Maeve is just lovely. Met her a few times. Always kind.
Larry Gates and Bill Roerick. They kind of said it all. They were VERY different. Bill Roerick was a sweetheart. Larry, not so much.

Daytime Emmys - announce the winners beforehand and let the winners remotely do an acceptance speech. Boom! Done.

A once a week classic is a different scenario to 5 day a week repeats.
How will they program this? Start from a certain date and play in sequence? Or groups of episodes from different eras?
It's all unknown territory and quite a risk...
Exactly. Viewers are not going to stick around for 5 repeats. Ratings will plummet. 1 repeat mixed in with 4 originals is different.

Really? Wow! Thanks im glad the classics are doing well
Why do you believe everything you read?? Y&R classics for the last 2 weeks have NOT been rated by Nielsen. There are no ratings for those episodes. Gullible much?
21 hours ago, Soapsuds said:Y&R classic episodes and B&B reruns are getting higher numbers than Days. I'd air Y&R classics until regular episodes are available. The classic episodes of Y&R are more entertaining than any new episodes from Y&R, B&B, GH or Days.
Lord. Y&R classics are NOT rated. Too funny. #FACTS matter

The 1984 Olympics on ABC when shortened versions of the soaps were presented.
Does anyone know more of exactly how this worked?
This was at a time when 60 min shows were entrenched and it would be interesting to see how they flowed jn the shorter format.
I loved it! ABC put their half hour soaps on hiatus for 2 weeks and only had the 1-3 pm slot to air their 3 popular soaps so they aired AMC from 1-1:40, OLTL from 1:40-2:20 -and GH from 2:20-3. Strange schedule, but it worked. Ratings were great. I think the most interest was in AMC because that’s when Jenny (Kim Delaney) blew up on the jet ski. I remember my family being glued to the shorter format. Can’t remember much about OLTL during those weeks because they were in trouble and the transition to Rauch was happening. Ratings wise, all 3 soaps benefitted.

And I’ve reported your post. When I see homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia or racism, I won’t stand for it. And I won’t back down. People like you need to be called out for the frightened little bullies you are.He is a bully. I could say SO much more, but I won’t. @Toupsand @Errol Soapsuds is being a bully. Saying to me “do I report you again” is bullying!

Nope! Not the same person!!

So...there’s one thing about hating a particular period of the show and being bitchy about it. I get that; however, when it crosses the line to being offensive, I’ve got to say something.
What, in your opinion, is wrong with “playing gay character after gay character?” As a gay human being, what is you said is one of the most offensive things you could possible say. You’re intimating that there is something wrong with only playing gay characters. Why? Because straight characters are....what exactly? Would you say to the straight actors on the show who have continued to work - Michael Park, for instance: “Hey Michael, what’s up with you only playing straight character after straight character since you left ATWT. I mean, that’s pretty limiting, don’t you think? It also really goes to show you aren’t much of an actor.”
There should be some sort of moderators picking up this offensive crap.
+1 Just consider the source.

It’s unrealistic to think that loves scenes will be back to normal before a vaccine is available. Who would want to sign waivers? So many stars have spouses and families to think about. Would you be comfortable having your spouse go to work and make out with a co-star? People can have this virus without showing symptoms. I think social distancing will be the norm once these shows go back into production. Even if testing becomes widespread, you can be negative today, but catch the virus tomorrow.

Even if productions open up, the 6 ft distance will be in effect until a vaccine is created.

With the shutdown of production on the soaps, does anyone know if contracts have been terminated for actors? It’s a money saver. Remember how Days went on hiatus last fall and terminated everyone’s contract. Legal has probably terminated every contract for the soaps. No work, no pay.

Why do we have to see flashbacks of Spencer? Ugh. Soaps execs really do shoot themselves in the foot. Frank has a hard on for Spencer. The audience doesn’t.

Why would they do that and why would anybody buy it?
Like who would be spending money on Y&R's background music?
Great questions. For some reason Sony sold all of their Music rights from all of Sony Pictures Television and also their Movies.
48 minutes ago, Aback said:Besides, they do use old music cues on the current show every now and then...
They bought some rights back. I know. It makes NO sense to sell them and years later to buy some back. But my point is that it was a Sony thing to sell the music rights.

One of the treats of MABs Y&R was bringing so much of the old music back. Thanks JFP for getting rid of it again.
Isn’t Dobson just the music coordinator and RC Gates of GH is the composer???
Thanks.
Is there any OTHER site or place?
Just to set the record straight, SONY sold off the music rights to all of their tv shows and movies back then. That had nothing to do with JFP.

And IF it’s true about Josh having a meltdown and locking himself in his office - let’s expand on that - because of JFP pressuring him - JFP was right! Josh is a boring writer! His third time around confirms this. He needs to just go away and stop boring the viewers.

She didn’t in 1986. I can only speak of my in-person interactions with her. She was extremely gracious when we toured the studio the next year. Maybe she was playing to the fans, but I just saw a really friendly person.
Kim was great everytime I saw her in person in NYC outside of the GL studio. Seeing an actor one on one outside of the studio as they leave or go into work is very different than a fan event where the actor knows they have to be “on” and friendly. I saw Kim at 6:30 am one morning as she walked into the GL studio looking like a mess and she let me take a picture of her even though she looked like she just rolled out of bed and she was kind and friendly. I interacted with her many times (never at 6:30 am again) and she was always friendly.
Come on guys. Chris Goutman having an affair with a lesbian? Affairs, yes, but not with a lesbian. Geez.

God, I love Kim! Real.

Which soap star would you like to meet or have?

Way too many people to mention. Lucci, many times, and always kind. Kim Zimmer is great. Beverlee, very nice woman. Charita, incredibly kind. Fiona, not so nice.
In 1985, Madeleine Sherwood from the Flying Nun did a guest appearance on GL. She was such an unhappy beyatch! Just nasty in person.
Slezak is nice, Strasser, not so much. Diva.
