And Tara should have stuck around (with a better actress)That character had so much potential as Ashlands vengeful/vulnerable ex desperate to hold on to her position and her son. Possible love interest for Nick, Adam etc

That would be an welcome change, they don't seem be very good to let a woman stay with JUST ONE of them much long, einther they get into a war over such female or she gets dead, i really was put off by Sage's death back in 2016

Plus, Ron would be way too tempted to bring in young Tom and Alice onto the main show as a part of DiMera time travel or something. Do we really want Tom and Alice screwed up by him?

    No thanks😬

They get a completely separate licensing fee from Peacock for Beyond Salem. If they aren't doing a separate miniseries, there's no money to redirect to the main show.

Oh thanks, still they should reevaluate it

In contrast, Joanna Johnson came back as a twin and the dynamic was so different I really enjoyed Karen.

Me Too! Most people don't seem to realize how different From Caroline Karen actually is, of course the quick Glam up Refine Up she got doesn't exactly help, but I really enjoyed Karen, As both a Unsophisticated Girl in the middle of the Super Rich and as The Scheming Rich Girl

Letting Newman slip through their fingers will bite them in the ass.  The Dane/Ashland combo could have thrown a monkey wrench into SO many stories. From Kyle to Phyllis to Victori-ah /Billy/Lily to Jack, Summer etc.

Just a waste of a great actor.

Not that GH needs another character but Robert Newman could step in as Jimmy Lee or Jeff Webber with ease.

I wouldn't mind having Jimmy Lee coming back with Celia and a couple of kids , there's few Quartermaines left

Li struggling to say Sheila reminds me of a stroke disabled Molly Carter trying to reveal the baby switch.

Sh-Sheila, Sh-Sh-Sheila, lol yeah i will never forget that it was lame and the poor actress was trying to do the best of that,

also Bed-confined Finn actually was fine with me 'cause apparently someone finally remembered Sheila was a nurse once, she has medical training, How do ya think she survived so many times? It was time Someone acknowleged it

  6. First I would Like to thank Slick Jones for Helping keeping the Memory of several Daytime Actors and Actresses and Their Work ALIVE, we may not be the best of friends here but i admire his effort, so i would like to state that this isn't a Thread on the fashion of Soap Hoppers, no this one is a thread to pay your respects for actors, Dead or Alive, you find competent and talent but you don't think is well remembered today, This week i was inspired by: Tuddi Wiggins (Strange Paradise, Love of Life, GL, AMC), Liza Chapman (AW, TSS), Susan Trustman (AW), Beverly Penberthy (AW, ATWT would love to see that one), Marion Brash (Eunice on SFT, TEON) and last but Not Least Ellen Demming (GL), can you honestly say they are remembered as they should? That's All for now, Feel free to have your say

Drew Garrett was the original adult/teen Michael after the show ditched the red headed kid.  DG was ragey Michael that did kill Claudia.  He was around maybe a year?  Then recast during Claudia's murder trial with Chad Duell.  No one really knows why they fired Garrett, but he was pretty good.

oh oh right then, i'm not that familiar with the character and his casting history I only knew Chad "Baby Face" Duel, There's something about him, even as a straight man i find him cute

That was exactly what I meant!

The first half of 1995, if I remember correctly, was phenomenal. I think it was probably the most action packed period in the history of the show, with Taylor returning from the dead and revealing herself to everyone, Sheila going completely insane with the dungeon and the goodbye party, and Ivana's murder storyline going on all at once.

Then all those storylines culminated and were resolved within a very short period of time, leaving very little momentum after the summer. I vaguely remember a D storyline involving a triangle between Jessica, Dylan and Maggie, but not much else.

That's why I remember when I watched the entire cast gathered at the Bikini for Thorne and Macy's 1995 wedding I felt almost like the show was ending. There was just nothing very significant left to resolve at that point. Sheila was behind bars, Anthony was behind bars, Ridge had picked a wife, there was a party going on involving every character of the show. I don't recall the show reaching such a natural "end point" before or since.

2001 when Brooke Married Thorne, end that episode and it was very happy ending! The Single Fact Stephanie Gave her away was worthwhile

He's not wrong...haha. Though Ashley's "hypocrisy" towards Diane is definitely not on the same level as Nikki and Phyllis.

Yeah, she was never attempted murder, Just Impregnated herself with Victor's Sperm, can't say the same for the other too, It was time Diane went FULL Renée DiMera and told Off GC and Left her past behind, i mean really, did anyone over 30 NOT Commit a crime there?

And know she's not 25 anymore lol?  I wonder if the reason they didn't ask Julianne Morris back is because it was such a stupid plan.  Not to mention the real Greta would have just helped them if Ciara asked.

YES! She was a Nice Girl, My recent looking around showed a number of People Preferred her with Eric over Nicole (their Young Love was really sweet), If she was Back They could pair her with Eric Again, Finally give him a stable relationship for a change, It really is beyond me why they made those crazy storylines of Gina Coming Back through Hope a Dozen Times though the years and Never Tought about Bringing Greta Back for A Visit, Maybe for the 50th Anniversary! I think she still acted at the time, She Had Made an Appearence on Y&R as Amy Wilson in November 2014

  11. I've never commented on This Topic and probably never will again, BUT someone shared the date and an Intriguing picture of this episode and after i watched it I thought it would Fit right in here

They mentioned Greta a lot in the first Beyond Salem, so I thought it was a possibility, but I guess not.  I don't think Julianne Morris acts anymore.  Hopefully someday someone will tell us who Greta's father is lol.

I Know! Writing out a character like that, Leaving Us with That HUGE Doubt, that was cruel! And her Returning on a Beyond Salem would be Nice, They seem to have far more Budget than DOOL Itself! I Would love to see Greta anyway BUT A Budgeted Kingdom just wouldn't work to me lol

I remember SG saying she wanted to become a writer when she left the show 30 years ago, so good for her.  I always wondered if she regretted leaving the show and I guess she did.  I wonder what would have happened to Isabella if she stuck around.

According to her family history, she would've probably turned into a Gangsta, Just Like Kristen did, all for the sake of Jarlena

I've always been a little surprised that Harding Lemay did not choose to bring Janet Matthews back to the show.  Janet seems like the kind of internally conflicted character Lemay would have enjoyed writing for.  Plus, she could have provided motherly advice to Pat, Russ, and Alice after Mary Matthews died.  And Janet most certainly would have had conflicts with her sister in law, Liz.

I like to think they let her off Canvas over Respect for the actress, if not who could've play her

Lisa had moved on to secret Storm and only played her new role for a short time before the accident.

i think Janet was dropped once Agnes Nixon took over.

Janet was another of Irna Phillips older single gals who entered into doomed affairs with married men - see Edith Hughes and Kim Reynolds.

Thanks for The Info, Makes Sense as Agnes was always about Youth, while I'm now sad to discover this new story on Liza/Janet, at least she had the chance to have her baby before passing

Not sure. It was over 50 years ago, she wasn’t on soaps for long, didn’t make a Julianne Moore/Meg Ryan impression, and so on.  Maybe she’ll do a Locher Room soon and spill tea about Mary Stuart. 😉

That would be great, Even if she deserves someone better than Alan👀

"I went into soap operas and started to learn how to work with cameras," she told Women's Wear Daily in 2017. "I was kind of the girl that everything happened to. I was living in New York, and I never left New York to live in L.A., so I'm here because all my plans failed.

    Thanks!

The original Matthews girls. Susan Trustman as Pat and Liza Chapman as Janet were frontburner for the first two or so years. Jacquie as Alice was supporting.

Susan left show business after AW and Liza died in a car crash after leaving the show. Rare to see a photo of all three

My and I thought I knew things about this soap, I never heard of "Janet"
