These three weeks have ratings data (one from Daytime TV; the other two of the three weeks have ratings & share data from Soap Opera Weekly) These weeks are missing the affiliates/clearances and partial preemptions data. Full preemption data is confirmed by comparing the # of telecasts in the preceding and succeeding books. Always appreciated and always fun finding new facts and filling in more of the daytime history data! 😃 Heading into the Watergate era soon, so lots of preemptions upcoming. In the meantime, there was a random 1972 included in this batch, so here's a look at those two weeks. I think that's our first look at some shows with shares in the 40's!! Back to 1973 tomorrow! Based on the preemptions above, I think I have figured out the one wrong item, and learned a new piece of history in doing the 1973 sleuthing! All of the preemptions matched except for 4 shows (Love of Life, Search for Tomorrow, Young and the Restless and Gambit) which each had one MORE preemption than expected. Checking on Watergate from 10/3/73 (since all 4 of those shows have that date list as the common one between them), there was a bomb threat called into the Watergate committee, which made the morning session get called off shortly after 11AM, and then after a bomb search, they started the afternoon session an hour earlier at 1PM. So, based on that, I am removing 10/3/73 as a preemption date for those 4 shows. CBS looks like they wrapped up commentary quickly after 11AM and aired the 4 shows (Love of Life would be a partial episode).
