Jerry Orbach was gone for several years and the show continued just fine. With some good casting, there's no reason TOS couldn't thrive. With all the former soap and the Broadway actors in New York, it's easy to find cast members. OC is doing reasonably well due to Stabler, and decent writing. As much as the former cast is appreciated, just changing districts with a different cast of characters would work and the others could be referenced as former/ current colleagues. Besides, Anthony Anderson will be looking for work now that Black-ish is ending. He could be the captain now...😃

Elizabeth and Finn have a sibling chemistry to me. I thought he would have been good as Stephen Lars 56 characters ago. Elizabeth deserves a real romance after all those years with the serial killer that stole her child. It's too soon after losing a spouse for any kind of serious relationship. Ditto on Anna/Valentin. His crawl toward "redemption" was done over time, and they showed the beats with Alexis, Anna, even the Q's. Unlike Jillian who we kept being subjected to, no matter what sins he committed. (Among the list of pets.) The Anna and Valentin combo is so much more enjoyable than her time with Debbie Downer.

While I like CS as a villain, I agree with @KMan101 that he doesn't come off as a Cassadine, especially Victor. Thaao has a certain panache or style. Victor (who, by the way wasn't as insane as Mikkos in the freeze the world story, a villain, but not in the leagues of a Cesa.r Faison), was a more regal character BITD like Tony DiMera. FrankenRon had a "League of interchangeable Villains" when they took over. They pulled Victor in with the ranks of Helena, Jerry, Julian, Liesl (at the time). Shaughnessy is great. As Victor, I'm 50/50. Scotty and Liesl are so perfect a match. The only good thing that ever came from the abysmal Franko character. (That and Scott's father figure role to Elizabeth. Killing Karen, and Logan and never bringing Sabrina back left the character rudderless and alone. His stepping into that role is reminiscent of Lee Baldwin adopting Meg's family as his own.) His falling for Liesl also has led him into her family--namely Britt, and he is even in on her Huntington's diagnosis. 🥲As someone that is adopted, I find it offensive when people use the phrase, not so and so's real child. I guess by that statement, I shouldn't be happy and relieved if there were a crash, I was waiting at the hospital for news, and my parents came in; okay. (As far as Wallow is concerned, she never should have lasted past Dawn of Duh, so her adopting Wiley is just more #firefrank propping Sobbbrina Wallow.) While not a big Corinthos family fan, it makes perfect sense that Michael and Joss who spent most of her time growing up around Sonny. As for Kristina, I can't think off the top of my head of scenes outside of Alexis, Molly or Sam in a LONG time. Definitely a bone thrown there. I think I would feel worse for Carly or Jason if he hadn't only admitted loving her three episodes before the wedding. If I had seen his demeanor changing or they had the relationship evolving would be one thing, but it was just, "Hey, we're getting married in two hours (days) I guess I do love you even if I pined for Britt up til yesterday."
