It would be a much more organic way for Chanel to turn to Alex or somebody else, instead of this Body&Soul crap. It's so obviously forced. And for Alex just to give up everything to Xander so easily, especially since they don't even like each other that much, is ridiculous as well. And out of character for Alex, imo. If it were me, I would keep Alex working at Titan but have him secretly be undermining Xander and the company. He could be like spying for Dimera or something.

I feared that after so many episodes without Body & Soul, it would come back with a vengeance and I was right 🤮🤮 Do some of the dailies for next week sound good, at least?

Johnny and Chanel are boring because there’s no investment or interest in them. They’re in the same boat that Tripp and Wendy were in, once they finally got together. The four of them could have been in a messy quad but Ron and co. didn’t take the chance with them. They can blame budgets, guarantees, availability, whatever, but it’s so obvious that if they had wanted to make it happen, they could have. As for current storylines, Chanel’s miscarriage would have been the perfect catalyst to cause problems for her and Johnny. One of them could have wanted to have another baby right away, while the other one didn’t. You could have also had EJ or Paulina pressuring either of them for a grandchild. Which leads to a lot of disagreements and arguments between the two of them, which then pushes Chanel to have an affair, as opposed to this Body&Soul crap and Johnny just being jealous about Alex. The fact that both of them are completely fine after losing a child is ridiculous.

Great post @dc11786 I’ve been meaning to respond. I was a fan of the Philip/Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie quad as well. It was a solid B-storyline that played out for like two years and I was impressed by the way it was all plotted out. And Tying Vivian’s revenge against Carly to it was brilliant. Plus, at the time, I loved that Philip was finally broken out of that endless loop with Shawn and Belle. I was disappointed too when Philip, Nathan, and Stephanie were written out. They could have recast Nathan and Stephanie at least. I’m never a fan of when characters just give up and leave town. It’s makes them look bad, and in some cases, seems out of character. To me, that was Chris Whitesell’s one flaw as a writer. He’s writes these well plotted storylines that play every beat and build to a shocking and amazing climax but the follow up storyline is always either lousy or just doesn’t happen. Which also happened at that time with Sami/EJ/Nicole and Fake Rafe and happened again a few years later with Eileen Davidson’s return as Kristen. But he made Dena Higley look good, so there’s definitely talent there 😂😂

Gabi, what are you praying for? You know you ain’t going to Heaven 😂😂😂 Today was broken down very strangely. I thought it was a little odd that the bomb went off at the beginning of today’s episode. That would have been the perfect Friday cliffhanger. And it would have been better than the sort of cliffhanger that we ended up getting. If they had waited, it could have allowed other characters to get caught in the blast as well, like Jada or Chad and NotAbigail, for example. I also find it odd that Stefan, Ava, everybody couldn’t take down this bumbling little sad sack with a tiny knife. But whatevs, just glad that this storyline is ending. And if today indicated that we’re going to get an actual EJ/Gabi pairing, I don’t mind it. I just wish they hadn’t rushed it. Mark didn’t seem to fit in with today’s episode though, but it was nice to see him. He meshes well with other characters. I just feel bad about who he’s (probably) gonna be paired with 😂😂 Speaking of that pairing, we haven’t seen that character in a while and it’s been great lol the way he’s been shoved down our throats, you’d think Days would be lost without him. Hopefully, Janet or the new writers see that and take action.

He seriously needs to die. So sick of this mf’er. 🤬 I wonder how he’s connected to the Greene’s though. Ava really needed to slap the s*it out of Stefan. I’m glad that she got to tell him off though. I was almost offended on her behalf lol I also found it a little ironic that misogyny was mentioned in their scene, especially considering who the head writer is (was) And why exactly was the whole Gabi/Melinda thing written like a big joke today? Writing it like that is making this lousy storyline even worse. Chad did look hot though, and I liked his scenes with Kristen today. The only thing missing from that storyline is Kristen having more scenes with NotAbigail. Btw, I wonder why Billy Flynn has a tattoo of a flower on his arm 😂 And, me when they said that Kristen was on the PTA

I still don’t like this storyline, and I still don’t like Connie but today was good. I liked the way everything was built up. And, Gabi does kinda deserve all this. I just hope that when this is all over, she and Stefan don’t immediately reunite and have everything go back to normal. If there’s one thing that this lousy Connie storyline can do, it can transition into something really good for all of these characters. I thought the way that Roman was used today was pretty good as well, even though poor Josh Taylor can’t seem to muster a shout to save his life lol But it was nice to finally see him out of the Pub. EJ vs Paulina would be a lot better if it somehow caused conflict for Johnny and Chanel. Btw, who’s the handsome cop with Jada?
