Welcome back, Samantha Gene! It was too bad that they couldn't get Ali Sweeney back for John's memorial, but Marlena and Sami's scenes today made up for it. They were beautiful. The apology to John (with flashbacks) was a long time coming too. And I'm glad that Sami also got to have scenes with Johnny. I like how she comforted him over everything that he's been going through. It was similar to the way that Marlena comforted her just a little while before that. And it was really nice to see. I have mixed feelings about the reasons why Sami isn't going to be in court supporting Johnny though but considering Ali's schedule, I guess they had no choice. And, welcome back JJ too. I wish the new team would invest more in his character. There's still a lot that they could do with him. A lot that doesn't involve him just being a possible spoiler for Chad and Cat. And I don't think that the ship has sailed yet for him and Gabi either. They dress him very well too 😂😂 Chad and Cat in the elevator did nothing for me though. And making Julie the bad guy in that situation seems a little Ron-like. Luckily, her and Marlena's talk about grief overshadowed that.

Agreed. There are some things I’m not liking, but I still prefer this over Ron’s work. It feels more like Days of our Lives again

Great post @j swift It seems we were also spared a potential Gabi/Alex pairing too, which I think was a very good choice to make. And, I also think Doug III being written out suddenly was a pivot as well.

And there’s still so much they could do with Shawn. The possible relationship with Jada had so much potential. It could’ve even had an effect on Belle and EJ. And if we’re stuck with Gwen, JJ could be apart of that.

He's grown on me, but I can do without him. He just needs to be written as more of a villain; the romantic lead stuff doesn't work.

Samantha Gene! I like that Johnny's trial is going to start picking up some momentum. As for Xander/Sarah, I don't dislike what's going to happen, but it seems like it's gonna be clowny and dopey.

Stephanie, kind of aged in real time, if you think about it. Since she's spent so much time away from Salem. I'd say mid-30s, which is what she's supposed to be.

Agreed. I actually liked them, and the storyline in the beginning but by this point the ship has sailed. In some ways, Kristen needs a fresh start even more than Brady does.

I would definitely recast. I just don’t know with who 😂 EOB as Theresa was probably just meant to be a big joke.

I’m torn about who his endgame should be; either Chloe or Theresa. Which is why I think they should’ve brought Theresa back instead of Gwen. There’s more story for her anyway.

I’m actually on the other side. I would prefer (temporary) Brady/Sarah, than Xander/Gwen 2.0, and especially not Brady/Gwen 😂 Gwen still doesn’t have much a purpose for me at this point.

Nothing really big happened. Gwen was talking mostly about their past relationship and how Sarah tried to change him into something that he’s not, and he wasn’t too interested. But he did see Brady and Sarah hugging at the end though

The potential couples were on full display today. But most of them seemed a little kooky. I didn’t necessarily hate it but… I just don’t know. Maybe it wasn’t the right choice lol Getting stuck in an elevator is a classic soap trope but Chad and Cat still don’t do much for me, as a couple. Maybe another couple should’ve gotten stuck in there, not Chad and Cat. Again, Ron is gone now. They could have brought Abigail back and given her, Chad and the kids a happily ever after. Chad did bring up a lot of interesting points about EJ and Stefano though. And Sarah taking the stairs at the hospital to “prove a point” was a little stupid lol but I did like her and Brady bonding about their kids and the situations that they’re each in with their kid’s other parent. I’m actually looking forward to whatever might happen between them. I also enjoyed Marlena’s scenes with Rachel. And it proved even more, to me, how ridiculous and unnecessary it was to have made Rachel a demon spawn, even though she is Kristen’s daughter. This is a welcome change. And I’m glad that we got word that Sami’s coming back. Btw, maybe I missed it at some point, but where’s John’s urn? As for what Rita said about Stefano’s death, I guess this means that Hope is officially off the hook lol but yeah, all of this is still not necessary.

The lack of interest in Shawn and JJ is quite obvious, and that kinda sucks
