  1. I don't comment much on B&B anymore because I have zero expectations. At this point it's like, shame on me for watching.
  2. Thanks! I love those Caroline and Thorne scenes. I do remember on the DVD version, random music was piped over Katie and Rocco at the nightclub, so no dialogue could be heard.
  3. Yes, that's the recommendation. The vault runs off the owner's personal cloud setup so it may lag or crash if trying to stream. And in general, nothing on the internet is safe so downloading and creating your own backup is always a good idea.
  4. I have this marked as a full preemption for Y&R. Some stations aired a repeat. https://soaps.sheknows.com/the-young-and-the-restless/recaps/557954/young-and-restless-pre-empted-impeachment-trial-day-two/ The Young and the Restless will not air today, Wednesday January 22, as the presidential impeachment trial enters its second day in the United States. In some markets, CBS aired a previously seen episode of Young and Restless in which Nikki shares her life story in a letter.
  5. Honestly? Why not?
  6. It's a hack for lazy writers. The history is built in. You don't have to do the work of building the relationship, showing them falling in love. You can just refer to those deep feelings they had in the past and then show them going for drinks a couple of times, and voila, they are a couple. Then you kill someone off and you get the big payoff storyline and write a bunch of scenes about how despondent the survivor is. It literally writes itself, it's like a cheat code, and there you have filled another couple of months of story without having come up with any new ideas.
  7. In addition to the Archive, you should know about the Vault provided by the amazing @ChickenNuggetz92. Just about everything from Blake Marler should be there, and often in better quality from a divine angel. Blake Marler's videos were used to fill in some gaps. Thank you also to the angel currently keeping up with uploading Spauldingfield's episodes. Anyone can download things from YouTube and upload there per instructions provided in the link, so please, anyone, when you see something new on Youtube, please help to save it. I work to keep it organized, so I do recommend keeping that dpi number that Spauldingfield uses because I notice people comment on the dates and then they may get changed but that number verified which video it is from the collection. In a couple of cases I found that we have two different episodes with the same dates in the vault so I will keep both, but it does get messy and there's no daily recaps for the 70s through early 90s so if anyone has corrections to dates, you can always ping me. One person was comparing them to the German episodes on YouTube and giving me the German #, and I was able to date the episodes from that. Thank you to all angels who assist and upload. 😇
  8. I literally can't remember Nick doing anything other than saying he was really hungry.
  9. And, if people keep watching next week, it's like rewarding CBS for taking the break! I almost want the ratings to dip and take a few weeks to come back, just so they don't do this again. BTG doesn't deserve that though. It's no-win.
  10. No problem, I already sent @JAS0N47 the list of 2024 and 2025 preemptions for BTG, B&B, Y&R, and GH (I'll have to add this week's encores of BTG, sigh). The rest of the preemptions back to the 70s are linked here: Yes, that's correct.
  11. Thanks as always @JAS0N47! 11/7/18 Unrated CBS News Special Report CBS released their shows online that day. Recaps here: https://www.soapcentral.com/young-and-restless/young-and-restless-weekly-recap-for-181105 https://www.soapcentral.com/bold-and-beautiful/bold-and-beautiful-weekly-recap-for-181105 Wednesday's ratings are blank for both shows, confirming it was preempted on TV: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2018/11/ratings-report-for-the-week-of-november-5-9-2018 Confirmed by SOD: https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/catch-todays-episode-of-yr/ https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/bb-pre-emption-today/ Due to today’s post-election news conference, B&B will be preempted in some markets. A show spokesperson clarifies that this is not a full network pre-emption, and the show will not be pushing episodes forward or airing it later tonight. For anyone who missed today’s episode, it will be available online at CBS.com, beginning at 1:00 p.m. PT / 4:00 p.m. ET.
  12. Sometimes you just gotta see it through to the bitter end, this is epic. 🤣
  13. Someone on the reddit page was asking if they have a summer hiatus and come back in the fall. Sigh.
  14. Yes, I'd love to see an actual plan. I truly cannot see how breaking the momentum and airing a week of repeats is going to do anything to improve the ratings, especially since it's last minute with zero warning. Those early episodes can be watched online anyway and those five episodes are not the best BTG has to present. There were a lot of growing pains in the directing and acting that first week. Among my soap watching friends I'm seeing two trends. People either are very engaged and watching daily or they've fallen way behind and are finding it a slog to get back to (which I keep telling them will be worth their while!). A week of catch up/clip episodes would have made so much more sense, because yeah, there were some boring periods that people may want to just skip over and catch up on what was important. I don't know how behind Passions was, but I don't think we've ever had a new soap in a climate like this, where they are months and months ahead, unable to make changes midstream. Ted was recast before the premiere even aired. They definitely need their Katherine Chancellor/Sally Spectra. I feel like they kind of wasted the Articulettes reunion. The scenes of Anita reading the letter were amazing, but it didn't really work out having them briefly reunite right before Tunie went on leave. That didn't shake up the canvas as much as it could have, although I'm sure they will get back to it.
  15. Good thinking to look back at those threads! This supports that it was a preemption from TV, but the episodes must have been uploaded online and counted in the monthly count. It really is better that NBC started doing it that way and putting it online. Like recently, when the new Pope was selected, CBS news broke in during Y&R, continued through the full B&B, and finished during BTG. CBS only fully preempted B&B, and uploaded the new episodes of Y&R and BTG online. They easily could have just added B&B as well. Oh, just saw your edit confirming. Great research skills!
  16. This is interesting. Both Y&R and B&B did release episodes those days. I am guessing they were preempted from TV per Nielsen, but CBS must have decided to release them online anyway and not skip a day. Both shows have recaps on Soap Central; Days and GH cite a preemption. https://www.soapcentral.com/young-and-restless/young-and-restless-weekly-recap-for-140714 https://www.soapcentral.com/bold-and-beautiful/bold-and-beautiful-weekly-recap-for-140714
  17. Y&R is typically at least 250 new episodes per year. There's about 260 weekdays and then figure your normal preemptions for sports, news, and holidays. The COVID year it was 177. Prior to that, the last time it was under 250 was in 2001 (248 episodes) and that was with extensive September 11 preemptions.
  18. The other CBS soaps start their seasons in September, but what you are saying makes a lot of sense, padding out the time it takes to fulfill the original 200 episode contract.
  19. Yeah, I watch daily but I miss stuff . The writing can be subtle, in a good way, and I only know later because I read it on here. Like Leslie mentioning brownies to Martin before her big speech or the Hayley pregnancy details from the hospital. I'd be curious to revisit some details like the crooked cops to see how the details from earlier fit in now.
  20. Unless we hear otherwise, I'm just assuming this is to save money by not paying to produce shows to air during slow holiday weeks, which doesn't bode well for late summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. CBS has skin in the game on the production here. It's really not a good precedent at all.
  21. Oh yikes at MVJ not knowing. They should have at least given production and the cast good talking points.
  22. What I mean is that I heard about the reruns and that they were being discussed in this topic. Since that news was so surprising I wanted to read the discussion, which caused me to open this thread with current show discussions which was a spoiler for me because I'm not caught up. Ideally that sort of general information wouldnt be in the current show discussion thread. I get that you didn't have enough information to make a formal post, it's just unfortunate, sorry about how I worded it.
