Wow. We actually get to see NE on Monday. Actually kind of surprised.

And why? Why are we jumping to this when we haven’t even addressed the whole “Mariah killed a man” which happened months ago and was supposed to be the legs this storyline is standing on, but we’re just gonna drop that like a hot potato and start a completely new storyline? Super glad to have more Mariah back on screen more but let’s make sure we’re incorporating all aspects of this storyline and tying it together before we just jump to some kidnapping BS. I’ll wait to see if it all ties together somehow but I’m not gonna hold my breath.

Chelsea is just coming across as a huge a** kisser to the Newmans. It’s giving desperate. Even Sharon wasn’t this desperate to “fit in” with the Newmans back in the day even though she yearned for Nikki’s approval, atleast she had her own personality. Chelsea trying to stick it to Phyllis at the coffee house was embarrassing. Acting like she has some kind of moral high ground to stand on because she’s married to Adam who is a baby stealing psychopath (let’s not forget that)..

That’s because Sharon is looking at the pile of sh*t of a script in front of her and struggling to keep a serious face throughout it all. Can’t say I blame her!

I mean I watched Michael Fairmans interview with Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow from a few days ago and he does kind of make it seem like the show isn’t going in that direction of Nick being an addict but we’ll see I guess. It does seem like it would be an unnecessary layer to add on top of this already messy storyline. Can we atleast address how Matt Clark is still alive after all this time first?

Is Sally’s only purpose in the show to nag at her boyfriends? It’s not often I take the straight man’s side in (any) type of relationship conflict but Sally is so friggin insufferable that she has me taking Billy’s side and I don’t even like him

Why does Chelsea need to “prove” anything to Nikki?

I was gonna add that about he and Gina Tognoni. It was probably the only time he was tolerable and that was mainly to her credit..

I stopped caring about Billy once Billy Miller left the role. I FF him and Sally any chance I get.

I was literally going to post about this very same topic on here the other day by presenting the exact same question.. what would everyone think of AI soaps? On one hand, it would resolve the lack of sets and large casts, which soaps had in the glory days with a larger budget. It would be so fun to see a vibrant rich fictional world with different families and classes exist in an AI universe where the writer or “creator” of this can be in the drivers seat showing us their vision for this kind of soap opera. It would be such a fun creative outlet for someone like me, who as @dc11786 mentioned, were one of those people creating fan fiction and actually wrote different storylines and posted episodes daily. I could control who comes and goes, what actors I wanted playing these roles in my make believe world. It would be really cool to see how this would work in 2026 with AI. On the other hand, one of the main things I love about soaps is also the real humans who play these roles. Each actor has a unique approach to acting and when we watch these shows the reason we feel so connected to it is because we see ourselves in these, very much real HUMANS. If we took that away what would it look like.. would it just be soulless and empty? It’s definitely fun to think about though. When I imagine what it would look like/mean to have an AI soap I can’t help but picture the Sims 😂 except obviously more advanced than that.

Why is this show always shooting itself in the foot 😂

I don’t even watch DAYS anymore and even I’m shocked that they would make the same mistake they did years ago getting rid of their younger and (popular couples) Shawn, Belle, Mimi, Philip etc all in one swoop. That really hurt the show back then and I suspect this will too

This Cane and Phyllis alliance to take Victor down is reminding me of when Sharon and Tucker briefly tried to take him down but failed miserably years ago. I somehow doubt this is going to work out for either of them since we know Victor always wins anyways. Holden and Audra have chemistry and I enjoyed their scenes together at the coffee house. If they’re leaning towards a Claire/Holden/Audra triangle though, where does that leave Kyle? I wish they would just pick a storyline and go all the way with it instead of switching things up every few months.

The soap is so bad right now I can’t even blame the actors for phoning it in anymore. I’d just be going to keep a paycheque at this point. They give these actors nothing of substance to dig their teeth into. I’d be burned the f*ck out as an actor at Y&R

Daniel and Tessa - I actually don’t think the idea of these two being together is that crazy if it weren’t for that small little inconvenient detail that Tessa is a lesbian.. Tessa and Sienna were at Sharon’s place discussing her past today.. (surprise Sienna just HAPPENS to know another person in Genoa city from her past) but anyways, I did pick up on that little nugget the writers threw in there about ‘Tanner’ who is supposed to be an ex of Tessa’s that she performed with at bars. I can see they are already setting up a future triangle for Daniel and Tessa. Well the problem with that is, you should probably make sure the couple is working before bring in a third person for a triangle because right now they’re not. I think under different circumstances they could work though..(different writers, Tessa not being lesbian). I genuinely believe these two would f*ck the sh*t out of eachother in real life, and that’s kind of important when writing for a new couple.. so JG gets that one small part right, but as usual.. completely misses the mark for a multitude of other reasons..

And I’m willing to bet this Matt stuff will be wrapped up in the next couple weeks and we’ll be expected to just forget about it while they move onto the Mariah storyline which will now involve Abby/Devon. Matt will be killed or put in jail and they will possibly keep Sienna around for Noah or have her hook up with someone else. There will be no pay off or even a single f*cking point to the storyline happening at all 😆

They condensed a bunch of crap into one episode and showed an entire day in Genoa City in the span of a few minutes. So dumb. They aren’t even hiding anymore that they don’t care to write an actual story. It’s just a bunch of random scenes stitched together. No lead up, no suspense, no nothing..

One positive thing I will point out. Since I know there’s a lot of negative and it can be hard to see any positives. It does feel like JG is branching out to add more than one/two storylines to the show at once again which I do appreciate. Too bad all the storylines are absolute garbage.. but that’s one good thing I will say for now 😆 It’s not that I don’t like the occasional umbrella storyline here and there but they have to atleast make sense. This writer does not do umbrella storylines well. Also, something still needs to be done about the way the cast is being featured. So many characters only getting 5-6 episodes a month when they’re supposed to be in a major storyline is not acceptable!

Yeah that’s pretty dark but a lot of those storylines were very soapy and like someone else mentioned, the stakes were high. She also had Sharon drug an officer and escape from prison and dye her hair dark to disguise her appearance. Phyllis was dragging bodies out of her penthouse with the help of Kevin. Very outlandish but still pretty entertaining nevertheless.. The show was still investing in couples and writing romance stories like Billy and Victoria even though I was NOT a fan of them, I know they had a fan base. Was Cane and Lily also a MAB creation? I know for certain she wrote Lilys cancer storyline and that one I did actually enjoy too.

I’ll take MAB’s Y&R over this horse sh*t any day.

Not even close. The show was better. It really was starting to decline a lot by that time but atleast there were stories and a budget. The stories sucked, sure.. but atleast we got to see the action unfold. We just have to take characters words for it when they say something happened off screen while they sit and drink coffee and chat. BORING.

Oh wow. Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope in scenes together? When’s the last time that happened? I know these two dated IRL but I wonder how serious it actually got between them and how awkward doing these scenes were to do

..and Faith should be a major character driving story right about now. She’s in her early 20s by now I’d assume, she’s a Newman. There’s plenty they could and SHOULD be doing with her! Instead they’re writing stories for Victor and Nikki that would be more suitable for the younger set. Why would we care that Nikki might leave Victor for the millionth time.
