The Heather problem, for me, stems back to the "writer" returning the role and turning her into a caricature, which is something he thinks he does well, and like most: he does not.

I'm half-way through the first season and it's quite solid.

I think it's a fresh space for them to embrace it. the fact Bold has largely ignored the community, despite it being a FASHION soap, is ridiculous.

I think, if anything, they could "pray" around the dinner table. But I genuinely don't see religion being a focal point in an American daytime soap. Because, even when I notice Days of Our Lives trying to re-visit that, it's beyond jarring in today's world. As for LGBTQ+ representation, I'm hopeful Michele Val Jean will include it ALL!

I think it's difficult to include religion in a 2020-decade landscape of daytime. I could see it being a touching point but not as focal as it is on Greenleaf.

Shelley Curtis, per IMDb, last served as co-executive producer on the 2015 film The Morning After. And she directed two handful of episodes of Bold from 2016 to 2020 (last credited episode was March 10). I'm disappointed Ginger Smith did not do more after All My Children. I thought she did an amazing job adapted a model of the American daytime soap and transformed it into something new and fresh. It had edge and as she promised, it wasn't our mother's soap opera. I thought Jennifer Pepperman did fine with One Life to Live, but I was less impressed with that reboot than I was the former. I adore Frank Valentini at General Hospital, but even I'm beginning to think a change may need to happen. However, I do worry about it, too. I think Valentini is becoming more of a "yes man" to Disney-ABC Television⏤whose hands have been pulling the puppet strings for far too long at this soap (dating back to the Shelly Altman & Jean Passanante era)⏤and I worry bringing in another executive producer could push Disney-ABC's controlling agenda. Facebook posters are deranged cyber bully grannies/gays who need to be off social media.

I've begun watching Greenleaf on Netflix, and wow.... the introduction and scenery is exactly what I would love to see from The Gates. And it can be done.

Unfortunate.

I think it's because they're not shooting episodes as collective pieces, but more-so scenes to cut-paste into episodes. It's what is so jarring right now.

They also don't have over-night set crews, and have not since COVID.
