Melody Libonati was the original Samantha Vernon. Look back through this thread to around 2011 as there was a discussion about her portrayal. She only lasted about 6 weeks and was a brunette as I recollect. Someone has posted a photo back in 2011 of the Vernon family and Melody was featured in that image.

Thank You! I WILL!!! this thread brings new info everyday

I am pretty sure that Nancy Pinkerton had left the show prior to the arrival of Pat Ashley.     I began watching shortly after the Vernon family was introduced to the show.  I remember the original Dr. Will Vernon, but the original Samantha had already left and had been replaced by Julie Montgomery.   (I cannot locate the name of the original actress.)

I was watching when Victor Lord died.   Nancy Pinkerton may have played the role of Dr. Dorian Cramer Lord at that time.

wasn't Julia Montgomery The Original Samantha? I know Susan Keith Played the role between her tenures

I don't think anyone is unhappy. I think people are pointing out the lengths they have to go to to see a vintage episode that other genres would have already put out  on DVD years ago.

I do get that, I for one thing know that better than some, but i really think can't do much about it, It's all on the dumb Hands and heads of P&G executives

  4. This seems the Right place to leave it, I had a hard time not crying and that's because my love for soaps isn't even a decade old, you grow to love these people like family

Susan broke my heart here, But btw i never knew Arlene Dahl (Lorenzo Lamas' Mom) was on AMC, But she lived well over 90 right? I also want to take the opportunity to ask about Patricia Barry she played "Peg English" who was she? A relative of Phoebe's apparently

Slight correction. Three of the Brooks sisters were originals: Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie), Trish Stewart (Chris), Pamela Peters (Peggy). Victoria Mallory (Leslie) was the recast. Janice Lynde (original Leslie) was on One Life to Live in 1984.

Considering I've never seen Peggy except for here and a brief scene from the first Episode I really wouldn't Know, so thanks for the heads up

You mean P&G? Or the collector.

Unless episodes are in HD quality, I Don think episodes would sell very well, at least not consistently. This is why B&B is streaming their classic episodes on their own YouTube channel and even there, people often complain about the poor visual quality.

By the standards of today, I don’t see many people buying anything less than 1080p quality. The SoapsClassics people understood this, which is why every single DVD that they sold was in such clear visual quality.

    You said it!

I meant P&G. You made a great about the quality. Let's say P&G came out with a streaming service for their soaps. And it was in HD quality. I do think P&G would make money out of it. I do know all of us SON members would subscribe.

That's true, I would if I could, of course restoring such episodes would take some time but I'm pretty sure it would be worth it, isn't The Doctors Proving it?

Saw Kin posted this throwback on Twitter. He was a cutie back then, and I think the only character on GH I have liked as both a nice guy and a total unapologetic scumbag.  Scotty is such a great character.

well now we know why Laura fell for him

BTW i don't know if someone already shared it but i don't think it gets more classic than that

I watched the show from 1968 to 1983, and then sadly gave up on it as Paul Rauch crippled it. So I was there for the unveiling on the original portrait of Dorian at Llanfair, and to see the different Merediths. Yes, I am old AF, LOL.

Wow then You might answer Me some Questions!

    1. How you liked Trish as Meredith? Was she much different than Lynn?

    2. I heard great Things about Gillian Spencer as Viki and her Nikki as well but What about Joanne Dorian Viki #2?? was she any good?

    3. Was There a version of the Portrait for Each Dorian? if so do you remember Claire Malis Version?

    4. How was the chemistry Between Pat and Dorian from the Recasts? From Nancy to Claire to Robin?

Sorry if i'm being too curious

Ashland commissioned it, and Victoria destroyed it in a rage after learning of his cancer fakery.

exactly, she hit it against a pointy thing (i guess they didn't retake for lacking copies, 'cause Amelia's overall performance for the scene was good but not as conving to me when she destroyed the portrait) then ran out and hit her car against a tree, did she kill Sharon's man? this was the last episode i've seen in a while when i got back to it he was dead she was not

It wouldn't surprise me if they had one done that was more ambigious done to hang in the background while working out who would play re-cast Fallon. Since they wouldn't focus the scene on it, it didn't need to be perfect, just not obviously be Pamela Sue Martin.

In My Ideal World that Was Sherilyn Wolter, If you watch GH's 1980's episodes you'll see that she would be a far more plausible choice for Fallon than Emma, but then with the writing Emma Got i think it would basically be all the same Wimpy Fallon
