  1. YES! They tried to, and I hate saying this, but they turned her into what they stereotypically saw a Latina as. They could have gone to any of the White actresses, and they went after Ava Lazar, simpy because she was playing a Latina character. Even Lazar felt this, per this quote: ❝ Yes, I started out as blond on the show and one day the producers decided that everyone on the show was blond so I should be a brunette. So from one day to the next I had to color my hair. First with spray dye which was not very pleasant and then with real color. It would have been fine if I could have remained a chestnut brown however they insisted that it was not dark enough so they made my hair black, which I felt was way too harsh. Not to mention that I felt it was a cliché because I was playing Latin on the show that I would have to have dark hair ! If you notice now most Latina's have blond hair. Look at Jennifer Lopez! I really felt they had a great opportunity with the Latin theme on the show to do something unique but instead they went with the safer and more cliché storyline. I still feel they missed a wonderful opportunity! ❞ Lazar's Santana was vulnerable, yet strong in her intentions. She was ⏤ from my point of view ⏤ a fashionable interior designer, who wanted to find the baby she had given birth to. And she took the opportunities put in front of her to succeed in finding that baby. The beginning of Margaret Michaels was rocky, but, by the time she was beginning to find her footing, they [unfortunately] recast her, again! Lazar's poise and dialect was just perfect for Santana. She spoke with such elegance. Lazar's exit was the first misstep the Dobsons had.
  2. I don't see the download on the link you sent.. just streaming?
  3. .. at this point, I would take that over Alarr any day, honestly. Give her a one-year opportunity. She brings high-stakes drama, and that is both a positive and negative. And the canvas needs that. The stakes presently are so mildly they could be blinked-and-missed. And she should pick the music up a bit; maybe those sex-sax sounds could be ditched. Jill Farren Phelps, from my point of view, is not a creative executive producer; she is a business executive producer, and I don't always see that as a negative; fans act from a personal point of view, and I do believe EPs shouldn't always be acting from a personal point of view. If I have found anything in my job, you cannot play things as personal. She has a track record of some successful recasts, as well, so we could see some solid arrivals coming into Days of Our Lives, and that would be exciting. She's made some great finds, as well. She found people like Jason Thompson & Dominic Zamprogna, and I can only imagine what she could bring into the fold. Imagine a blackout-type storyline on Days of Our Lives? It could work if done right... but she also needs the right writing team. I think if she had the right writing team behind her, she could do something worth while within a year's timeline. Phelps' role on The Young and the Restless was to make the soap "financially feasible", and I do think she did that. again, I understand the hesitation of hearing/seeing Phelps' name, but I don't necessarily hate the idea. It is not who I'd genuinely want in the role, but I would welcome it. Hate to say it, but, at this point, anyone is better than Alarr. My main hope is that they vet some qualified candidates, and names we've never seen before.
  4. I would hope they would... but I doubt they're going to want to bring it up, at the risk of alienating their allegiance with having cast and others on. I hope to be proven wrong, though.
  5. Hate to say it... but, I doubt they'll say much.
  6. Yes, they did. It's the O.G. Charlotte back in the role. A surprise un-recast recast. Maybe, but the actor in real life is 14, so I am assuming Rocco is around the same age... and, Scarlett Fernandez is 13 playing 15 (around the age a freshman in high school is), so... yeah, this casting decision is... weird. Welcomed but weird.
  7. Well, let's not forget: following Marquess' exit, Gareth Philips & Emma Smithwick both succeeded him as series producers. Philips lasted most of 2011, and Smithwick came in at the tail-end of 2011. By September 2012, Bryan Kirkwood was back. I would not be surprised if Kirkwood was announced to be exiting EastEnders and returning to Hollyoaks by the end of the year.
  8. It was done [likely] due to Charlotte being a teenager girl entering into her high school years, and her sole grandmother is not around to talk things out with. Rocco has Olivia and Sonny, etc.
  9. ❝ As Deadline reported, about 30-40 people — primarily women — were interviewed in the investigation, which probed accusations of inappropriate comments and physical contact, including groping and forceful kissing, and revealed a toxic environment on the show that allegedly had been fostered by Alarr for years. ❞
  10. Today's episode featured the return of Scarlett Fernandez, who last appeared as Charlotte Cassadine in 2021. The role was last portrayed by AnaSofia Bianchi in April 2023. Both Charlotte & Dante were visiting Lulu... could the long-sleeping Spencer daughter awaken soon?
  11. Funny how we've discussed this prior... and it shows up today. Edited but it's here.
  12. https://twitter.com/lysie1984/status/1684926612892991489 Sorry if this shouldn't be posted.
  13. Thanks so much.
  14. I think Spinelli still does have legal custody of Georgie, but given how infrequent Bradford Anderson has been appearing, it likely makes sense for Georgie to be with Maxie at the moment. Plus, didn't Spinelli say Georgie was returning to Port Charles to spend more time with Maxie? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Truthfully, I'd love to see Eric & Theodore Olson somehow return to the role. And I am wondering why Caleb and Kyler Ends (then-James) only lasted a short-time in the role. Ultimately, I'd love for the role of Wiley to be aged up a bit. Maybe 2024? I feel like they're holding off to play the Nina card a bit more at this point. Episode filler at this point, especially if cast are not due back on-set until next week (possibly?). I'm forgiving flashbacks/filler scenes right now, as filming was done in-advance for the July break. I'm surprised Carly isn't over twice per week doing Michael's laundry and starching his underwear. Who knows, but it is brilliant. I will say, in yesterday's episode, Brooke Ann Smith did appear younger... but she still reads a 39-year-old person.
  15. Her scenes will air August 3 as a one-day guest stint.
  16. nüGeorgie is a real natural. I liked Violet in the beginning, but she's become this untouchable child, so I'm over her. Wiley looks demonic... and I'd like him more if he'd just... cough on Willow. The actor seems to only enjoy working with Cynthia Watros; he looks bored with Chad Duell & Katelyn MacMullen. And Maxie can barely get a house, you think she wants to invest in a second tablet? Haha. But Mac questioning who Harry Styles was was a super cute moment. Who knows; makes me wonder if it's a jab at Haley Pullos, though. Hey. I enjoy doing that. Well, the whole process. It's weirdly... relaxing sometimes. I love seeing Kristina Wagner be given material, consistently, since upping to regular status following two cast members firing themselves. And her in "grandma" mode is brilliant.
  17. @DRW50 Amazing find with that episode! Thank you so much!
  18. Yeah; it was brilliant bringing Kate Collins in.
  19. FIRE!! Genuine fire, despite the green production model (which came as a result of Alarr becoming co-executive producer).
  20. Bateman, for me, was the C.C. for me. Wish he had been given more time. The problem is with each Santana recast they lost the plot on the core of who Santana was, and it was just... ruined. Thomson replacing Lester mid-episode was always an interesting choice (a-la what they did with Babe on All My Children), but I find it more interesting they filmed TWO edits of the cast.
  21. No. That photo was taken in January 2018, and has been in the opening rotation since the black opening in 2018; her shot is one of the ones that has never been updated since the slideshow opening debuted.
