Somerset Discussion Thread
The jingles story -- under Slesar -- was written to be more of a complex psychological story of a woman on the edge of sanity. But when he was let go and a new head writers was brought in, they turned the story around and went with the Aunt

Any Capitol Fans Here?
I had read somewhere that when Capitol started revolving around the casino (Sam owned one, Wally worked there. Jordy and everyone else would go play the slots....). I wonder if there was to be some sort of a spinoff in the works that was set in a casino...any ideas?

I agree with you, Eric. I was thrilled hen Ceara became a major player in Pine Valley. All I knew about GF was she had played Laura on GH. I hated when she left.

Loving/The City Discussion Thread
I had read once before that Harding Lemay was hired as a consultant for the 4 ABC serials. His main gripe about The City was the fact that it didn't have families, like the general mother/children/father. But I believe it did have families, but it was more of a "we are family" kinda creation.

Unpopular opinions: cancelled soaps edition
I agree with you 💯%! I still watch the videos on YouTube sometimes and get caught up in them all over again. I had read that since they did keep the knowledge of who the real Todd was under wraps for so long and continued to slowly build up the suspense, the shows numbers climbed up. Of course, my opinion is that when Head Writer Ron Carlivati was able to write the stories he wanted as opposed to the dribble Frons dictated to him, he showed what a masterful and creative writer he is. Had he been able to write what he wanted all along, perhaps we would have had Viki, Todd, Tea, Jessica and Clint a while longer The reason that plot twist was concocted was due to Steven Kanaly becoming extremely bored with his part of the show ans threatened to leave. Larry Hagman ☆ in order to keep his friend on the show -- approached TPTB with the suggestion to make Ray Jock's illegitimate child. (Not sure if you knew that, but was hoping to add a reason of WHY to your question)

Recasts on shows: good, bad, in between
Maybe I am in the minority, but I did not care for the character of Jessica Buchanan til Bree Williamson took over the role. She brought Jessica to adulthood with sexiness and charm. Torpey's version was innocent and pure. Like I said, maybe I am in the minority.

I was a huge fan of Lois Kibbee, only seeing her as Elizabeth Saunders on OLTL. Do you happen to know who she played on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW and possibly what her storyline was? Thank you!! Do you happen to know Lois Kibbee's storyline in SFT?
