Your memory is so good. Thanks. Tess really did torture Stacy, but chemistry trumps all on soaps. Catherine Hickland really brought something special to her characters. She could be the worst, but there was rooting value.

I remember them as a couple. It was so sad when Buck found Stacey dead and his daughter died in the plane crash. I forget if he made the move over to The City.

😂😂 Reva is such a polarizing character. As for the happy ending discussions, I prefer them. If writers have a reasonable amount of time, they should craft a goodbye that's true to the story and pays some fan service. I'm still confused as to why Josh and Cassie got married and Reva had a menopausal baby with Jeffrey. But it makes sense that Josh/Reva were endgame. They were toxic, but fans can overlook a lot. I don't like that AMC and OLTL ended on cliffhangers.

I'll listen to the Susan Lucci appearance on the podcast. In a way, it's refreshing that Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't try to paint a rosy picture of her relationship with Susan in that particular interview. I wonder if the two have ever had a conversation about their time on the show years later.

I remember being shocked when Hart was killed off. I didn't read spoilers back then and had only started my SOD collection. Wendy Moniz was perfection as Dinah but I always felt the writers went OTT to put her into a corner to prop up Cassie/Hart. Gina Tognoni really did a Herculean effort making the character viable again. (I'm not sure if you have gotten to her performance yet or if you watched in real life.) Dinah could've been a cartoon in less capable hands. Later, her and Jonathan were fun together but she went on an Edmund rabbit hole and maybe backstage issues prevented a full blown romance. And there was also more rooting value and interest in Jammy. But I loved them for what they were. OG Danny and Michelle will always have my heart. The chemistry between Paul Anthony Stewart and Joy Lenz was so easy and the story really supported their growing attraction and love. Carmen was a nice spoiler, at first at least.

Ridge and Bridget only kissed (and even that is nasty since he raised her). But Bold got so much backlash, and the story was scrapped. I don't think they've ever mentioned their feelings again. It's beyond vile that a man can raise a girl and then have an attraction to her. Don't care that it's a soap. Ridge is a father/father figure to her.

Now I'm curious about Kyle and Reva. I just always assumed that no other romantic pairing compared to her and Josh. I do remember Blake and Ben. I really liked his character, especially with Hunt Block in the role. But I didn't know that Blake ran through the entire Spaulding family. Springfield really was a small town! Thanks for the history lesson.

Say what?! I can only imagine the fan reaction. I know that every man had to fall in love with Reva, but she's the Brooke Logan of GL. She's been with every man of the Lewis family. I want to be more outraged, but Harley, Olivia and Beth did the same (I may be missing some more). Just gross even by soap standards. It's too much for a show. Ridge and Bridget hooking up was absolutely filthy. He helped raise her as a daughter. P&G had an issue across the board.

It's nice to see Susan making the rounds to promote "La Lucci." I wish I could've met her during her signings last week. I need to pick up her book soon. I'll try to watch the Locher Room with Michael Bruno this week. LGBTQ stories are given more priority now but it really was groundbreaking when AMC did their story.

I'm really happy I found this thread because I genuinely like reading everyone's POVs. My depth of knowledge spans the late 90s through Jan. 2007. I only watched here and there afterwards. The filming on random streets in Jersey and storytelling didn't inspire me to watch. I really like how passionate the posts are from the 90s, 80s and even the 60s and 70s. I've always been interested in the Roger Thorpe era and seeing how he became this iconic character, if his trajectory was similar to Luke Spencer and Todd Manning. And I think there was Marian Crane story about a crossdresser. As for the incestuous relationships, I wish the writers had shown restraint. Reva was with two sons and a father. As mentioned, Bill was with two sets of mother/daughter. Olivia was with Phillip, Alan and I think Gus. Cassie/Josh bothered me more than it should have. Same with Tony/Michelle. Someone should've said "Enough!"

I hate that the show lost interest in Isaiah. The potential was and is still there to make him important on the canvas. I wouldn't have minded an R.J. Gannon tie-in. I'm still bitter that Curtis is Trina's biological father. The writers just swapped Taggert out for him, and now this new kid (if it survives) anchors him even more to the canvas.

I don't blame any actor who bolted. Ricky found a second life on AMC, and Beth, well.... But GL was arguably very Harley-centric while she was there. I remember there was a big deal made when she returned in 1997. I think that was the year, and she seemed to be the center of gravity. I liked her and Phillip and then GUSH before I tapped out. Overall, 2005 is a decent viewing year so far. A bit too much of Harley but I don't have any major complaints. I'm at March 2005. But the Danny/Marina and Michelle/Tony pairings are so WTF. I never liked Manny 2.0 but why is everyone OK with Michelle dating her husband's cousin? I'm an unapologetic Jammy fan but Springfield was too incestuous. Everyone's hooking up with someone's brother/father/mother/sister. Cassie/Josh is still gross to me. Maybe if Laura Wright's Cassie had a ONS with Josh but that's it. And then there's Beth and Alan. Although, Rick and Beth was even stranger since that was Phillip's best friend. It was all just too much. That's a spot on assessment about Reva and her interactions with her kids. She was gone for Shayne and Marah's young lives, and outside of Jonathan, they're all normal (for a soap opera at least). I don't think Reva could or wants to relate. But she felt Jonathan's rage. And 😂at the bolded. It's hard to argue that point.

Dr. Gannon needs to drop that towel....😃 I wish I cared about Maxie's return. The setup to this story has been piss poor. Did Nathan ever visit her? I hope Maura West finally gets a real story this year. She and Rebecca Herbst need more to do. The show really fumbled the Ric/Liz/Ava triangle.

Agree. Unless it was opposite Tom Pelphrey's Jonathan. I'm happy to be corrected but the Reva/Jonathan dynamic had undertones to it that went beyond mother/son. It wasn't overt but KZ seemed to show up more in her scenes that centered Jonathan. Her other kids felt like afterthoughts. I found a 2005 Guiding Light playlist last night and this show really did love Harley. She's in almost every episode. I generally liked Harley but jeez. The character's overexposure also extended to those pitiful last months where Harley was sleeping with her niece's boyfriend and Gus' death. Gush should've been endgame but GL had to ruin almost all their couples.

GH: Actor Taking Leave Of Absence
Jason is a glorified supporting character (which I prefer him as at this point). I don't think his absence will hurt the show.

I really loved this interview. I wish I could've met her this week when she had signings but I'm looking forward to reading her new book. I started binging the introduction to Kendall on AMC. Susan and Sarah, whatever issues they had off screen, had such good chemistry. Kendall and Erica becoming close in later years was such a full circle moment.

I loved Trisha Mann-Grant and Ambyr Michelle on The Locher Room. I'm watching it again right now. You can tell the love and faith between them is so genuine. They're both such a testimony, especially Trisha and her recovery from her stroke. It's sad to hear about her son, but I hope that he can find healing. I wish more of their personalities were more in their characters. That goes for the entire cast, who just pop up on social media while they're stagnant on screen.

Kat is so messy and a hypocrite. She was describing herself to Izaiah. 😂 I also think that modeling is an organic way to create conflict between Izaiah and Eva, but so many beats have been missed. And he's way too laid back in all his scenes. I don't buy him as a bad boy. He and Eva just don't do it for me. I could sympathize with Eva if she didn't act like Kat had no reason to hate her. Tit for tat.
