  1. I have a few treats to share!

    January 31, 1986

Thank you to @ChickenNuggetz92 for helping do an audio swap on this.

    October 10, 1995

Unfortunately I don't have October 11.  Two episodes were aired on October 12, 1995 to catch up due to preemptions:

    Episode 1

    Episode 2

    October 13, 1995

    October 16, 1995

  2. I think it was this one. I was already watching daytime but I wanted this because of 90210.  My mom never let me buy soap magazines.  I was sick and she felt bad so she ran back in and got it for me lol. Thanks mom. :)

I remember going to visit my dad (parents divorced) every weekend and making him take me to the candy store every time so I could buy the soap magazines and then I would read them in the car and ignore him. Ah, the pre-internet days.

  3. I always thought Bell used B&B as a redo of sorts for the Fosters and the Brooks.  You had the Logans, a  working class family whose father had left with the son becoming a lawyer and the wealthy Forresters with their four children.  There was some mixing around of the ages and sexes of the children but the original foundation was very much there, plus actors Bell was comfortable with from Y&R.  And 30 years later, it's still very much those two families and the Spencers onscreen.  And while I love the consistency and ties to history B&B has, it has made for a very incestuous and often boring show, and I'm glad Y&R didn't turn out that way.  It will be strange though once Jill dies or Jess Walton permanently retires and there will be no ties at all to the original show.  I feel like that hurts Y&R's chances of ever being picked up in streaming tremendously.

    Why those years specifically?

Time-line wise, Donna had Marcus BEFORE we met her in 1987...

As for BIll, this was a major retcon. But not the first one with SPencer children. Both Karen and Bill Jr. were NEVER intended during these 1987/1988 episodes...

EDIT: Brooke's "romance" with Dave was one of the key reasons why I always stood with Stephanie and Taylor that Brooke cannot be trusted and is nothing but a calculating gold digger. Contrary to you guys I also felt very uneasy by Brooke and Donna folowing the papers and then showing up at the hospital to socialise with Caroline. Talk about creepy!

If she already had Marcus, I guess you could read that to explain why Beth really didn't want her going to the beach party, yet Brooke still thought she was innocent. Really hard to believe that she got pregnant by Justin with Storm always hovering around... must have gotten it on in the bleachers at the gym, lol.

I knew that Bill was a retcon, but I'd never realized how adamant the writers were that Caroline was an ONLY child, and Bill Sr had NO ONE ELSE. I just thought he'd never been mentioned. How was Karen introduced then? She was a new character when I started watching. Bill had money and a stable marriage... how on earth did they just "lose" a twin? She wouldn't have been adopted out, surely.

Brooke going to the hospital was bad enough... I guess I could see a young girl getting starstruck and wanting to see celebs in person... but to actually go into Caroline's hospital room and talk to her... and for Caroline to be fine with it... really ridiculous. Maybe it played differently in the 80s before the privacy laws were expanded. Brooke is definitely stringing Dave along, wondering what life would have been like had her father made money... but you can sort of understand it, since she hasn't even graduated college yet and doesn't want to be tied down into a lifelong commitment. I really hated Brooke in the 90s and actually see her in a slightly more sympathetic light in these episodes, but the seeds are there.

  6. Considering how trashy the show became, it's funny how chaste it is in the beginning. Caroline is explicitly a virgin, and Brooke, Donna, Katie, and Kristen aren't really getting it on either. Brooke even tells Donna to wait to have sex. Is this supposed to be before or after Donna had Marcus?

  7. In case you all were not aware, Amy Silence is still uploading to this playlist, but all episodes are unlisted so you won't get a subscription notification. You need to check it yourself daily. She's up to Episode 305.... 302 was the episode where Ridge rapes Caroline while Thorne is making a sandwich, so it's getting good.

  8. Amy Silence just posted episode 285. She says she is going to try uploading each video and making it unlisted after 2 days, then uploading a new one. It's an interesting idea - if it works, it could be implemented for more sharing on YouTube (especially if you have a channel you're willing to sacrifice in case it doesn't work). And that would hopefully attract more people to share their stuff.

  9. Partial episode from March 14, 1989. If I'm not mistaken this came from a youtube user  btm85bubs (I saved the episodes but not the channel name).

I also noticed I have parts 2, 3, and 4 of an episode from 1/27/93.  Total is 27 minutes so there's part 1 and maybe 5-8 out there.

I also have most of 4/8/93... part 2-8 out of 8.  No part 1.  Total running time is 49 minutes with commercials. I think they were all originally from the same user. If anyone happens to have those missing parts, I'll paste them together and upload the whole episode.

  10. I didn't know that Patty intended to kill herself instead of Jack. That makes the Patty/Emily story make even less sense.

Terry Lester was so good in the scenes where Jack woke up. He kept cringing every time Patty got near him.

  11. How was Patty shooting Jack addressed? That was a pretty crazy thing to do, but then the next episodes I saw were her hanging out with the teen scene (Danny, Lauren, Traci). How did they gloss over the shooting, and how was she written off the show at that point? And wasn't there originally a third Williams brother?

Did y'all know that someone is livestreaming Y&R episodes on YT?

I just happened to be viewing a classic episode of GL when I saw it on the sidepanel.  There's an open chat and everything!

Classic ones or new ones? I have seen streams of the new (I assume the Canadian version) episodes on there.... which I wasn't even looking for, but they pop up on my feed sometimes because I look at Y&R stuff.
