It says 65 percent coverage for that 27-minute repeat. They didn't even bother having it rated. The special report was from 1257 to 5PM, so I guess only the Eastern and Central affiliates (and other early-airing affiliates) aired the first 27 minutes of it and then it was preempted in the rest of the country.

Maybe BB and YR had started doing what Days did after this. This was the Malaysian airplane crash, which was the last time ever that Days was preempted by a breaking news special report. Anytime that happened after this, since Days was airing on NBC.com, they wouldn't preempt it, even if the whole country didn't see it on NBC TV. I checked the BB and YR July 2014 daily threads, but oddly enough, there was no mention of any preemption (or much chat at all) on July 17, 2014. However, these three threads provide more info: DM says in the July 2014 BB episode rankings thread: "July 2014 Episode Rankings A total of 23 episodes aired this month." (Jason47 note: 23 is the max you can air in a month, meaning no preemptions) But Soapsuds said this in the 7/17/14 ratings thread: "B&B was doing so well until the preemptions on Thursday....it could have hit a 2.8 for the week. All soaps were really down on Friday." And in the ratings post, there is no episode listed for 7/17: "NOTE: There were pre-emptions and interruptions on Thursday and Friday." As I said when I started this years ago, I can only tell you what the Nielsen preemptions are, but that doesn't necessarily mean the episodes didn't air that day (at least from around 2014-onward), elsewhere (online or TV Guide Network). We know from Days itself that there were many across-the-country preemptions during that last decade from 2015-2022, but at that point, NBC made the switch to always airing a new episode on NBC.com, and later on Peacock, so that there were no "true" preemptions anymore. I have already completed the Days list for that time frame, and when Nielsen doesn't list an episode for a certain date, I list that in the "Partial Preemptions & Special Airings" list. There were 3 or 4 episodes where Days is listed as airing in the 12PM-1PM time slot, meaning that it only aired on those stations which aired it an hour early (the rest of the country was preemption). There's also one time where Days is listed as airing only at 207-307AM (this time that means even the Noon affiliates were preempted).
