I'll admit the shot of Joe and Kamala approaching the plane on the tarmac in the night (in the previous post) gave me chills. The past, present and future all in one shot.

We don't have to offer up an explanation to every goofy-ass thing an actor does on this show. It's okay for something to just be silly or stupid. The actors are not our friends but they are not going to get fired just because we clown on them sometimes. They'll get fired because Wagger has no long-term place on this show.

I agree with this. Kamala was within 2 points of Trump in PA in a GOP internal poll in the first days of the switch, and Politico is trying to give them the sunny side of life. And now, in news to no one:

I don't think Sarlin is as bad as some, but like many Beltway journos he is thinking of it too much as sportsbro game theory transposed onto politics vs. what it simply is: A vile smear spat out by a flailing candidate who is feeling the heat.

I can see either side on Shapiro. I just don't think the downsides are that significant with the general public vs. the very online. He's tough, projects non-crazy left and he locks down PA. I don't think it's about fear. People on Twitter catastrophize about a pretty normal politician because there's always gotta be something. Meanwhile:

Wishful thinking from The Hill. Any time he does anything stupid there's a segment of media that kvell and say 'he's won back the news cycle! What a genius plan!' This fumble atop a colossal mess will not play well for him, despite poor attempts to launder it and put it over. Such as: It's not going to get much traction AFAIC, it's just going to turn more people off.
