Oh, I believe him. They're cheap as !@#$%^&*] at AMC. They want to be HBO on fifty dollars and some layaway.

Rose was a favorite of mine. And the relationship with Scott Holroyd's Paul. I loved Cassandra Creech. I have never understood why another soap didn't snap her up - well, I do know, it's because they mostly don't care about black women. She did a bit a few years after this on GH as a lady assassin working for Faith Rosco, and she was great. Is that Craig Lawlor as Adam? Jesus, he was wonderful and I don't know why he left but when they brought Adam back later it was some completely different character who had no resemblance to the boy everyone watched grow up. P&G seemed to delight in mutilating those young legacy characters in the last decade.

Doctor Who
I find that hard to believe. It seems odd he would make such a request out of nowhere, much less that Moffat would have such a vehement response. I also find the hamhanded attempt to tie it directly into another rumored event to be way too convenient - particularly when the commonly-held speculation about that particular preexisting rumor had nothing to do with Eccleston and everything to do with Moffat and Skinner. Looking at it again, it actually just looks like a repackaging of an ancient raft of bullshit peddled by fangirls very early this year - claiming that Skinner and Moffat terrorized Eccleston and that Moffat's "paranoid hatred of Russell T. Davies" caused him to go on a quest to annihilate all traces of the Davies era. In reality, Moffat and Davies are good friends.

I don't think RTD's show was about character any more or less than Moffat's - I think they just go about it differently. I felt RTD did wonderful work but I also thought he tended to hang onto the same old ideas for a long time; who does the Doctor love? Who loves the Doctor? I thought he lost his way when it came to how they handled Martha's relationship with the Doctor, as well as Rose's final exit. I don't think Amy's entire purpose was the Doctor - I think the character flourished even more once her 'mystery' was solved. In terms of both that and River I found Moffat's handling of women to be far more mature than RTD's. Time will tell if Clara does the same. River, OTOH, just always worked for me.

The Cybermen haven't been scary since the '60s. Both The Pandorica Opens and Nightmare in Silver came close to fixing them but not quite. If they'd go back to an updated version of their original appearances in, say, The Tenth Planet and Tomb of the Cybermen - i.e., tattered cloth standing in for torn flesh, strange, high jangly voices, gaunt, spindly creatures - then it might work. But it would scare the [!@#$%^&*] out of kids. For example:

Something I didn't notice in DOTD: At Coal Hill School, where Clara now works, the sign outside apparently labels the "Chairman of the Governors" as "I. Chesterton." I'm likely not going to be able to watch The Time of the Doctor on the day of due to my being out of town with family, or at least not in the way I want, on my big screen TV - maybe if I can rig up my USB to their TV after downloading it. I'd rather watch it on BBCA, but my parents don't have it up there. Ugh, anticipation.

Doctor Who
Yeah, that movie is some crazy [!@#$%^&*]. Hussein turned down the opportunity to direct The Five Doctors back in 1983. I expect either Gatiss or Toby Whithouse will take over in a few years, but I've been very happy with Moffat. I will say I think AAISAT is Gatiss's best work in nuWho by far. I like him, I like his other work but I frankly found all his DW work mediocre until AAISAT.

Apologies if this has already been posted: Waris Hussein keeps it real in the Radio Times. Very candid, fascinating stuff, and not just about DW but his whole career. The second part of the interview is linked at the bottom of the page.

Whatever he chooses, it's almost certain that the psycho in the camp is that damn Lizzie. I've always believed that eventually she'd kill Carol, and I still wonder about that. But hey, Lizzie gets props for capping that chick.

I think Daryl or Michonne would go back if they could. But it looked to me like the Governor had mutilated the head. I would take the moment now to please remind everyone to consider playing Season 1 of Telltale Games's incredible The Walking Dead adventure game, which IMO is the equal of the show if not moreso. It's largely focused on choices and characters, but there is plenty of action and great drama with layered characters - also, it's available for just about any console, computer or phone or iPad to download. There's no excuse not to play it, especially with Season 2 of the game coming very soon. Try it!

Part of me thinks he went back for Hershel because he couldn't break him, and he hated that. He hated that men like Hershel and Rick didn't break the way he had. That's why he cut his throat to begin with.

Scott Wilson (and Hershel) remind me a great deal of my stepfather, who I've known most of my life - Hershel's a bit more verbose, but they're both quiet, simple men who are humble, plainspoken and gentle, with a genuine appreciation for the countryside and hard work. Scott Wilson is an incredible actor who I've seen in so many things - In Cold Blood and The Ninth Configuration as a volatile, unpredictable young man whose moves I could never see coming, The Exorcist III: Legion as an eccentric, twitchy mad doctor, and The Walking Dead as the wise, quiet sage. In each of these films in each era, he's never been the same type of performer giving the same type of performance. He's so very different at each age - I mean, almost unrecognizable back then vs. today, but wonderful every time. I'm so glad people appreciate him today.

The Governor is batshit crazy. He was done with Michonne at that moment; he was after Rick, the prize of the prison and mass slaughter. Also, he was being fired upon. He's nuts enough to have totally let her slip his mind. I don't think he was thinking - he's psychotic. If he spared a thought at all in that firefight, he probably figured he'd kill her later, with her still subdued. It didn't surprise me at all when her ass rolled away Ninja Gaiden-style and almost immediately got loose, though.

Am I the only one not convinced Judith was dead? They didn't show a body and I couldn't tell if there was blood in the carrier, which also could've belonged to anyone in that carnage. I had a terrible feeling either Lily's dumb sister or her lover, or the kids were going to accidentally cap Judith. But oh, when they gunned that bitch down I couldn't have been happier. Carol taught them and Carol was right. Great show, very sad, very exciting. I knew Hershel would buy it but he got a very honorable death. The way they shot him kneeling there reminded me of Toshiro Mifune out of a samurai film, or something vaguely religious. Just heartbreaking, wonderful stuff and great action. I was absolutely terrified that Maggie or Carl were going to bite it, along with Sasha, but I was amazed they all made it. Chandler Riggs was wonderful at the end. He's so grown up now. I had to laugh at the look on Sasha's face after the bus took off, and her line. "We'll work it out!" That's exactly what I'd say at that moment - I ain't got time to chase that bus, we gotta jet. They're all scattered to the four winds now. I hope they all find their way back together, and not too late like Andrea. I hate the term "feels" but I shall say it - my Rick and Michonne feels were strong when she found him at the end. I'm also glad they dispensed with the Governor. It was time, but what they did with him on the show was much smarter and more mature than the cartoon villain of the comic book. His principal conflict was that he couldn't accept that he'd gone all wrong, that there was any other way but his madness. He couldn't process it or accept that Rick had found another way. If Kirkman has offed Judith now that Glen Mazzara is gone I'll admit I think it's tacky. I thought it was a smart move to keep the baby. That scene with Lily and the kid on the riverbank was wonderfully filmed, very creepy and understated. It reminded me a lot of some stuff from the '70s horror classic Let's Scare Jessica to Death. Very haunting.
