Craig's one of those characters who I'd believe was bisexual all along. It would be an interesting twist (if this is where they're going) that Nancy has known their entire relationship that Craig was bi and had relationships with men before her, but he's also loved and genuinely been attracted to Nancy this whole time. And they never revealed it to Chloe, who resents being kept in the dark.

    THIS!

Season three is as impressive as I remember. For a teen show, this has such impressive writing and I see why it's so difficult to recreate the type of magic they had here. I miss the longer scenes shows used to have. There is so much character development we've lost in an effort to speed through things. This Brenda/Dylan/Kelly triangle today would likely just be another triangle, but the fact that it takes Brenda 13 episodes to find out made it so much more impactful. I also love that they had the complication of Brends flirting with Rick in Paris and the lack of sex between Dylan and Kelly. They spent the season really building the Brenda/Dylan and Brenda/Kelly dynamics so by the time it hit, it exploded.

Another relationship I love that I feel is overlooked is David and Kelly. Making them siblings was a clever way of maturing David and integrating him into the group in a real way as his relationship with Donna developed. The weakest part of the season for me continues to be Brandon, Andrea and Steve. The ironic thing is that Andrea has good chemistry with both guys that is completely ignored. Brandon/Andrea was teased at the start of the season, but they instead put him with a string of forgettable romances while she mostly sat on the backburner or in Blaze related plots. Steve is just kinda there.

I wish they would've gone there with Steve and Andrea. They had good chemistry since back when they had made out that one time. Imagine Brandon's growing jealousy as Steve and Andrea get closer. Brenda calling her brother out for being jealous. Steve and Andrea confronting him with Brandon admitting he had feelings for her.

Faulkner, actor Michel Keaton (who was nominated) is the former husband of the late Caroline McWilliams (Janet Norris) on The Guiding Light.

I was surprised when I found out that Caroline McWilliams also played LuAnn Pruitt, Ray Pruitt's boozy white trash mother on Beverly Hills 90210.

By the end, it seemed NBC couldn’t wait to get ADW off its schedule. This promo is basically just a “bye, bitch!” to the show. Compare that to say the “goodbye” they gave to Family Ties, Cosby, and Cheers and you’ll see the difference.

This was one tired and depressing promo.

The Cheers farewell tour seemed to last years. I love watching that show in binges in these pandemic times, but yes, the difference is stark. I don't think the network ever really appreciated ADW. We've all talked about it needing to be revived, but IIRC we discussed it being a Cosby rights issue?

Debbie Allen said she tried but the Cosby rights issues were still in the way.

  6. I hope to see Snake still there as principal as well as a few of the next-gen characters such as Emma, Marco, and Spinner there too. And I hope they actually take time to develop the black characters on this reboot that actually have POV and not just used as sidekicks.

  7. On Degrassi High the character of Claude Tanner shot himself in the bathroom of the school in which the character Snake found him. Years later on the reboot the character of Snake who was now principal of the school told the character of Maya whose boyfriend killed himself that he found Claude when he was a student here.

I guess they're getting story out of it now, but that exit was so weird and abrupt. Why couldn't they just have had her finally object to one of Xander's 12,000 crimes and go off to visit Melissa and clear her head for a while?

Exactly! Or at least with her gone it should've been brought up by her family that she has been gone for a while with no contact. Let's call up Melissa to see if she is there.

    Wouldn't put it past them.

I'm still giving them a wide-eyed for how they slipped Veronica Redd's photo in place of Marguerite Ray's in that In Memoriam segment.

Man, that was the worst. I'm like Google is your friend for a reason. She was an actress on a show that airs on your network. SMH...

Is anyone (except Alan) going to do a decent virtual discussion in honor of Lisa Brown? Or will we have to wait for the Daytime Emmy awards to haphazardly include a picture of Blair Brown in one of their In Memoriam montages?

Not Blair Brown. I hope he does something and hopefully he lets Martha Byrne assist if possible.

That was the longest wait for an answer to a question in history.

I see Cassandra Creech is Mama Buckingham. I have a feeling they’ll pair her with Carter for a mother/man/daughter triangle, which would mean they are unlikely to play the Quinn beat.

And how long has Sheila been talking to herself? I know that’s vintage Sheila, but I feel like she hasn’t had a scene with another character in a while lol.

Sheila talking to herself in her hotel room is something I'm over. Why isn't she trying to get Steffy to relapse on drugs instead of getting Brooke to drink again? You would think she would do something to the person who is trying to keep her away from her precious Finn and Hayes. I do wish they would bring on Ian Buchanan as James with a recast Mary to add to the mix too.

Alan Locher is doing an interview with Sarah Brown (ex-Agnes) on January 13.

  12. I'm not surprised he's leaving, since we know Richard Burgi has had a successful career in primetime and goes back to daytime when needed. Actually, I thought he would be gone by now. The character of Ashland had potential, but once they never went through with him being the next "Big Bad Businessman" we were all supposed to be frightened of. I knew it was only a matter of time before the character became a non-entity.

I guess Victoria will have another marriage ending by April. They do not need to do Billy and Victoria ever again. I'm not too keen on Billy and Lily either. I wish they would have had Billy off the canvas for months until they could get a plan for him. I would prefer Lily and Daniel with a teenage Lucy to come in between them instead. I wouldn't mind a recasting of Cole Howard with a teenage son coming to Genoa City, and he and Victoria getting close again. (I know that would never happen)

Sam Frost, one of the show's leading ladies of the last few years, also seems to have left due to the mandate. Or possibly. Bonner was only there about six months.  I wonder how this was never asked at the time the network hired him. He was a very likeable onscreen presence who fit into the community well and had good chemistry with his love interest. This is a loss. But the blame goes on him.

    Sigh...

Hey, don't knock that!  That song was SEMINAL in Bo and Hope's story!

Corday and Langan were nothing if not ambitious, lol.  But I feel like a much stronger HW or Co-HW could have made all those disparate stories work.

I'm not knocking that song. I was just surprised they were able to find those pennies for the song.
