There’s no way they’re bringing back anyone from 40-50 years ago. No way. On top of that, they can only have a maximum of twelve actors per episode so they’re going to bring back the heavy hitters like Hope, Bo, their children, maybe Claire, definitely Eli, probably Lani.

You know that none but Kristian will be back. It’ll be her, Peter, Beemer, Konefal, Missy, and Matt.

You’ve been claiming I said something I didn’t say. I’ve made it clear over and over that I never said anything about Eileen returning on contract. I was crystal clear yet you still misinterpreted what I said. It’s either a reading comprehension issue on your end or you’re gaslighting me. Either way, knock it off.

She has not stated anything beyond not wanting to play her roles on a contract basis. I have not been advocating for a contract return. Do you even listen to me? This is not directed at anyone in particular but it’s very difficult to have a conversation with people who are willfully misconstruing what you’re saying while simultaneously making things up.

You seem to be operating under the belief that Eileen doesn’t want to do *anything* Days-related after her appearance in 2023. Huh??? Where did you even come up with that, Donna?? I feel like my posts have been crystal clear. I’ve never said anything about having her back on a contract basis with multiple episodes a week. Never. I have said just the opposite, and I have said it multiple times: continue to make brief appearances as she has done since 2015 actually, but on a recurring basis. I’m talking 1-3 episodes a month. Surely she could do that. The characters don’t need to appear any more often than that. It’s not the late 90s. I can’t make myself any clearer than that. At least three of you have been misinterpreting my words or just plain suck at reading comprehension.

I’m talking an appearance or two a month as Susan or Kristen or Sister Mary Moira. The characters are not needed for anything more than that. That’s why they need to ditch the recast. Eileen has made appearances in 2017, 2021, 2022, and 2023. So the idea that she suddenly won’t anymore based on absolutely no evidence is ridiculous. Nah. Her Ashley is awful. Brenda Epperson was the best Ashley. The Y&R wastes Eileen’s talents. Days provides her a showcase. I honestly never thought we’d get to a place where Days viewers actively *don’t want* Eileen goddamn Davidson to return. What a fucked up world we live in.

I’ve been saying I want Eileen back as Susan and Kristen even if it’s only one or two episodes a month. I have never said anything about a full-time gig. She has made time for Days in 2017, 2021, and 2022 while also appearing on the Y&R. Appearing every month in an episode or two is not “full time”. The recast hadn’t appeared in months prior to this week and she has only appeared as Susan in a handful of episodes over the past 18 months. Eileen could easily be doing these guest appearances.

She has returned in 2017, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Where are you getting this idea from that she doesn’t want to return? Has she said something since filming last year’s Thomas scenes? I’ve never claimed to be a “true” Days fan. My loyalty has always been to Reilly first and foremost which is why I originally quit watching in 2006. I am a fan of Reilly, his storylines, and his characters and cast. You must have me on ignore because you clearly haven’t seen the multiple posts where I’m advocating for Eileen to reclaim her roles even if it only means appearing once or twice a month. Better to have any Eileen than no Eileen (although no Eileen is still preferable to a recast).

Yes they do. Chad, Thomas, and Charlotte are all Hortons. There is a home for Matt at GH. If you truly liked Eileen, you’d want her back and Haiduk gone.

I’d rather they free Jack from the faux Jennifer by killing her off or divorcing him. Jack and Kate wasn’t entirely random. She wanted to sleep with him in 1993. JER had an affair story planned out for them but Matt complained about it because he didn’t think Jack would cheat with an infant daughter at home so the story never happened. Where are all my fellow Eileen fans? Maybe we need to do a Twitter blast to show Days we want her back.

Thank you!! I’m also of the opinion that characters like Jennifer and Kristen should just never be used again if they can’t get Missy or Eileen. I also feel the same about Carrie, Billie, Jack, Eve, pretty much any longtime fave. Donna, I’ve said that at least twice now. We Jnj fans don’t like McClain because she ruined our couple. And if you have to rewrite a character to fit a recast, DON’T USE THE [!@#$%^&*] CHARACTER!!!!! And yes, soaps, including Days, have had successful recasts before such as Drake Hogestyn and Robert Kelker-Kelly. However, Haiduk and McClain are NOT successful recasts! Days has not had a successful recast since Heather Lindell and that was twenty years ago. Characters become popular because of an actor’s portrayal, not the writing. It is Eileen’s idiosyncratic, nuanced performance that makes Susan and Kristen great characters. It’s Missy’s appeal and charisma that makes Jennifer a great character. The recasts can’t pull any of that off which is why the characters simply should never appear again if the originals are not available.

It’s also worth noting that Haiduk is dirt cheap. Remember, she was an Uber driver before Days. Eileen, on the other hand, knows her worth. So while some are fine with settling for Dollar Tree Kristen, I’ll continue to hold out for the real thing. Eileen is filet mignon compared to Haiduk’s hot dog.

That was only true in 2020 when she was waiting for the blowback of liking Candace Owens’ post to die down.

Having an Emmy doesn’t change the fact that she does not know how to embody the role of Jennifer Deveraux. She’s miscast. You’re eating it up because you’re a McClain stan. We JnJ shippers know she is [!@#$%^&*] in the role. But Missy doesn’t need to be on full time. Remember, she returned in 2021 and 2022. McClain has only appeared in a handful of episodes since then. Missy easily could have done them. It seems to me the show is keeping her off and choosing to go with an awful recast despite how much we JnJ shippers object to it. If they needed the role of Jennifer full time, why hasn’t the recast appeared in almost a year? The “full time” thing doesn’t add up. I want Missy and Eileen back in these roles on a regular basis even if they only air once or twice a month. Do you have any info on an Eileen return, Caroline?

I never said anything about full time/permanent. I’ve said a couple of times now that she could appear once a week or even as little as once a month. That’s neither permanent nor full time. Its time for Eileen to reclaim her roles on a part-time, open-ended recurring basis, much like how Wally does both Days and GH. I don’t doubt that some actresses have their fans but I stand by my statement. McClain, for example, is unable to capture the sweetness, charm, or likability of Missy’s Jenn. She fundamentally doesn’t understand the role. Same for the others I mentioned. People only like McClain because Missy happens to be a conservative. Meanwhile, we Jack and Jennifer shippers absolutely despise McClain. She ruined our supercouple. Anyone in the know: was Eileen filming at Days last year when she was off Y&R for a few months?

Eileen Davidson is the best actress Days has ever had so I am eagerly anticipating news on a return. No one could have done what she did with those five roles. Eileen tried to return in 2018. CBS blocked her. It’s only right that her roles be restored to her. Kristen and Susan aren’t five-day-a-week characters anymore like they were in the late 90s. Eileen could easily film an episode or two a week while also filming at Y&R especially since Days has so many dark weeks. We know this because she has done this since 2021. Days has had a string of awful recasts over the past few years (Haiduk, McClain, DePaiva, to name but a few) and it’s only right and just that the roles of Susan and Kristen be restored to their proper portrayer. I stopped watching Days when they recast Eileen’s roles and now I only tune in when Eileen appears. Susan is my favorite Days character of all time. Kristen is the greatest Days villainess of all time. Has anyone “in the know” heard anything about an upcoming Eileen return?
