julie says, “but be prepared to face the consequences!” He let’s her threat roll off his back, turning to go. She tells Doug to get out of his way, but Doug’s hesitant. Julie insists, but gives Jeremy one last warning. “Just remember this, my dear cousin. You’re living with cops. If I even think you’re up to no good…” This stops Jeremy in his tracks, and he says he’ll go make the phone call. Doug is amazed that Julie finally got through to him. She says it’s simple. She’s seen this kind of thing all the time. She may not have raised David, but she knew him and watched him and learned. The word cops will either make them want to rebel harder, or it will force them to grin and bear that which they’d other refuse to even consider.

“Well, Fair Lady, aren’t we lucky you were so confident he’d do the latter?” Julie shrugs, saying it’s a gift, and they kiss. Ciara cries and they go off to tend to her.

Steve informs Bo that he’s been living the good life inside the mansion, thanks to a little hoodwinking on his part. Bo tells Steve he really is crazy. “These dudes need a little taste of their own medicine, don’t you think?” Bo shakes his head and Hope asks what’s going on over the system. Bo tells him that it’s nothing, and he’ll deal with it. He tells Steve to leave, but he refuses. Hope announces that she’s in and that her present company is out like a light. Bo looks at Steve, who smirks. “Don’t say it,” the cop says and Steve shrugs.

Inside, Hope is caught red-handed by Stefano. He asks her what she’s doing in his house.

Outside, Bo is freaking out and Steve asks him to let him handle it. Steve explains that he has an in, and he’s less likely to get “the sweet thing” killed. Bo still doesn’t trust Steve, but reluctantly agrees to let him have his shot, but if anything happens to Hope, Bo won’t be above giving him a second eye patch. Steve winks, rushing off.

Inside, Hope is behaving like a deer caught in headlights. Stefano demands an answer. He wants to know what she did to Tony and Anna. She swears that she doesn’t know, and honestly doesn’t. He calls her a liar, and she tells him she came in looking for something. He wants to know what in his house she could possibly be looking for without a warning. “That’d be me, Mr. Big Shot,” announces Steve, shocking both of them.

Without alerting Stefano to the charade, he let’s Hope know what he’s getting at and she plays along, as they kiss. Stefano wants to know who the hell they think they’re fooling. Steve laughs, asking if Stefano is bothered that two of his little pawns decided to get together and make a little magic. Stefano says he has no time for this. He wants them to leave. They do. Stefano knows there’s more to their appearance than meets the eye, but has no patience to deal with this right now. He attempts to wake up Tony and Anna. Rolf arrives and announces that they were drugged. Stefano eyes the bottle of wine angrily.

John tells Billie not to sell herself short. Billie cuts him off, saying that it doesn’t look like there’s anything out of the ordinary about the place, creepy as it is with no lights. John agrees and they go to head out. Suddenly, there is a noise. They turn around and see another figure in the room. John zeroes in on him quickly, grabbing him. Billie flashes her light in his face. It’s Benjy!

Instantly, he tries to worm his way out of John’s grip. Billie recognizes him. So does John. Billie says that he helped the DiMeras get their hands on Steve. They always thought he was the good DiMera, yet here he is, probably arranging some kind of secret recording device to make sure Sami and Lucas can’t be completely hidden from the family. Billie wants answers. John explains that they’re not going to get any out of him here, explaining that he’s a mute. Billie wonders what they can do, since their being here is suspicious in of itself. John reminds her that she had the key. He’s got a plan.

In the kitchen, Jeremy is on the phone. He tells the person on the other end that he can’t keep this up. His family already doesn’t trust him.

On the other end, EJ tells him to buck up. He’s got all the charm in the world; he just needs to use it to his advantage.

They have Benjy tied to a chair, struggling. John goes outside to make a phone call, leaving. Billie is disgusted by him, unable to believe what he’s done. Benjy shakes his head. Billie grabs his face fiercely and changes her mind, “Well, I suppose anyone under Stefano’s influence long enough can make a complete about face.” He tenses, and she asks him if he’s a deaf-mute, how does he know what she’s saying. He bites his lip looking away. She remembers Steve mentioning something about him learning to read lips. Billie’s sure that, if Steve is back to normal, he’ll be more than happy for some retribution from this man he trusted like a son.

Sami asks that Marlena not look at her like that, telling her old habits die hard. She noticed tension between Anna and her at the Pub last night. Marlena tells her that she’s imagining things. She and Anna were good friends before she left Salem. Sami finds it hard to imagine they remained so, between the long-distance and the way Sami terrorized Anna’s daughter. Marlena explains to Sami that Anna was never a very motherly type, informing her that even when Anna was in town, Marlena behaved as a motherly figure while married to their father, Roman. Sami’s not sure what to think of this, but Marlena tells her it’s time to stop stalling and to get her in with Dr. Jacobs now.

    Back at the Brady Pub…

Kate stands in the doorway, closing the door slowly. “Well, I’m glad to know how you really feel.”

Lucas turns to Billie, outraged at the realization that she invited Kate to breakfast, too. He gets up, saying he needs to get to the hospital to see Sami. Kate stops him, making a snide remark about Sami always winding up in the hospital. Lucas asks her how the SEC is treating her and brushes past her.

Chelsea asks that they not talk about this right outside her bedroom, where Nick could overhear. This confirms Hope’s suspicions, and tells Chelsea that if she wants to talk, she knows where to find her. Chelsea wonders where she’s going. Hope tells her she’s got bigger little fish to fry before she goes off to fry some really big fish. Chelsea doesn’t get it. Hope asks if she’s noticed how Jeremy cavorts around the house. “Oh, I’ve noticed. I think it’s crazy that you let him stay here.” Hope insists that any Horton is welcome in her house. Chelsea says that sometimes family isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Hope smiles, and goes to find Jeremy, just as he arrives up the stairs. Chelsea excuses herself and Hope seizes opportunity.

Downstairs, Chelsea sees Stephanie on the couch. Not wanting to deal with another tirade against Nick, she attempts to slip past her in the kitchen and thinks she’s succeeded, until she hears the door linger behind her. She turns around and sees Stephanie has followed her. Stephanie tells her cousin that she heard she and Nick got pretty hot and heavy last night. Chelsea is mortified to learn that Jeremy saw them going at it on the couch. Stephanie tells her to get over it. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about, even if your partner is a scrawny computer nerd. Chelsea admits that nothing happened. “I knew it! I know exactly why, too.” Chelsea humors her and Stephanie says she thinks she’s got the hots for Jett Carver.

Marlena helps Sami get settled into her hospital garb and ready for the procedure. Dr. Jacobs comes in and assures her that her baby will be in very little danger. Sami’s still anxious, both to know who the father is and out of fear for what could go wrong. Marlena tells her daughter to relax as Dr. Jacobs preps her. Sami laughs, commenting how there’s so much she never did with Will. She remembers that Lucas didn’t either, because of her lies and convincing even herself that Austin was Will’s father. Marlena tells her that it’s all right. He’ll be here.

Sami takes a deep breath as Dr. Jacobs tells Marlena that she may want to see this. Sami clamors to see the screen, too. The image is distorted at first, but then Marlena gasps, saying a signature, “My goodness,” followed by, “Sami, you see what Dr. Jacobs is talking about. Look there. Right there. Tell me what you see.” Sami’s confused, but tells her mother that she sees two distinct shapes, wondering if that’s the head and a foot, or what. Marlena says no. She pulls out an old picture of her sonogram when she was carrying Sami and Eric to make Sami make the connection. She takes the picture. “I’m having twins?” The realization washes over in a bittersweet moment, as Lucas stands in the doorway, just overhearing what Sami has said.

Jeremy invites Hope into his room, so they can talk in private. She appreciates his kindness with a thick layer of sarcasm. She tells him that she probably didn’t make herself clear when she told him he could stay here. He’s heard the neighbors talking, and it seems like he’s not been faithful to Stephanie. Hope reminds him that this is Bo’s house, too, and that he’s Stephanie’s uncle. Jeremy claims they’re just having fun, but Hope isn’t biting. Hope tells him that while he can continue crashing here, he’s not to bring a girl here who isn’t Stephanie. As far as Stephanie as told anyone, they’re exclusive.

It’s Jeremy’s business if he sleeps around, but he won’t bring that drama into her house, nor will he play loud music when nobody is around. If she gets one phone call about disturbing the peace, she won’t stop Bo or Roman from pressing charges, since he’s an adult. “Oh come on, aunt Hope, it’s just a little fun. You were young once.” She warns him not to play cute with her. She’s not afraid to make long distance phone calls. Her house, her roof, her rules, and that means no ifs, ands or buts. “And one more thing. If I ever hear that you’ve been playing Stephanie for a fool, well- I can forget any male pig is family for a few minutes.”

Hope leaves Jeremy’s room and knocks on Chelsea’s. Nick is still inside. Nick wants Hope to know nothing happened, but she explains that Chelsea told her. She’s not here to scold him. She wants to give him a friendly warning. She knows how frustrating it must be that after everything with Willow, they just can’t get on with their lives, but he thinks that there’s more to Chelsea’s resistance than what she’s said. Nick figured as much. Hope says she knows nothing. It’s just a mother’s instinct. “Speaking of which, have you talked to your parents since you were cleared.” Nick shakes his head no, and Hope encourages him to do so. It might do him some good to pay a visit, if he can make the time.

Back downstairs, Stephanie pushes her agenda, telling her that Nick is not the kind of guy for her. Chelsea says she’s sorry she’s not into macho pigs like Jeremy. Stephanie rolls her eyes, and tells her that she and Jett would be perfect. Chelsea reminds her cousin that he’s engaged. Stephanie shrugs, saying that she’s far away from here in Dayton. Chelsea can’t believe what she’s suggesting. Stephanie wants Chelsea to just admit that what she had with Nick is over, and she just refuses to move on. Chelsea seems affected by this, as Stephanie walks away.

Bo walks in and Chelsea runs to him, thudding him with a hug. “Hey, Kid, what’s up? Talk to me?” She cries, just asking Bo to hold her. He does, doing his best to comfort her.

Billie looks at Kate apologetically, but she tells her daughter to save it. She knew it would be a waste of time. After all the times Lucas has told her that he’s out of his life, she knew he meant it this time. He’s been downright vicious about Mythic and the SEC, and he’s made no attempts to be in touch with her. She can’t blame him. Enough about her, she wants to know what’s new in her daughter’s life.

Billie reminds her mother that her life is Chelsea and since she cut herself out of it, she’s been at a bit of a loss. She wishes Chelsea had let her be there for her while she dealt with Nick’s run-in with the law. This catches Kate’s attention. Billie tells her about the hairbrush that was found at Bo and Hope’s after the fire, and how it was Chelsea’s and what Nick did. Kate thinks Chelsea should kick him to the curb, if he’s willing to risk an honest career like that for a crime she didn’t even commit. He obviously didn’t believe in her. Billie tells her to cut the guy some slack. Kate makes a biting remark about Billie defending him because he’s good in bed. “You know, Mom, if I were you, I wouldn’t be burning bridges right now, or I might join the club Lucas just started.”

Kate apologizes for being crude, but she just assumed. She tells Billie to continue. She goes on to tell her mother about Willow’s death and how the truth all came to light – but Roman opted to just believe Nick’s story and throw out state’s evidence. Kate is mortified!

Stefano is sitting at his chessboard, deep in thought. The doorbell rings, and Bart announces his guests—daughter, Lexie, and former paramour, Celeste.

“Very good,” Stefano tells his brainless servant, “Show them to me at once.”

Upon her entrance, Stefano can see despite her ravishing glow, that Lexie is still rattled by her experience in the tunnels. His heart breaks for her, attempting to go to her and comfort her. Celeste reminds him fiercely that no matter what he’ll have them believe, she holds him responsible for what happened to their darling daughter.

At the Brady Pub, Stephanie (role now being played by Shayna Rose) struts in from the kitchen with Caroline in toe; she asks her grandmother if there’s anything else she’s needed for. Caroline asks her not to be hasty.

“Have a seat,” Caroline tells her. Stephanie wants to know what’s going on. Caroline tells her to just sit down for five minutes and talk to her. “It won’t kill you.” Stephanie tosses her long hair over her shoulder, annoyed by her grandmother’s assertion. Caroline asks if she can get Stephanie anything to drink, but Stephanie declines. Caroline says she’ll return in a moment and not to go anywhere.

Adrienne walks into the Hudson Street Diner, glancing about. She sees Hope, who is tending to Ciara.

Hope thanks Adrienne for coming. The redhead wants to know what’s going on. Hope tells her that she needs a favor.

Stefano asks Lexie to look him in the eye. She won’t. As he’s explained to Celeste, he insists he had nothing to do with what happened to her. “It is your demented brother, Tony, who is to be held responsible for what has happened here. And make no mistake. He will be made to repent.”

Lexie, still not looking at him, asks why she ever believed him, and why she should believe him now. Stefano tells her that he is her father. “Father?” Lexie scoffs. “A father is supposed to protect his children. Have you ever done that? Have you?!” She gets in his face, angry and wild. “I know all about your history, Father, and not once did I ever stop to question it. Your influence filled me like a poison, and I am one of the few survivors. It started with Megan, and you couldn’t give her the respect to mourn her, you had to blame someone and shed more blood! You played games with Tony and Renée, and allowed her to be killed in your game against Roman, Benjy hates you and fears you, Peter’s in jail, because of the things you pushed him to do, and Kristen is dead! Tony and I are the only ones left standing, and barely – oh, but Elvis. Dear sweet Elvis- yet one more in a long line of pawn-children. It’s just too bad he never got with Sami, because life with that bitch would be a lot safer than an eternity with you!”

She motions to slap him, but he grabs her wrist.

Outside of the Pub, Steve and Kayla stroll along with Benjy. He’s quiet, not talking. Kayla manages to get out of him that as long as he’s free he’s not safe, and neither is Sonia and his child.

Steve promises Benjy that as long as he’s with them, he’ll be safe. Benjy signs angrily, telling him not to make promises he can’t keep. He goes inside, leaving Steve and Kayla outside alone. Kayla worries that they can’t pull this off, but Steve kisses her for confidence, and they follow the man they nearly adopted.

Adrienne asks what she can do.

Hope mentions the Airline bust. She says that the kids need to learn real responsibility, and she heard that Basic Black is under new management. Adrienne sees where this is going. Hope understands if Adrienne’s hesitant, but she explains that she doesn’t have to worry about it until the police investigation is wrapped. Depending on where that leaves the kids- Hope just wants to know if they’ll be able to have something to keep them busy and out of trouble.

“Hope, you can count on me. I’ve seen how Jeremy and Stephanie operate. I know just how in line they need to be put.”

Stefano stands there, unflinching, gripping her wrist firmly, but not violently. “Are you finished, Alexandra?” She is repulsed how unphased he has by this terror he has brought upon his own family. Once she rips her arm free of his grip, she tells him that he can blame Tony for what happened, but he brought it on all by himself. He grows enraged by her accusations, but before he can do anything, he falls victim to another coughing spell.

Lexie attempts to help him, but he demands that she go get Rolf. “I appreciate your devotion to your profession, my darling, despite the venom you have just spit in my direction, but, forgive me, given circumstances…” She is outraged that he doesn’t trust her not to make a dire mistake. He assures that he only wants to be cautious. She’s suspicious, but can’t bear to see him so helpless, so she does leaves to get Rolf. While Celeste helps him to settle, she warns him that if he is playing them all once more, that he won’t live to regret it. He has a chuckle at Celeste’s threat, and tells her “Don’t get your tail feathers all ruffled, hmm? We are a family.”

At the Brady Pub, Kayla is trying to teach Stephanie some simple sign language, to ease her communication with her would-be brother. Benjy sits alone to his thoughts, drinking some coffee.

Stephanie grows frustrated and gets up from the bar stool, starting towards the door. Benjy stands and grabs her arm. He mouths “patience”. Having been watching Kayla, he reiterated what Kayla was showing Stephanie. His sensitivity in using it everyday to communicate helps Stephanie to let it in.

The moment is ruined, of course, when Steve arrives, announcing he’s brought some friends. John and Billie come inside.

“This is about Nick, isn’t it?” Chelsea asks tentatively.

“Oh, what gave that away?” Maggie retorts, and Chelsea can see she’s a bit edgy. Chelsea wants Maggie to know that moving out was Nick’s decision. Maggie knew that the home wrecker was involved somehow. Chelsea is offended, but Maggie doesn’t back off, remind her that if not for Chelsea, the whole mess with Willow could have been avoided. At the Pub, Benjy grows cold and sits down, back to everyone. John thinks being here isn’t a good idea. Kayla wonders what’s going on, explaining to Steve that Benjy’s already suspicious. Steve says time isn’t on their side. They had to raise the stakes.

Benjy gets up and in all of their faces. He signs angrily, knowing that they’re talking about him and letting them all know that he refuses to talk to them. Steve asks him whom he will talk to. Benjy turns away and Steve doesn’t relent. All he is able to get out of Benjy is him signing “Tarot”.

Back at the hospital, Jett asks about Abe. Lexie explains that he’s in recovery now. It’s taking a lot longer than expected, but he’s accepting the transplant. Jett thinks that’s wonderful.

Celeste feels that she is needed elsewhere. Lexie wonders what she means. She’s not sure. It was just a feeling. Suddenly, at the nurse’s station, a nurse calls her name, saying that there’s a phone call for her. Taken aback, she takes the phone and Caroline’s voice sounds on the other end, telling her they need her at the Pub. When Celeste asks what’s going on, Caroline says Benjy asked for her. Celeste tells her she’ll be there.

Lexie asks her mother what this was about. Celeste tells her daughter that at last she’ll meet her good brother, Benjy. Lexie says she couldn’t possibly leave Abe right now. Jett says he’ll stay and let them know if there’s any change. Lexie thanks him, and the two women rush off.

Chelsea admits that she made a mistake, but now she and Nick are finally getting onto the right foot and she wants everything to be perfect.

“And that can’t happen as long as he’s living with a guardian of sorts?” Maggie asks. Chelsea means no disrespect, but living with an older relative does sort of cramp your style, especially if you both do. A realization hits Maggie and she asks if this is about sex?

All Chelsea will say is that she and Nick need a chance to have time for themselves. Maggie takes it for what it is and comes to her own conclusions. She thanks Chelsea for her honesty and leaves. Chelsea wonders if she did the right thing.
