  1. I tried really hard not to ff today but some of the scenes are such weak sauce... Hamilton Winters zzzzz

Agreed that TSJ has much presence, and what an upgrade from SN! What did Tucker do to make everyone so mad? Circa 2010, didn't Tucker cheat on Ashley with Maura West's Diane? And now everyone is mad at Tucker and not Diane?

Is this latest version of Diane a morally-correct heroine, or is she still a historically-accurate complex schemer?

Mark Grossman slays as Adam, but Amelia Heinle is a scene destroyer.

I loved Courtney Hope as Sally Spectra on BnB in 2017. This pod-person version bears no resemblance.

I can't stand Joshua Morrow but I'll admit he looked pretty good in bed shirtless.

God, Abby's apology was so pathetic and totally self-serving. Amanda ripped her to shreds and I did enjoy that.

Veronica seems thrilled to be back. In SOD she played tribute to Marguerite for establishing the character of Mamie which was a classy move.

It would be great to have her back as a sounding board for various characters.

The Abbott family’s formerand much-cherished housekeeper Mamie Johnson,
returns for a visit this week, which means her portrayer,Veronica Redd, is back, too.
“My first reaction was one of relief,” shares the actress of getting the invitation to be a
part of the show’s golden anniversary celebration. “It was reassuring to know that my role was impactful enough to be revisited. I am truly honored that[ExecutiveProducer/Head Writer] Josh Griffith thought it was imperative that Mamie return at this time of such momentous celebration. I felt a great sense of pride on behalf of my predecessor, Marguerite Ray. She established the character and what she created is still significant so many decades later. This is as much of a testament to her talent and skill as it may be considered to be mine. I am standing tall on her substantial shoulders.”
Redd shares that she was thrilled to reunite with her former co-stars. “Peter Bergman [Jack], Beth Maitland[Traci], Eileen Davidson [Ashley] and last, but certainly not
least, my favorite ‘archenemy’ of all time, Jess Walton[Jill], pretty much greeted me with the same generosity and enthusiasm, as did their characters, when seeing Mamie for the first time in so many years,” she enthuses. “I was also so moved when both Sharon Case [Sharon] and Joshua Morrow [Nick] individually approached me with genuine joy at seeing me again after so long. Even though I never had scenes with either of them, they had memories of me from when they first started on the show as very young actors.
The other person whose personal greeting stood out to me was Michelle Stafford [Phyllis]. Like a lot of the women on the show, that girl is a heck of an actress! I love her work!”

Wow! What a class act! She covered all the bases.

Yes strangely enough that episode is skipped over. It was probably just as you described. The recap makes it sound like it was a more formal call between them so that’s why I was wondering how Nikki addressed herself. Lol

this makes me realize... as the character of Nikki evolved into a snooty lady of the manor, it's strange that she didn't want to be called by the more formal "Nicole" vs Nikki

Is it weird that I'm curious to know how Nikki referred to herself when she called Traci?? 🤣 Like they were still in-laws because Nikki was only separated from Jack at the time, yet Traci and Nikki never really had many scenes or really knew each other, but since Nikki was Still "Nikki Abbott" at the time, I'm wondering if she had to use her full name when calling Traci...unless the scene was already in progress to make it seem less awkward :D I guess Nikki could have said "It's your sister-in Law, or SOON TO BE ex-Sister in-law!" :D haha

I thought we had that ep? But I looked it up and it's 7/13/93 and I guess we don't. I feel like I've seen that scene but maybe I didn't. I'm picturing that Nikki just calls and says "Hi Traci... it's Nikki"

  5. Today was a bit better! I ff’d much less 😂

Wow, Mishael Morgan is a breath of fresh air and energized all her scenes.

This is the first I’m seeing of Audra. Is she a schemer in the classic sense? Is she “innocently” urging for the JT podcast, to clear the deck so she can have Nate to herself?  If so, this could have potential…

Amelia Heinle: draining all life out of the room as Victoria Newman for almost 20 years.

  6. Set the dvr for YR for the first time in a long time, to see the anniversary week.  Monday got off to a rough start...

The only highlight for me was the rare pairing of Nikki and Traci planning the gala, talking about how "current and former members of the community are invited". (wink-wink)

    CONS:

    - While Susan Walters has a nice presence, how they can be recycling a "love triangle" (if you can call it that) from over 2 decades ago?? And don't get me started on Michelle Stafford's mugging...

    - Energy vampires Abby and Devon took up wayyyy too much of the episode. Not only that, almost a whole segment was devoted to a boring-ass recent flashback of Abby and Devon!!

    - The b-roll shot of the front of the Abbott estate looked so fake, like a parody. We never used to see the front of the estate. The only time I can remember is summer '96 when Mari Jo drove up and we saw ACTUAL footage of a LIVE estate. If you can't afford real location shooting - don't fake it - just leave it to our imagination.

They may not care about inconsistencies like the fans, but surely the actors remember back to the times when they had rehearsals, retakes, location shoots, and detailed notes from Bill Bell.

There was that vid from LLB and DD a few years ago, I think accompanying a vintage clip, where they talked about getting notes from Bill Bell... how it could be nerve-wracking at the time, but comparing then to now, they desperately miss Bill's criticism.

Beth Maitland giving us a NEW clip from first week January 1985, when Traci sings at the Torchlight after Lauren and Shawn made fake reservations so she would be forced to perform for an empty venue https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/sV5P1QEBH756GrLaXOcON9DcyodvgcOd/

Thanks, great clip! Painful to see Traci suffering but her performance was very good. BM sounds much better solo than dueting with Michael Damian, and definitely sounds better than TEB.

Thanks guys for narrowing it down. The clip is from June 20, 1996 - we have the German version in the vault, but I believe this is the first time we've had it in English so I'm actually happy for that.

Ah, thanks! Did you scan the German eps? I was doing the same, haha!  But I wasn't finding it and it was driving me nuts, so I feel better now

Today's "classic" clip is Paul & Christine moving into their condo... are they just trolling us? 😅 I mean it's a cute scene and all. Does anyone know what year it's from?

    https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/xhjwQnpSppvIgIku_4DRNimaFbGeTdcL/

Uh yea, not much of a classic moment but I guess it has sentiment for LLB and at least it's a new scene, haha!

At first, I thought this was after Who Shot Victor and Nevis, but at the end they talk about getting the engagement ring back on her finger, so this must be shortly after the Nikki/Cricket confrontation on 4/23/96.

Someone uploaded new clips of Kay and Marge storyline from 1990. If you're reading here, thank you 😊

Cool! I haven't watched them, but looking at the clip titles, could this be the same compilation that was posted on a Facebook YR group a couple years ago?

Was that Nathan dancing (standing) with Amy?

Good catch, I didn't notice that was Amy! I pulled up the full-screen vid on my big monitor, and that is not Nathan. I think Nathan doesn't debut until later in '84

They uploaded more clips on YouTube:

This is Lauren and Danny's music video that makes Paul jealous

Thanks... wow there is a LOT happening here, haha!

Danny and Lauren are singing "Against all odds" and they don't sound as bad as they usually do.  This is based on the Phil Collins song of the same name, specifically created for the Jeff Bridges movie of the same name. I haven't seen the movie but it does involve gambling/casinos, so maybe that's why their vid had that going on as well.

Danny reflected in Lauren's sunglasses was 80s iconic!

I appreciated the diversity of the dancers.

This clip must be July '84 b/c Patty looks super-pissed, so this must be right after she found out about Danny and Traci's marriage. Ken the manager is living his best life and is not "reading the room" at all that some people in the room don't seem so happy.
