Join us tomorrow in the 1990's ratings thread as 1990, 1991 and 1992 start being posted.

Also, I don't remember getting a response the last time I asked this, but each day as I post the next batch of ratings, can some ratings fans here please compare these charts to the Soap Opera Weekly charts on this page and let me know if you see any discrepancies between the two. Thanks!

    http://www.jason47.com/days/nielsens1990.html

These ones are ok. I can do it going forward, I'll just reply with thumbs up or a correction. If you want me to look back, let me know what weeks.

I didn't convert those yet (I did for DAYS, AMC and BB), the rest are still in the "confusing" format I originally posted them in. But the full lists for 1979-1989 are in this thread, just not as "clean" as the lists now are for DAYS, AMC and BB.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything!

Are there 1979-1989 lists for all the shows? I found the 1978 lists, and the 1990-1999 lists, but I've lost track of these! I've gone through 10 pages of this thread and only found AMC 79-89 and B&B 87-89.

TWO BIG NIELSEN RATINGS EVENTS HAPPENING IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS!

Tomorrow, I will be posting the last weeks of 1989, which completes the entire decade!

On Tuesday, the week of 1/8/90 will be posted, which is the last week that Soap Opera Weekly did not publish. So, as of Tuesday, every week of Nielsen ratings from 1979-Present will be available online (except the week of 8/24/81)!

Congratulations! It's a huge accomplishment getting all this together.

I spoke with someone at Robinson Funeral Home, and they confirmed that donated money goes toward funeral costs and not directly to the family. In essence, when families are unable to pay for the services themselves, the funeral home provider includes a donate now button to help cover the cost of their services.

I thought this would be helpful information as we become aware of this increasingly unfortunate situation.

    Appreciate you confirming that.

Thanks @Errol for keeping tabs on this and providing accurate information.

If anyone didn't know (I just learned it yesterday), the Cheetwoods are Tyler's cousins. https://www.soapsindepth.com/posts/general-hospital/drew-cheetwoods-heartfelt-tribute-to-his-cousin-tyler-christopher

Susan Asmo Baker is the sister Tyler accused of stealing his money. https://people.com/tyler-christopher-guardianship-court-battle-7561317

In a recent court filing, Christopher alleged that Asmo Baker used up to $40,000 of finances that should have been for his guardianship to pay off her own credit cards and buy her son a laptop, among other things.

Asmo Baker denied the allegations to Bloomberg via email, writing, “If I hadn’t been his Guardian he’d be DEAD!”

Thank you... Its very hard sometimes since episodes have different scene cuts sometimes AND even different music cuts. Some of them were a mess to do... like 1 hour an episode to just cut and sync. But some of them are easier.

I am glad that at least 1 or 2 people are liking them. I was a bit surprised that nobody else cares and was thinking of stopping... since I guess probably all are waiting for the videoland versions of the episodes... BUT videoland will catch up with 2001 and 2002.. in..couple of YEARS. That's why I decided to do it.

And now I see that there ARE people that want them so I will continue.

I am mostly doing them for me and my husband since we are approaching 2001 and 2002 in our WATCH FROM DAY 1 experiment.  I personally have no problem with  bad quality but my husband always complains and complains so I am doing this to please him. And share them with you guys.

They are looking better each time! 👍 Really good work.

This is brilliant! Thank you so much.

Speaking of 2001, December vault is lacking the English versions of 3689 (Dec 7) and 3702 (Dec 27). Does anyone have these to add to the Vault? 🙏

I can add the 27th but don't have the 7th.

Edit: Nevermind. We still need the 27th.

Any idea who's been on the most SOD covers overall?

Did you see the list on page 6?

I just hit CTRL-F and searched some names to see how many hits on the page. Not a perfect method as they may have been mentioned elsewhere on the page, but just as a fun and easy way to estimate. This list isn't meant to be complete, just some names I guessed would be high for each show:

    Hogestyn 184

    Sweeney 183

    Hall 181

    Benard 170

    Alfonso 166

    Reckell 134

    Braeden 103

    Francis 102

    Bergman 98

    Lang 85

    Geary 74

    Lucci 64

    Zimmer 41

I have uploaded 2 new episodes from 2001 - 3616 and 3617. I have now also added the dates after the episode number. From now on they will have no sync problems since I am doing them on another program. And I check after rendering. I am also exporting in the same format and resolution and bitrate that is the video so there is no video quality loss on Adobe Premiere. That way it will be slower but with no sync issues and try to be perfect.

You can expect every day 2 to 4 episodes from me. I hope in couple of months to finish. :)

This is great! I am sure others will appreciate it once they see. Thank you :)

On another note, the B&B official YouTube is now uploading music cues! Not exactly classics, but it's still nice to have clean versions of these.

Another cool trick to find old episode numbers is to go to
    archive.org, and then enter
    https://www.cbs.com/shows/the_bold_and_the_beautiful/
    into the archive.org search,

and then select the month around the time you are researching, and if you are lucky you can do the source-code trick to get the episode number from the URL of the episode cover photo.

I've done this for  Y&R same way
    And also for https://abc.com/shows/general-hospital

Great info! Thanks so much @janea4old! I keep an up to date Y&R list, hence my being correct on that one, and now I went back to tinker with my B&B spreadsheet, not updated since 2021 ;) and yes, you're absolutely correct. GH I don't track at all so when Jason asked about the current network shows, I went to imdb.

One day I might pick your brain about the CBS "season" start dates.

Sweet people, I have made a new folder in the 2001 section of the vault and started uploading my GERMAN VIDEO with ENGLISH AUDIO full episodes edits. Give me a thumbs up if you like the episodes and tell me if I can improve more! I will upload when I have time since lately I dont even have 5 free minutes, raising a dog puppy... I plan to upload AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2001 and FULL 2002 in this edited form. I am uploading with episode number only files. Since its easier for me to do it in that way.

Have a great day. AND MILLIONS THANKS to the ORIGINAL UPLOADERS of the German and English Sources. You guys are the true heroes.

    P.S

For some reason the upload speed is absurd slow... like 500 kb to 1 megabite a second.

You can expect 3606 to 3615 today, since they are already uploading.

Not only am I happy about the videos, but I am impressed that you put them in a red folder, dramatic and reminiscent of Sally Spectra herself 👍

These are quite good and watchable and I'd rather watch it like this with such good picture, so a big thanks to you. :D

Just so people know, many smart TVs have an option to shift the sound so if the sync bothers you, you can adjust it on your TV. If watching on the computer using VLC player, you may also shift the audio until it is perfect https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_HowTo/Adjust_audio_delay/

    nope.
If you go to the cbs.com or paramountplus.com website, and look at the source code for the episode list, it shows the episode number inside the URLs for the cover photos of each episode.

I've been religiously tracking the episode numbers of BB,YR,GH since 2018 -- comparing what I know with the episode cover photos for verification.
Also you can go to the paramountpressexpress websites for Y&R and B&B and they have some episodic photos withe episode numbers attached.

    https://www.paramountpressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/shows/the-bold-and-the-beautiful/episodes/

Well okay the Bregman/Osmond picture is mislabeled as 9171 -- all the pics listed as 9171 are not from episode 9171.

But the BTS pic of 9135 is Oct 26, 2023.

And the BTS pic of Andrea in Italy is 9049 from June 26.
(It was filmed when he was touring Los Angeles but they made it seem as if he was in Italy)

And all the other Italy photos on the paramountpress site match the episode numbers I have in my spreadsheet.

Interesting... what do you have for 12/31/20, 12/30/21, and 12/29/22 B&B

Do you agree with these #s for November 3, 2023?

Y&R: 12,739 (this seems to be confirmed by the CBS.com thumbnail per your method)

    GH: 15,400
