  1. There were like eight other soaps with the kind of storytelling you prefer. It was okay for Days to be different. My favourite soap is Passions. It was for young people.
  2. Nah. Days got even better and better with his final year, 1997, being his best. And his second run was great up until Ken made him do Melaswen. Recall that Days almost overtook Y&R as #1 soap in 1997 with the big payoff at Susan’s Graceland wedding.
  3. As owner, he will continue to be credited as Executive Producer.
  4. I’m not sure if Peacock really cares if anyone actually watches Days just so long as they’re subscribing month in and month out. The move to Peacock was never about strengthening Days in my opinion. It was about Peacock gaining a long term subscriber base.
  5. I also agree. NBC got out of the soap business. I don’t think Sony would want it. Internationally it’s not all that popular except in Canada and Australia. The budget is so low and the production values are atrocious. I think Peacock will cut its losses next year. Sad to see it go out this way. I wonder if the rumour that Ron was let go when his contract was up last month is true. I could see them installing a classic writer like Anderson to pen the farewell season. What?? Sweet aunt Ruby trafficked Bobbie?!? I only knew Ruby in the 90s and she was so lovely.
  6. In my opinion it’s been clear for a while now that he’s wanted to get the show to its sixtieth season and then wrap the show and retire.
  7. This whole thing has made me question if Ken was this inept and out of it when he had good executive producers like Tom Langan, Stephen Wyman, and Edward Scott. Also, the fact that he’s buddying around with Alarr still makes me wonder if Alarr is still somehow running the show by proxy through Janet. Janet has been with Days since the 80s so I’m not sure why she’d align with him but here we are. Also, Corday missed the whole Me Too movement somehow. How could he possibly think this situation could be swept under the rug? If this does lead to Days ending I hope people don’t blame Ari. Sony cannot push Corday out. As the CEO of Corday Productions he literally owns the show.
  8. Let’s just say this is one of the first things Janet fixed
  9. The thing you’re worried about is not as bad as you think.
  10. Interesting. Ron Carlivati’s contract was up for renewal in January, also 90 days after the strike ended. He hasn’t mentioned Days much lately.
  11. LOL! What would the mods do? They certainly don’t do anything when you get reported.
  12. No one is speculating about the actress who made a comment about “dirty Jews” in November 2022 as mentioned in the court documents. There are two obvious MAGA candidates (Banus and Koslow), but it could have been someone else, maybe someone who’s no longer there?
  13. I am surprised they could be fired so soon after the strike ended.
  14. I’m mostly commenting on how good the show looked under him. Great production values, the cameras weren’t always static, better use of music, ambient sound especially in order scenes, etc etc I’d take him or Steve Wyman back in a heartbeat. The EPs who followed them have been terrible.
  15. I am not sure what this has to do with Tom Langan being a great EP who produced a good-looking show.
  16. Adrienne Frantz or McKenzie Westmore would also make a great Belle.
  17. A Belle recast would still work. My top choices are Erin Torpey, Bree Williamson, or Marcy Rylan. Of course, my true top choice will always be Kirsten Storms.
  18. As Phloe phan I’d rather have them together offscreen where I can imagine Philip is still being played by JKJ. Chloe‘s heyday was 1999-2001 and she really hasn’t added anything to the show since.
  19. I hope Martha sues because it will guarantee she never returns. It’s been 20 years and I still can’t stand Granny Belle.
  20. Gabi has been recast and Nadia moved to the East Coast.
  21. I’ve got Vee on ignore myself.
  22. She might be Abby. Her character’s supposed name is Marin. Ashley Benson, the best Abby, played a character named Hannah Marin on Pretty Little Liars.
  23. Thank you for the pronunciation!
  24. Horror is a genre, noir is a genre, romance is a genre. Soaps are not a genre. Does anyone know how to pronounce Mulcahey? I’ve been pronouncing it “Mull-KA-hey”.
