  1. They did a Memorial Day party in 1997 and Cricket had a special episode in 1998 where she recalled her marriages to Danny and Paul. Not sure if there's others after that.
  2. OMG, this is a perfect description of her, LMFAO. 🤣
  3. Very interesting, thanks! I swear GH uses more than 4 sets just during one segment, and might use as many as 9 in an episode! B&B seems to use 3-4 per episode and that will probably improve with the new studio. So pathetic for Y&R.
  4. But at least we got those Emmy worthy performances from Jess Walton and Tricia Cast at Chance's funeral!
  5. That's clever. She asks him if he is upset because of his brother. 🤣
  6. Deeply recurring, considering no police station set and never any action on screen. Someone will have to go to the coffee house and report on the cases! I can't remember who this guy is because Griffin, Nathan, and Chase were pretty much interchangeable.
  7. In the same way people make the cast lists, it would be quite interesting if someone made monthly lists of the sets used on each soap, just to see how poorly Y&R really is doing. They might even lose to half-hour B&B.
  8. That's precisely my point. If they had certain milestones plotted out to happen around the end of the year, and then suddenly lost two weeks of shows, they may have had to scramble to truncate stories. Unless they knew about the week-long preemptions and took them into account when writing the original scripts, but MJV seemed as confused as the rest of us last time.
  9. The timing is of interest. We know they plan to celebrate Christmas so they had to align the episode with December 25. I thought BTG production didn't know about the first week of reruns, but they must have been informed this time, or else they would be way off. I wonder if they had to scramble when they found out. Could this explain some of the pacing issues?
  10. How many unrated days does Nielsen give the soaps per year? I wonder if CBS is trying to save money by using them all on reruns so they can produce less episodes. Other soaps use them for holidays and partial preemption days.
  11. I freaking knew this would happen. I won't be surprised if it happens again around Thanksgiving and Christmas. The CHCH thing could be as simple as Crave paid for exclusive rights to BTG across Canada and therefore CHCH can't air it anymore. It doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't doing well.
  12. Just tried it, it is the right link but it does appear to be down again. Remember guys, this isn't like YouTube or something, it's one machine tied to the owner's computer, so he could be having any number of issues with his internet or equipment that makes it go down temporarily. It always comes back up eventually.
  13. They better not do that without warning again...
  14. Old Ted had different chemistry with everyone. Heat with Nicole, fatherly bond with his kids, and then surprised me how scary he was with Leslie. Agree I originally thought he and Nicole would reunite but no more.
  15. Interesting. I was thinking about that when Peaches came with the DNA proof that she'd matched samples from Leslie and Barbara's hairbrushes or something, and then Anita called her lawyer and they confirmed it all. That certainly wouldn't fly legally... there's no proof that sample was actually from Barbara. If this were Bill Bell's Y&R, they would have spent a week having Leslie petition a court to exhume Barbara's body, lol. It felt like BTG was trying to satisfy both the savvy soap fans who want DNA confirmation but without dragging it out too long for the newer fans. It is crazy this particular reveal was so rushed. This is a huge shift in the canvas. First of all it would have been better to have Leslie face the consequences of her actions first, then have the Duprees do something unfair to her, and then drop this bombshell when she's at her lowest and we're rooting for her (shades of Jill Foster or Sally Spectra). As I was falling asleep last night I was trying to re-write it in my head to make it tighter but still something that could play out as a short-term arc, maybe 4-6 weeks. Peaches would come to town and we'd establish her adversarial relationship with Leslie. We'd learn a few episodes later about the trust. Meanwhile, Anita would be contacting her lawyers looking for Barbara's family so they could secure the rights to Barbara's vocals to lay them over the Articulettes. We, the audience, would figure it out well before the characters and that's the joy of soaps. Peaches would dribble out information and Leslie would learn about Barbara's sister who was on her deathbed, the last heir. Leslie would go visit her and learn the tragic secret of how Barbara died. She'd be angry. She'd get a lawyer... maybe Tomas, maybe a new character... who would represent her with the trust and negotiating for the vocal rights. Eva would be digging into her grandmother's past, find some old diaries where she talks about Dante (and maybe a one night stand with a civil rights legend passing through town...?) and start to piece things together... Anita would learn Barbara has a daughter and wants to meet her, but the lawyer insists she remain anonymous, and Anita is respectful, feeling guilty and thinking the family blames her for the suicide. They finally sign a deal and plan a big concert/launch party with Barbara's heir agreeing to attend... Anita is thrilled and hoping to make peace... and THAT'S when Leslie reveals herself. I do love the show, so engaging in this kind of spec is just fun, not trying to diss the writers.
  16. I was like... does she want him arrested for this?!
  17. I loved Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids but I'm not sure that satirical vibe would work for daytime 5 days a week. I love the idea that we're even talking as if a new soap were a possibility.
  18. I forgot about that. JG will have to start mentioning the Newmans having an offscreen elevator so he can compete with BTG's production values.
  19. I'm thinking he could have had a one night stand and not even known it was Barbara. We'll see. They have been dropping hints about Vernon never being capable of cheating and Eva could never be a Dupree. They could be red herrings though. What I like about the show is you can go back to prior dialogue and find Easter eggs you had no idea were important (like Leslie mentioning brownies to Martin).
  20. Did you see where Cane said "this looks like the same train but the couch is actually a different color?" How embarrassing, how do the actors make it through! 🤣
  21. I'm behind and just got up to where Christine came back from Chance's "funeral." I burst out laughing when she said it was a full military funeral and that everyone was touched by Dominick's salute... JG, you don't get credit for coming up with those heart-tugging visuals, if you just narrate them, what the hell. 😅
  22. Leslie is either going to end up being Vernon's daughter or having an affair with him.
  23. That makes all the sense in the world! If it's optional, people really can't complain, haha. It would probably be ideal to have some different options like PayPal or Venmo, just to make it as easy as possible for those who already have those apps. Good catch, thanks. I deleted the duplicate.
