First Rob Reiner gets killed by his son and now this news. What a horrible year for GH vets :( I really hoped he would do come back someday for a cameo or whatever. Damn. Rip

What made the chrolli storyline great was that Christian didn’t just fell for Olli. He was with Coco and tried fighting his feelings and even got aggressive. He slept with Olli one time and felt shame and said: yeah just wanted to try it. It’s not for me”.. It was realistically written and that made it so popular when Christian was finally admitting to himself that he actually Loves him. Felt sorry for coco though.

Verbotene Liebe has so many different vibes during its 4664 episodes it’s crazy! It was always soapy from the get go but they had to found their groove. They did that pretty fast. I have to say I forgot to mention Henning von Anstetten. I loved them too. Shame the actor committed suicide Some actors grew into their characters pretty fast and some struggled like all their run but were still charming. I know what u mean. Some sets look so good and exquisite for the 90’s and some like the put them together last minute from IKEA. I have to say I would rather tell people to start with verbotene Liebe classics than GZSZ tbh. GZSZ 1992 was rough as hell. It was even worse than unter uns 1994. Unter uns at least felt like they could be your real life neighbours so u overlooked some of the bad acting cause the stories made up for it and the general vibe. But GZSZ nearly needed 2-3 years to finally get there. When the scripts from the other show GZSZ was based on and they axed half the cast it already got better but GZSZ just stated to find its footing by mid 1994/early 1995. I recently tried rewatching Marienhof on YouTube. I still loved it but I didn’t remember some of the acting that bad for 2007/2008. It didn’t had the charm that it had back then. Verbotene Liebe on the hand still holds up. Verbotene Liebe had the strongest cast over their run. I have to admit that GZSZ never had that much of a strong cast besides during a few periods. They were just lucky to get the timeslot from Santa Barbara that was airing there for a while.

Chrolli was popular as hell. It wasn’t that the were running out of ideas for them after the strong storyline that started it all. The actor of Christian (Thore) had drunk sex with the Jessica character later on. And why did that happen? Cause both of them became a thing in real life and they are actually still together and have a family. Thore was on his way out anyway cause he became more of a host on the voice of Germany and some Other show I think. They had to write him out so they wrote in the Jessica and Christian hook up. What I give them is that they actually wrapped up chrolli with a two week return of Christian a couple of months later instead of just leave it in the air. Of course no happy ending but hey. It was during the 2010’s where the writers gave everyone a happy ending besides the couples we actually wanted lol I always thought verbotene Liebe had the strongest gay storylines in German television! But the chrolli storyline was so strong. The tried a lesbian pairing a year later cause of the hype with Rebecca von Lahnstein—#1 and the side character Miriam from the pub “No Limits” and they were quite popular but the writers seemed not really interested and gave up on it and when Jasmin lord left the role they brought Rebecca back with a recast and she was a full on lesbian and got paired with Marlene Wolf and the were popular as hell too

Yeah sure you are Welcome. Jan and Julia had that IT Factor which made this soap popular. I try not to Spoiler but when These Two left there was a Big Void to fill. You could tell that it was hard replacing them. My favorites of the early years: Jan, Julia, Clarissa, Arno, Anna AND especially Florian! He is still one of my all time favorites and some that join down the line in the first year. But no Spoilers there Can’t wait to hear your thoughts later :)

Verbotene Liebe is one of all time favorites. I‘m biased. I even went to Fan Meetings and my Family won a Trip to the Beach with Marienhof and verbotene Liebe to Play Volleyball against them lol I would say 1995 to 1996/97 are Peak. The Jan and Julia era. After that the Show still was good between 1997/98 but was a Bit struggling. 1998/99 the Show found it’s Groove again and kept being Strong until Like 2001/02. 2001-2002 had a Lot of good Storylines but there was a Bit of a dull era until a Major story ended and a new Family came along. I would say 2003-2004 saw a lot of changes and started to be on Fire again until Like 2007-2009. Lile every soap it had it’s up and downs but the Show was consistent. But i don’t know what happened between 2008/09 but just Like Marienhof it felt Off. But 2010-2012 were a good era again. I‘m a die hard Fan BUT the final 4-5 Years were Rough. Ansgar von Lahnstein and Tanja von Lahnstein (THE Ultimate GOATS) carried them last few years. Ratings were going down and i started blaming the writers and even the Network. But what really hurt the Show was going from 20 to 45 minutes. U could Tell the writers had no clue how to fill that extra time. But I will give it to ARD they actually really tried saving Verbotene Liebe until 2014. I mean they tried turning it into their current airing Daily Novelas Like Sturm der Liebe but that Concept failed. ARD even Let The Show Film for half a year in Spain on Mallorca. Concept failed. They tried so many things and some were good and some were really bad. A lot of damn cast changes. U had your core characters but Most characters were just staying for 1 to 3 Years besides a few. And the attempt to turn into a weekly was disgusting because of the storyline that didn’t Even made Sense. The RTL Reboot in 2020 was great and deserved a second Season tbh. I would say the First 3-4 months Are a Mixed bag but carried by a major Storyarc that Starts with Episode 3. I would say the show always had strong writting and the best acting out of early years from the German soaps tbh. Of course some are corny and felt Like Not good actors but it was charming. But stick with it. It gets good especially Around Episode 109! Oh and Major Spoiler : the von Sternecks will be replaced and recasted with better actors lol Even though the first Gero wasn’t that Bad and he’s still Fall famous as an Voice actor and the First Barbara was alright but the second brought the missing piece to it

The First 13/14 Years are Like 22 minutes and got upgraded to 45/47 minutes during the final 4-5 Years

Alle zusammen was Limited with the filming on Location but gave it their all. I was upset when it was cancelled. But I get why they did it

Jack had it tougher than his wife, who unwittingly slept with his doppelganger? I would say so cause at least she thought it was jack. And Marco did treat her right before it all came out. I don’t excuse this disgusting story but jack was about to get executed. I mean Kelly continues her mental, physical, and sexual torture of Jack. She with-holds food and water for days to punish him. When Jack tries to escape, she hits him on the head with a baseball bat and knocks him unconscious. Kelly starts drugging Jack's orange juice in order to brainwash him. Jack is weakened by the drugs and becomes more passive. Kelly notices the change inher captive and gives Jack more freedom such as uncuffing him from the bed and providing a knife to cut his food. They both have been abused and tortured but jack had a more brutal abuse than Phyllis cause at least she thought her abuser was her loving husband andhe did treat her properly. But I still think this story was too out there for Y&R. This Story would be more fitting for Days or GH than Y&R. It just grew on me cause it gave Peter as Jack something to do

I can’t wait for that trial! I love Michelle so much and did came to enjoy Gina as Phyllis but that she made it all about herself and Jack‘s Adventure was Like nothing left a bitter Taste in my mouth. I hated what Victor did to both characters with this Marco thing and that’s when Victor‘s character really died for me! To be fair Marco never meant to hurt her. I really think he actually fell for her while playing Jack. I mean Jack was tied up and had to put up with Kelly, some Old enemies of Marco. Nah Jack had it tougher for sure. Wait? That’s why Marisa looked familiar. That‘s Justin‘s wife? She was on his new Show Tracker too. Now it clicked with me

I was surprised cause Tina is a character actually made for KT. I remember people saying they turned Tina into a Mindy from GL rip off. KT is not a bad actress but it seems like she was letdown by the scripts :(

No? From what I read and saw he was quite popular especially with the FRIZ pairing. People were just a bit mad that Roger had to give up the character of Todd because of that lawsuit thing and had to take another character to stay on the show but overall they accepted him

What changed is the acting. Some of GH still feels like it’s modern and very 2025 and some feels like stuck between 1981 to 2004. Crazy but what can u expect from a show with 100 characters on contract and Reccuring. What also changed is the direction of them soaps! There is none! It feels like they made it up as they go. Like seriously they get an idea for a new story and it sounds good but they have no goal to reach and make it up as they start their story

I’m through July 2015 and August 3rd and 4th! Gosh I loooooveed Justin Hartley as Adam Newman/Gabriel Bingham lol Chelsea finds out the truth that Gabe is Adam and all of his games are falling apart against Victor but still hiding his identity. Such great stuff. But we lost Avery during this month. I can’t believe that they wrote Avery out with a brutal rape. Like what the actual f? But it made sense for her to kinda suspect Joe after everything he put her through. I’m still in the minority but Neil and Nikki would’ve made an amazing couple tbf. Their friendship is one of the best in Y&R history! F Victor The Marco/Jack story has grown on me. It’s too outlandish for a show like Y&R but it was still fun. We got Marisa introduced and she helped Jack to survive and come back to Genoa city. The Noah/Marisa story was so cute. They became friends and even fell for each other. BUT Phyllis finally knows the truth. I know people love Gina more than Michelle as Phyllis but what was that? Phyllis made that reveal all about herself. Of course a damn drug lord was playing Jack and made “love” to her and all because of Victor. That’s rape man. BUT to say to Jack: You have no idea what I’m going through!?!!?!?!? GIRL? Shut the F up. Jack has been kidnapped, tortured and abused by his long time rival Victor and his ex because of a damn company. He to fight for survival and even killed a lot of people on that ship to survive! But he doesn’t know what she’s going through? Pleaaaaaase shut up. I even think Jack had it tougher. I Do wonder how Michelle would’ve played the reveal tbh.

Lack of respect? No disrespect here but they brought this on themselves if we are being honest. I loved that Show and the cast did the best they could with the material given to them. But let’s be for real. The dialogue was corny as hell, the writting was hit or miss and Stories dragged on where u thought: didn’t i watched that Episode already? This show felt like a parody compared to other soaps and this is why some other people are Not Rating it or don’t Care at all. Others were just Not into the supernatural stuff. It kinda worked for Days cause days had always been out there and was something Never really done before.
