  1. It’s been 2 months into this regime - they’ve made strides, and the day to day writing is a lot better. However, the overall plotting isn’t that different from what came before. The Jason return story was all they had for any momentum, and that’s starting to lose steam. It’s painfully obvious that most of the supporting stories are not working or are just boring (Deception nonsense, Sasha’s career rotation, BLQ’s wedding preparations, Blaze’s homophobic mother, etc.). The material itself isn’t great or that compelling, despite the day to day execution being more thoughtful. However, they’re handicapped in a lot of ways too. Starting with the bloated cast and an array of characters I have little faith that the average viewer gives a crap about. That, by design, is what they have to write this show around first and foremost. Deadweight characters are what Valentini and ABC have injected into this show for over a decade and any set of writers have to write around that. So, yes, while I do see positive changes, I can also see why viewers aren’t drawn to tune in as well. Sad to say, unless they’re diehard soap fans like us on this board, the average viewer will remember the plot over some great character moments that happened on a random Tuesday.
  2. Sony would need to sell the broadcast assets, assuming this goes through and the Skydance offer isn’t accepted instead. Sony, Apollo Make Formal Overture To Paramount Board To Discuss Potential $26 Billion Deal
  3. Natalia is a caricature and I hate whenever she’s on. This is not Eva’s fault - this character is one-note and is a drag whenever she’s on. The sooner they write her out, the better.
  4. They need to stop with that terrible actor and this lame writing for him.

  6. It’s very similar to the dynamics Mulcahey often wrote for on Santa Barbara. I think Michael and Willow need to separate or end first though. He doesn’t need to be involved, lol. Maybe Willow and Michael’s relationship can be strained because she ends up spending most of her time working on this non-profit venture with Drew, and not as much with him and the kids like they initially thought. All the while she’s already initiating an emotional affair with Drew, but still blind to the fact he’s f.ucking her mother on the side. Anyway, after the collapse of her marriage to Michael, Drew decides he wants to legitimately be with Willow because he sees her as less baggage, and a more socially acceptable than Nina. Nina is initially hurt (as is Michael, I guess lol), but continues to have sex with Drew, and their feelings start to grow stronger for one another. At the same time, because of their association with Drew, Willow and Nina forge a real relationship for the first time, and after some time, Willow is able to finally call Nina “mom.” Nina is torn because of her growing feelings for Drew and her gratitude to him for helping smooth out her relationship with Willow, and because she knows this affair (should it come out) will be the last straw for Willow and kill all the progress she and Willow have made. It all comes to a head on Drew and Willow’s wedding day, when Drew pulls a Tina Lord and says Nina’s name at the altar. He then leaves Willow and professes his love to Nina in front of everyone in attendance. They can then leave town altogether for all I care, lol. I'd make the story play out over 2-3 years to really build the relationships up for it all to explode.
  7. The only downside is Michael’s involvement and eventually watching CD attempt to play hurt and anger… But, yes, Drew needs to be f.ucking both mother and daughter.
  8. She’s a hypocrite and often completely tone deaf.
  9. Ava’s confession that part of her scheme is to screw over Carly also leads to my belief that Carly and Nina will end up joining forces to expose her.
  10. This Pikeman thread would be a lot more interesting if they didn’t drop it for weeks and then pick it back up again. Unless this leukemia non-profit venture is an exclude for Drew to be f.ucking both Willow and Nina at the same time, I don’t care.

  12. Cynthia Watros talked about how she landed on GL during a GH fan event this weekend: https://twitter.com/ariana_puzzo/status/1784339163493331117/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1784339163493331117&currentTweetUser=ariana_puzzo
  13. I found this interesting - at the fan event Taby, Laura, Finola, and Cynthia did this weekend, someone asked Cynthia about the scenes between Nina and Ava this week and someone else posted this audio along other actor Q&A’s on her Twitter account. It’s interesting how Cynthia talked about choosing to interpret those scenes in a specific way and not playing them as they were written on the surface. https://twitter.com/ariana_puzzo/status/1784344601827905803/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1784344601827905803&currentTweetUser=ariana_puzzo
  14. I think the success of the MCU did a great disservice to the Avengers comics in the modern era, for the most part. Somehow, the approach always needs to mirror the film adaptation, often negating the historical foundation for many of the characters involved.
  15. There was also talk and press reports about CBS wanting to expand B&B to an hour in 95/96, and that GL would be canceled to accommodate that.
  16. After JFP flamed out and the show became overshadowed by her worst tendencies as an EP, I didn’t think it could get any worse. But I was wrong, as Laibson and McTavish was just another kind of awfulness that almost got the show cancelled completely.
  17. Don’t ask some something you’ll never get with a statement like that! 😝 I think the show has struggled with building couples and relationships. So many chem-less or boring pairings still on the canvas. I also don’t think FV has ever known how to produce romantic or passionate scenes. Not like Wendy Riche and Shelley Curtis did back in the 90’s. I liked when Curtis talked about that a bit in her State of Mind interview with Maurice, because it’s so true. Hell, even when Sonny and Brenda were breaking up back in the day, the atmosphere, music, dialogue, and the way the scenes were produced had so much passion and grit, you could still feel something even if you weren’t a fan. You won’t get scenes produced this way in FV’s sterile production method.
  18. Patrick Mulcahey is credited solo or with Nancy Williams Watt for a bit after Curlee left. But there were rapid changes at that time, felt like the HW-ing credits were changing week to week in 1994 - it’s no wonder that was such an awful year for the show.
  19. Why was DAYS so desperate to ape GH in the 80’s and failing to remember that Pat Falken Smith started at DAYS before going to GH in the first place?
  20. Slightly off topic - but when PFS came back to DAYS in 1981, NBC ran a commercial promo about “having the writer from GH now!” I wish that was still up, and why did no one bother to tell NBC PFS started at DAYS? Oh, here it is. How tacky:
