It's a sad day when GH nowadays inspires me more than Y&R does. Anywhoo, I haven't done one of these in a while so enjoy!

It's JG's way of setting up Summer and Kyle to be the next "it" couple. It's also his way of setting up both characters to be the noble hero/heroine from their age grouping. It's obviously not working.

Based on how MS is portraying Phyllis, it's obvious the character has been slipping a few drinks in working behind the GP counter.

If you can find a clip from OLTL that has this cue that would be great. As far as I know, this was an original for Y&R composed by Allocco, Kurtz, and Guitto and those three were exclusively composers for Y&R up until 2012, which would prohibit the use of this cue on an ABC soap from a licensing standpoint, unlike in the example above as Gary Kuo composed for both Y&R and Loving so music rights are a bit more flexible especially considering Loving is off the air. Perhaps it's possible the arrangements were very similar sounding.

I was browsing some old clips of Loving because I wanted to see LW's work as Ally, and through my ears I discovered that Y&R ended up inheriting a music cue from Loving's library! (Likely because Gary Kuo worked on both shows) Loving: Y&R:

I think "Sallick" is a more flexible ship term open to many interpretations. 😅 Beyond being MS-Phyllis' cheerleader/gigolo, he seems to remember that he is a father to a troubled teen once in a while... That's pretty much it.

Damn, you beat me to it! I saw the title of this thread and immediately thought of that scene LOL. MS as Phyllis during MAB's run was pretty much insufferable ("MY HUSBAND, MY HUSBAND!" or basically her stammering the same lines on repeat). MSPhyllis now isn't nearly as irritating as she was back in 2012, but I credit that to the writing, or lack thereof. My only criticism of her Phyllis now is that she is constantly portraying her as if she had just done 10 shots of tequila straight right before getting on set 😅😅. God I miss Gina Tognoni. She knew when to ham it up and when to be subtle. On Y&R: Pretty much anything Brenda Dickson did on the tail end of her run. It's fun to watch but the acting style definitely didn't age well. On B&B: Shoutout to KKL when she had to deliver the "I FRIGGIN FORBID IT!" with such conviction in 2008. On GH: Grayson McCouch's version of Agent Kyle Sloane. MW as Ava can also ham it up sometimes but I personally find it endearing to the character.

I've always likened Taylor's second death to signify the death of B&B as we once knew it. I'd have to say Y&R lost its must-watch factor after Tricia, Ryan, Matt, and Malcolm left the canvas in 2001/early 2002 as 2002 seemed pretty forgettable. I've been watching the Y&R 2003 playlist on YouTube and it feels like a completely different show production-wise from 2001. 2004 was pretty strange too, however 2005 was overall a pretty solid year (no surprise why they chose so many episodes from that year to air during the classics marathon).

Considering what a year B&B had in 2002, 2003 was very underwhelming in comparison.

I have uploaded the 2000-2004 Playlists from the Y R YouTube Channel to the Vault! Some of the 2003 episodes are missing as there were corruption issues while I downloaded it, and have since been blocked on YouTube. I'm putting my focus on those playlists as they get updated. Hopefully we will get more of 2001 and 2002. 2003 looks very promising so far.

Is anybody actively downloading/archiving the clips being uploaded to the Y R YouTube Channel? So far I've been doing it and I've uploaded January and February 2003 to the Vault. Quite a bit of my files have had downloading issues/corruption issues and I've already lost a few of the episodes from March and April and can't re-download them since YouTube has blocked them, rats!

Just a friendly PSA that Chance 10 years ago was not this stand-up hero that the canvas currently paints him out to be. On John Driscoll's last few days as Chance we had him profess his love to Chloe in one scene and to Heather in another. Gives Liam Spencer a run for his money!
