Is it true that GH tried to imitate the vibe of Santa Barbara for a time?

I imagine a lot of soap actresses have acted crazy, but did Kim Zimmer make GL fans think that it just might be true?

How about Robert Newman filling in for Joseph Bottoms as Kirk Cranston on Santa Barbara in 1986?

Marcy Walker joined the cast of GL in '93, but her Tangie Hill character didn't catch on. I imagine that a significant number of GL fans felt like Marcy/Tangie was being forced down their collective throat.

All My Shadows, did you ever watch Santa Barbara? If so, do you remember seeing Marcy Walker with long hair? You have to excuse me. I can't unsee images of Marcy with short hair. She didn't like having her hair cut so short for the Liza Colby role in the early '80s. She thought she looked "ugly" and "like a shaved rat." If you don't believe me, check out this video.

I wonder if Marcy Walker was offered a role on the short-lived primetime soap Central Park West in the mid-1990s. Both CPW and GL were generally done out of New York, plus both soaps were aired on CBS. I can't say that Marcy was too happy during her stint as Tangie Hill on GL. In the end, she rejoined the cast of All My Children as Liza Colby.
