I think it's mostly speculation based on the discussion in this thread, LOL That came from soapoperaspy, and their headline of the item on their site has a question mark.

Here is ET-Canada's staff response to EB's twitter rant - And note they show a clip from their recent set visit where they interview Kate Linder, and Kate says it's important to keep your day job.

The Talk visited the Y&R set in February, and that set visit aired March 20 on The Talk. EB talked about his great memory! LOL

I was completely fine with Sonny being a background/support character! The character ate the show for ages with crappy storylines. I absolutely hate that they are focusing on mob storylines again. Makes me want to stop watching.

With the merging of the two simultaneous threads, some context got lost ... As mentioned earlier, the silhouette of the (headless) man and woman walking at the beginning is MTS and EB in their gala wardrobe. The opening used to end with the silhouette of (headless) Michelle Stafford, but that's gone in this new opening.

The ET-Canada Y&R special aired on Friday evening March 17 (and repeating Monday daytime March 20)... *coincidentally* airing the same weekend as the Chris Wallace interview of Longoria and Braeden’s rant. (The ET-Canada special was filmed in February but aired in March.) The entire special is now on the ET-Canada youtube channel. At 10:22, the host talks about *successful* actors who got their start on Y&R and she mentions Tom Selleck, Vivica A. Fox, Eva Longoria, Paul Walker, and Shemar Moore. And then they showed clips from Selleck, Longoria, Walker, and Moore. Joshua Morrow uses a sort-of sultry voice to say that "Eva Longoria is one of the sexiest women that has ever graced our stages" (I don't know how to timestamp YT but just scroll to 10:22)

I recently read a science article that there has been a historical pattern of misdiagnoses of some Black people as having schizophrenia, when they don't ... because ... The very *real* and *rational* fear of racists coming after you overtly and subtly can cause you to complain a lot about this very real situation in our society. And you can be reasonably upset and distrustful, and that doesn't make you crazy at all. It's actually logical, and makes you watch your back with good reason. And also it makes you *angry* at life situations with good reason. But ignorant doctors have misunderstood this and assumed it was paranoia and crazed anger, and thus misdiagnosed a few Black people as being schizophrenic. If GH actually explored this, that would be interesting. However, I imagine they're probably retconning Marshall for plotpoint purposes only.

Everything with Alex is stupid meaningless bravado. Furthermore, today's Alex/Gwen scene was just a marketing thing from Days: One of the first things that happened on All My Children when it began streaming on Hulu, was that RSW's character Pete went down on Liza's daughter. So the Days is now copying that AMC-Hulu stuff, by RSW doing that with Gwen on one of the first weeks of fully-Peacock-produced episodes. Nope Ron. I still don't like Alex. Lucy arriving at the Metro Court looking like that was EVERYTHING. I remember watching her very first year and that was actually how she was! I wondered if it was an homage and it's so cool to hear Ms Herring say it was.

Fen works doing music (or in the music business) in Nashville. Fen's boyfriend works as a buyer for Fenmore's in Nashville.

I wonder why this is "news". I thought this was common knowledge. I'm old enough that I have been voting since 1976. I remember the 1980 election, and when it was later revealed exactly as the article described: that someone "sought to sabotage then-President Jimmy Carter's reelection by asking Middle Eastern leaders to keep the American hostages until after the election". I remember it being known and discussed back then and I remember being outraged. I don't know if I knew about any details of a deal/promise, but it was definitely known that the hostages were delayed from being freed to make Carter look weak, so that he would lose. I think that might have come out during the Iran-Contra hearings.

For the past month the show has been posting online old clips and photos that include Paul/DD. Lauralee Bell's social media has included old photos of him. On ET-Canada last week, they asked actors who the best kisser was of the actors they'd kissed during their time on Y&R, and Lauralee Bell picked Paul. I believe other actors have included him in old photos. The show's dialogue over the past few months has been clearly stating that Paul is active in Genoa City, is still the police chief, and he is still married to Christine: Paul was discussed in January dialogue between Christine and Danny. Lauren described Paul fondly at her party (TEB anniv episode Jan 25) where Lauren tells Fen's boyfriend about her past, how she was once with Paul, and he's now the police chief - and they showed an old clip of Paul and Lauren during the episode. During Heather&Lucy's recent visit to Genoa City, they told Daniel they'd just visited Paul and Christine, describing a scene that was offscreen. There seems to be an intent to make Paul part of the show, yet DD isn't. I've no idea what the behind-the-scenes reasons are for any of this.

Marcia speaks from her own facebook page which she titles "secrets revealed". Just call her by her own title, the owner of her facebook page. Sometimes she has actual sources who tell her things that turn out to be true. Sometimes it is *somewhat* true but doesn't quite turn out in the way she predicts. And some of it doesn't happen at all. Or she gets scoop from other places and claims it as her own.

LOL well yeah the *multinational* Newman Corporation consists of only that one room! So sometimes Victor wanders in and sits in Victoria's chair. But it's not his chair anymore.

Monday March 23- Jerry O'Connell visits the Y&R set. He sits in VICTORIA's chair. Notice Victor's portrait replaced by horses. Victoria's son in a photo. And if you watch the show, it's VICTORIA's chair. He incorrectly blathers on and on about it being Victor's chair. No. Victor stepped down a while back. Victoria runs the company. It would be one thing if Jerry said "this was Victor's office for a long time and it's iconic." But no. He even said he was touching Victor's paper clips. Nope.

Interesting how things color my perception. I thought she was talking about how her professional employment headhunter clients might not understand her being a soap actress. My subconscious mistakenly "heard" that because I read EB's tweet before watching the clip. But she didn't say that! I watched the clip again, and she didn't even say "soap actress". she said "dumb actress". She didn't want her clients to know she was on Y&R because that would mean she was an actress. She didn't want her clients to know she was ANY kind of actress in ANY show/film/play, because she thought her clients would have the stereotype that actresses are dumb. But again, as I said earlier in this thread, she wasn't denigrating her acting job. She was afraid her *clients* would denigrate it.
