  1. I think in January 1995 Y&R was preempted: (though not 100% Certain) Jan 2,23,30 Y&R for some reason seemed immune to most of the later O.J coverage then the other soaps....
  2. Which was the one with Don Diamont's butt in it? I think that was 1996, was that the Victor getting shot episode. Funnily here in Australia those episodes aired during the day as normal (well 3 years later) LOL the butt shot was the 1995 one...
  3. Great shot of those 3 ladies! I didn't realize they did two in 1996? I know that's the one where Victor got shot, but didn't realize there was another.....
  4. THANK YOU!!! great to finally be able to see all those episodes again, and I will definitely save them better this time too! LOL
  5. It's just so hard to be certain LOL.....like on my episodes sometimes when there is breaking news, they do one of those alert messages saying one of the soaps will be preempted for that afternoon....Y&R seemed to hardly get effected by this, if not only having the first half preempted, but B&B ATWT and GL always seemed to have full days preempted....and I'm not sure if that meant they just skipped that episode entirely or showed it the next day.....I know on my October 1990 episodes the world series did preempt GL from 10/5-10/10 1990 I think, but Y&R and the others still had full weeks I believe.... I think they started doing a "no show" on "black friday" again from 1995 onwards (except when they air classics or repeats) but 1991 to maybe 94 they always had a show.....on the 11/26/93 episode I have they also advertise "Circus of the stars" which aired on that Friday.....(even though I get a feeling TV advertisements could be questionable too) 2/21/94 was preempted also for Oympic coverage oh and I read recently that Y&R was also preempted on 7/25/94 for more O.J
  6. Going by holidays, history, and CBS sports coverage, these are the pre-emption dates I compiled for 1987-1992. 1987 January 1: New Year's Day May 25: NBA Playoff Memorial Day afternoon game but not certain on that July 13-August 7: Iran-Contra Hearings; not sure how much the daytime lineup was affected September 7 and September 11: US Open Tennis November 26 and 27: Thanksgiving December 25: Christmas 1988 January 1: New Year's Day May 30: NBA Playoff Memorial Day afternoon game but not certain on that September 5 and 9: US Open Tennis November 24 and 25: Thanksgiving 1989 January 2: Cotton Bowl; New Year's Day was Sunday so the bowl games were on Monday January 20: George Bush Inauguration May 29: NBA Playoff Memorial Day afternoon game but not certain on that September 4 and 8: US Open Tennis November 23 and 24: Thanksgiving December 25: Christmas Tiananmen Square, Berlin Wall, Czechoslovakia revolution have resulted in pre-emptions but not certain on that 1990 January 1: New Year's Day May 28: NBA Playoff Memorial Day afternoon game but not certain on that September 3 and 7: US Open Tennis October 4-12: Major League Baseball playoffs; there may have been some weekday afternoon games but not certain on that November 22 and 23: Thanksgiving December 25: Christmas Desert Storm may have resulted in pre-emptions but not certain on that 1991 January 1: New Year's Day March 14 and 15: NCAA Men's Basketball; the first year CBS had the broadcasting rights for the entire tournament September 2 and 6: US Open Tennis October 8-17: Major League Baseball playoffs; there may have been some weekday afternoon games but not certain on that November 28 and 29: Thanksgiving December 25: Christmas Desert Storm, Yugoslavia breakup, Magic Johnson announcement, Soviet Union breakup may have resulted in pre-emptions but not certain on that 1992 January 1: New Year's Day March 19 and 20: NCAA Men's Basketball September 7 and 11: US Open Tennis October 7-14: Major League Baseball playoffs; there may have been some weekday afternoon games but not certain on that November 26 and 27: Thanksgiving December 25: Christmas Cool! thanks for this list! this all seems pretty legit, though I still have to say that I think all soaps aired episodes on black friday from at least 1991 till sometime in the early 2000's.......I have a Y&R episode that aired on 11/26/93 after thanksgiving. also for 1992 all soaps were preempted for winter Olympic coverage on February 17, and 21, 1992. also, though you don't have this date listed, I think Y&R was preempted for O.J on these dates: June 30, July 1-5-8, 1994.... This still makes me wish for a Jason47 type of site for Y&R/B&B LOL
  7. Did Lauren actually ever tell Paul that Sheila had been alive, or was it only in 2005 that we had ever got a reaction from Paul about Sheila since 1992? It's always funny how even during Sheila's initial run, Lauren was treated more like the victim (which she was don't get me wrong) but it was only after Sheila was presumed dead and went to B&B, that Lauren's claws came back and she reverted to the same bitch she had always been deep down.....I noticed she even dressed more "vixeny" after Sheila's "death" versus how she looked before. It's so clear how she never really gave a damn about Scott as Sheila always said, but the fact that she didn't even at least try to maintain some sort of relationship with Cricket after Scott's death especially because of Scotty, is such a low blow....I feel like everything would have been the opposite with Sheila, and I even bet Cricket would have forgiven Sheila as fast as Scott technically did.... It's also too bad we never got a reaction from Olivia about Scott's death, she's clearly very upset looking at the results during that one scene, but I don't think they ever acknowledge his death to her once he did die....unless they brought it up way later..................that's why I admit sometimes Bill Bell isolating everyone could be annoying as I feel like it would have been nice to see all the characters bond more together after such a tragic loss....like Lauren who never really had any friends except ex lovers starting a friendship with Olivia, which would actually make sense given how Paul and Nathan were best friends....
  8. ugh, I just went with my gut instinct......plus it clearly says 10/20/93 on the video recording thing that pops up midway through the 10/20/93 episode, and like I said if Northern Exposure came on Monday's, that clearly means everything is correct, but who knows though.....It's just really a shame that a problem like this occurred as I always wanted to see the full episodes of this particular Sheila crossover to reveal she's alive to Scott, yet the fact the airdates are now questionable breaks my heart.....I don't mean to sound obsessive but it's the truth, LOL.... Your very welcome! and minus the airdate problem I'm still happy I got these episodes...Yeah everything you said was a bit odd, but the oddest thing though is that they basically took almost an entire set of scenes that also aired on B&B that day with Sheila and Eric into that 10/19/93 Y&R's episode.....I get that some viewers even with Sheila's crossover's maybe didn't follow B&B, but they should have just ended that scene with Sheila appearing in the background as Eric finished his call with Lauren, since those same exact scenes were replayed on B&B that same day (that episode used to be posted on youtube so that's how I remember)..... I think this is the only Sheila crossover that didn't rope in Lauren, minus the one scene of her looking in on her and Scott but then quickly ducking away....I actually didn't expect to have a scene of Cricket almost catching her after she finished her visit with Scott....I always love little rare scenes like this, and sort of wish Cricket had found out about Sheila not being dead...I don't know why but I could see her keeping that from Lauren even if she already knew she was alive....
  9. 1993 dates I'm pretty certain Y&R didn't air: Friday January 1 - New Year's Day Thursday March 18 and Friday March 19 - NCAA Men's Basketball Monday September 6 and Friday September 10 - US Open Tennis Monday September 13 (possible but not 100% certain) - CBS news coverage of Oslo Accords signing Thursday November 25 and Friday November 26 - Thanksgiving Thanks! all those seem right except I think January 20, also had a preemption for Clinton's inauguration, also I can't be certain if September 13,93 was preempted, and there was a show on November 26.I think they only started preempting Thursday and Friday for thanksgiving week a few years later. The reason I asked about October 18-22. 1993 was because I noticed during the credits (which are partial) of the 10/22/93 episode which is suppose to be Friday's show that, that Clarence gave his preview for the next episode but said "TOMORROW" instead of Monday like he usually does if it was a friday....I always thought Clarence was a reliable source for some of the dates, unless he made a mistake, but if not I can only assume maybe some sort of preemption pushed the episodes back...... Also on Monday October 25, 1993 they show a commercial for an all new episode of "Northern Exposure" which usually came on Monday's.....so I can only assume my dates are right and Clarence was wrong....for once. haha
  10. last October 1993 for now 10/25/93
  11. Was this the first time Sheila crossed over back to Y&R No, Sheila had already been crossing back over at least a year by this point.....the first time was in October 1992 when she revealed herself to her mother....The last crossover before coming back full time (briefly) in 2005 was Feb/March 1995. I think all of Sheila's Y&R crossover dates are: October 27-28, Nov 3-5, 1992, January 7,8,12-14, 1993, February 19,22,23,24,26, March 1,2, 1993 October 20-27, 1993, February 28-March 2, 1995. She also made some phone appearances between 1992-1994. 10/21/93
  12. Some new October 1993 Uploads! 10/18/93 10/19/93 10/20/93
  13. interesting....but even if that was so long before her days of playing various schemers on other soaps....I feel that would have been a miscast.....maybe if JLB had left as Lorie at the time, I could see Chapman playing her.
  14. Yeah I did too.....and it was nice not having either Hope OR Steffy on for a while but of course that didn't last............KM seems to have landed a few roles lately (including one where she showed her "you know whats", LOL) but I'm sure they will just recast Hope at some point......now that she's been mentioned lately you know it's coming....I would just honestly give Hope and Steffy a fresh start and realize it was silly feuding over Liam of all people.....they totally overdid it with the triangle so I feel like them being friends would be a lot more pleasant IMO......Liam can go for all I care......I would laugh if Steffy finally realizing she should go back to Bill is what sends Liam packing.... I freaking hate Y&R's soundtrack......it's every bit of generic as all the other soaps....(even B&B's music isn't as good) but what were we suppose to expect....? The thought of JFP and Pratt getting pushed out someday and then having someone who wants the old feel of the show back along with the music, would truly be a dream come true.....I can almost picture that happening maybe 5 years from now if Y&R is lucky.....haha. I think those were from me....LOL my old channel that was public for a couple years was passnum1 (I forgot if you knew that) so I did upload those 2 episodes originally......I wouldn't be surprise if saynotoursoap also had those dates as I contacted him once and he told me he basically hand a handful of Sheila episodes...but he said he had the episodes where Lauren's "baby" Dylan dies....and Rex's funeral.....and I definitely do not have those episodes yet...haha. I agree, I wouldn't know honestly if Lauren knew how much havoc Michael caused all those years ago....I feel like if the character is reformed they always suger coat it by saying things like "I made a lot of mistakes" or "I did some unforgiving stuff" not really giving the impressing of what they did exactly....It's hard to be certain but I do wonder if Kimberlin was suppose to be back longer if it weren't for her being in her accident......I shudder to think they would have still killed her anyways even though they did Pheila.....but apparently LML wanted to "finish the story" and that indicates Sheila's demise.... haha Oh yes, I do remember the shocking headlines that KM had landed a pretty raunchy role in some movie. I was relieved at the time, I figured that was a sure sign she'd be gone for quite a while. But, to top off my admission of missing the character in a way, I dread the thought of a recast. I've disliked every rendition of Bridget ever since Jennifer Finnigan left, I hope history doesn't repeat itself there. Exactly. I really hope the whole Hope/Steffy thing isn't us having to put up with them fighting over a man for the next 15 years. I could never imagine any woman or man putting up with as much screwing around as these three, now Ivy added into the mix. Granted, I do like the Steffy/Ivy dynamic because they do seem alike in so many ways. And as for Bill, I would actually rather see a Bill/Steffy pairing again over Brooke/Bill/Katie. I find it amusing that with those two, their relationship seems to work for me, but Ridge/Caroline just does not. I cannot accept that the man that married her aunt nearly thirty years ago is now married to her niece, I just cannot do it. haha It is sad that only a few years ago we were dreaming of the day that MAB was kicked to the curve, and now this is happening. Granted, I'm pretty much long past the days of dreaming for them to at least try and emulate the Y&R feel. I can't even narrow down to when exactly they last did that. haha I'm pretty sure it was your channel. I almost completely forgot about it. I actually do still have the two farmhouse episodes from saynotoursoap on my old computer packed away somewhere in my house. In fact, there may be a lot more Y&R stuff on there that I may have backed up on it if they haven't been erased. B&B also. Oh, speaking of this, I finally got around to ordering the Paul and Christine hit and run storyline. Yeah, I also remember hearing about LML just wanting to be rid of Sheila altogether. I'm not sure how far in advance scripts for Y&R are written, but since Kimberlin confirmed she was asked to come back, I have to wonder if, and if so, how much of that storyline was rewritten to suit the plastic surgery add-on. I can't lie, there are things in that storyline that I do like and can imagine was written for Kimberlin, but then there's A LOT that seems so rushed and so thrown in there at the last minute. Especially Pheila's final week, that entire climax of the storyline was so freaking OTT that it was unbelievably embarrassing. Yeah, I'm glad she has found some success....though I feel like that doesn't have to be about her walking around topless....LOL, KM does deserve to be apart or even star in her own primetime show......I agree I can only tolerate them recasting for so long...whether it's Y&R or B&B I just wish they would stick to one that works and not do anything, but when you think about it, it's usually their fault for not coming up with better material....I hate to say I almost feel guilty for liking some of the current recasts just because their part has gotten recast time and time again.... I wish Brad Bell sometimes wouldn't rely too much on the international success or whatever he thinks it is that has made the show successful with all the triangles over the years.....yes Brooke/Ridge/Taylor is a successful triangle but everything with the younger generation just hasn't worked out as well...at least as far as we the fans are concerned,so it's just better if they had dropped all that nonsense.....yeah Ivy/Steffy was interesting only cause I thought it would be refreshing to see 2 family members fight over Liam, but then it just turned into a mess with all the accidents.....yeah I have know idea why they can't do Bill/Steffy again, as I think it would explain a lot and like I said if Liam would leave in a huff because of that (hell, maybe he should just decide offscreen he's going to Europe to reunite with Hope LOL) it would be great to see! LOL I would love for Ridge just to explode on Bill though for being such a big hypocrict in regards to Bill getting with his daughter... haha yeah and before that I'm sure everyone was waiting for LML to get shown the door and she lasted the shortest....it kind of gulls me now that they dare think Pratt is better then her...since you figured one of the reasons LML was fired was because they were so horrified at everything she did, but yet somehow they accept the antics of JFP and Pratt....and I get so sick of the "oh the ratings keep going up".....you are telling me it wasn't the same thing with LML cause she did lots of shocking things.....I just don't get it... I'm gonna have to make a list of everything I have uploaded....I did that a while ago but I updated a bit of videos lately so it will be nice for everyone to have an organize list.....I'm so excited for those episodes! I still haven't gotten the ones I ordered.....I don't even know if the check was delivered yet and with all the snow we got backing everything up I have a feeling it will be a while...:( I'm sure some of the beginning Pheila stuff was written with Kimberlin in mind, but once they realized it wasn't working out as plan or had decided to kill her if that's what they weren't going to do originally , they just had Stafford ham it up as Pheila....
  15. Oh yes I love it when they start out with the creepier background music, letting you know the villain will be front and center that day.....then it's always funny where they have to go to lighter scenes for some tension relief and they always seem to use that slow peaceful Violin music to contrast the scenes(3/7/91 for example when Nina is confronting David before she shoots him and then it jumps back to Paul at the hospital with Lynne when Lauren was about to give birth to Scotty)......That's why it's always so amazing when they have Katherine and Jill scenes play out the same episode as Sheila and Lauren scenes cause they really liked to show the contrast with Kay and Jill being the comic relief (for the most part)....despite their even bitter feud....That high pitched music box music that is played on the start of the 2/4/92 episode above always gives off more of a Sheila vibe to me.....It's one of my favorite cues but the fact that it has more of a distorted sound is pretty creepy......... Hope did get very irritable towards the end and her playing both Wyatt and Liam, was just as bad as Liam playing her and Steffy and now him playing Ivy and Steffy (though I guess Steffy/Liam are suppose to be endgame....rolls eyes.....) I still wish people would have open their eyes more in regards to Steffy.....I could get Bill rooting for her cause he was almost with her himself (part of the reason why I think he's so obsessive of her being with Liam) but minus a few scenes I don't think Hope really deserved to get slammed by Bill as much as she did....I was kind of annoyed recently when Brooke was talking to Bill and Katie about Hope being in Monte Carlo, that Bill sort of rolled his eyes....like she's been out of the picture for over a year now and he's still being a prick about her......even though despite playing Liam and Wyatt she almost gave him a grandchild...... as for Ivy, it's hard to root for her, but I feel like she was thrown under the bus for Steffy once she came back. LOL thank goodness once Lauren came back for good in 2001 she grew it out again.......I said this before but some women on soaps can make short hair work like Katherine and some just need to stick to longer hair......yes I forgot about Ashley in 2002 LOL I didn't know that saynotoyoursoap had that episode? I know he said he had a bit of early 90's which sadly he never got around to uploading....(damn youtube) but I just remember those 2 farmhouse episodes being his big Y&R uploads..... It's funny cause I feel like you almost have had to watch all of Sheila's 2005 stint before watching that scene with Michael meeting her.......I can't explain why but that's how I felt when I first saw that scene. Yeah I wish both Sheila and Michael had flashbacked to meeting each other cause She did look up Michael, while he was digging for info on her.......I feel like it would have been even better if once he heard the last name Grainger that would have triggered something inside of him and he would be like "I met this woman"..... I honestly still don't get however why they didn't include Cricket in most of the 2005 stuff along with maybe some of the flashbacks she could have remembered like the dinner party....it was more like "Oh yeah I had a brother and a nephew but I haven't seen him in years....Lauren and I aren't close enough to talk about it....." I really wish we would have gotten a reaction from Sheila on Michael stalking Cricket Scott's sister.....so much was overlooked when you think about it............. Oh, I rejoiced when I found out KM was leaving just so that love triangle would just die already. To be truthful, I think Ivy's been annoying me almost as much lately. Instead of her blaming Steffy for 'stealing' Liam away, I'd just love it if she called him out for being a spineless and gutless weasel, and not kissing his ass so much. I cannot believe that three women are in love with this guy, they might as well just arrange to have him in monthly intervals by this point. I hate to bag on current Y&R again, because in a few years I pretty much have zero doubt what's airing now will be tolerable by comparison, but that is one of the more annoying aspects of JFP's reign: the music. It actually cheapens the show for me, I despise it. I don't think they could have compiled a more generic soundtrack if they tried. Hell, at least LML and MAB for the most part stayed consistent with using the old cues. I think it was saynotoursoap. I found quite a few episodes that I'm sure we're on their channel once upon a time, such as the Grainger dinner and a 1990 episode where Sheila voices her opinion on Lauren to Scott, followed by her daydreaming about a life with him. Hell, this might have even been when you first started uploading now that I think about it. It was quite a while ago. One thing I did appreciate during the scenes with Sheila digging up info on Michael was her horror that Lauren was able to forgive Michael for his horrible past. Like I've said in the past, not that I ever really root for Sheila despite loving her dastardly deeds, I would have been curious if that didn't absolutely infuriate her. 2005 definitely had its fair share of problems. But I do wonder what they had planned for Kimberlin when she was due to return at the end of 2006. They seemed so excited to have her back and intent on keeping her around for a while. It's a shame things turned out the way they did. 16. It just set the tone of both shows immediately. I actually mentioned this in a seminar I did at college recently, I used the opening to 10/04/1991 as an example. That ungodly creepy music cue I used to only be able to associate with Sheila, but David is the first person to come to mind nowadays. That truly was a morbid, eerie, sadistic storyline, and I loved every second of it I actually picked up on that too. Steffy's antics definitely remind me of Brooke's early years with Eric and Ridge more than anything. I used to utterly loathe Hope, but I have to admit, after going over some 2014 episodes recently, I actually miss her. Hell, I don't even mind Ivy dare I say it. The only thing I have to say on that one is I would love it if they stopped giving her the victim card to play, I would love it if her devilish side came out and she went up against Steffy or Quinn. hahaha Oh, you didn't think I was going to let that one slide did you? haha Yeah, I remember that being a thing for a while there. Hell, I just have to go through my photo albums, people such as my aunt and my mother had that hairdo and do not have fond memories of it I remember Ashley had a similar hairstyle around 2002 wasn't it? Wow, thanks for that! I actually remember seeing this episode on YT years ago, I think it was on saynotoursoap's channel. I'm surprised I didn't remember that scene. I'm absolutely digging how intrigued Michael was about her too. Oh, if only he knew I am surprised that scene was never used for the 2005 flashbacks. But, as you said, even if they did forget about this scene entirely, you could narrow it down to Michael himself just forgetting, considering how much happened between them meeting and her return over 10 years later. It would have been a sweet scene however, in the opening to 08/08/2005 when Michael was going through the GC archives, if he saw her face and recognised her. I would buy it if he only knew her as Sheila Grainger to begin with. 17. Thanks! Dang.....Jack was an ass.......how they even fixed Jack and Ashley's relationship later is a mystery now that I watched this.....that's so unforgivable to do that to your own sister.... I will say, I kind of wish sometimes that Jack was always the cruel bastard while Victor was the good guy throughout the show's history....maybe I'm thinking that cause the show seems to think that Victor vs.Jack has always been the heart of the show (of course Jill/Katherine will always hold that tittle) and even with Bill Bell both were always seem to be written as the male leads of the show....but if Victor and Jack were more of a male version of say Vikki and Dorian,(Victor being Vikki and Jack Dorian) IDK I just think it would justify how they are both written as the leads now if that makes sense....
  18. That's what I thought and some people were like "Hey John doesn't know that Ashley isn't his daughter" back in 2006 upon's John's death. It wouldn't have mattered anyways. However I did think it was bit of stretch for Terry Lester's Jack to go as far as to shame Ashley for not being John's real daughter. What a jerk! I forgot about Nina slapping Phyllis after her continuous affair with Ronan, that was one of the first things the Griffith regime did to knock Phyllis back down off the pedestal she had been on since the Phick affair. Sandra Nelson's two year tenure is so underrated and not credited enough for the amount of work and story that Nelson covered as Phyllis. Does anyone even remember that Jack and Phyllis had their start under Nelson? I sometimes even forget they weren't related LOL......I'm still annoyed that they almost had Victor blackmail Ashley with that secret.....after their whole affair, it didn't make sense, and I'm glad they dropped it......though I'm sure it was either Braeden or even Davidson that had them drop it..... I still wish more of Lester's Jack was on youtube, I mostly have seen his final year in 1989, when he's really hamming it up.....I have a feeling if I were able to watch his entire stint I would probably think that Jack deserved all that Victor did with Jabot later.....Lester was the better A.hole as Jack then Bergman ever was. I'd like to say it would've have had to have been Braeden suddenly remembered in the Marco story Victor helped and saved Ashley from losing her sanity over the Brent revelation, where as Jack was the villain in the story from the clips I watched. "Give me complete executive control on Jabot before I tell Dad first about your secret!" to a terrified Ashley. Again I would have found such a scene more believable if Brenda Dickson's Jill knew the truth and been all "Show those pictures in the cabin and John finds out his beauty isn't his!" before Lester's Jack being sadistic to Davidson's Ashley. I'll give Braeden credit if he did intervene this time.....though I don't get (minus the fact he just wants Victor to win) why he has allowed this crap with him and Marco..... That would have been great and I can just see Dickson really eating up those scenes if she knew the truth.....gosh, I love Jess and she did play Jill as a fury ruthless beast for years, but I was just reminded that Dickson's Jill was just ruthless period.....they really did try to make her the Alexis of Y&R....
  19. I guess I was thinking about a rare occasion I thought I heard Victor/Braeden say that.......but I feel like he would hopefully be a bit more professional (despite everything) and wouldn't let others get the blame for not saying their lines right..... I wouldn't be surprise if it was Shemar Moore or someone else who had a brief time with her before leaving (Scott Reeves?.....LOL) I have heard that Davidson and LeBlanc can be nightmares to work with cause they are just plain crazy.....if Victoria Rowell throws shade at Davidson by replying "no comment" to someone who asked her what he was like to work with on twitter, you know it's gotta be true...LOL
  20. I love that CBS Sterosound logo as well. The one thing I despise the most in regards to the first 'Best of' DVD release is they edited them out at the beginning of each episode, and not with much care because you can just hear the last section of the music cues they'd play over it. Oh, I know what you mean, I LOVE Quinn! I'm disappointed Stephanie isn't around to witness all the chaos that she's caused. Can you imagine the hell she'd raise if she was around to discover her son nearly died in that helicopter accident because of Quinn and Bill? I'm hoping this is just the calm before the storm. I was worried after she nearly killed Liam that she wouldn't be around for much longer. Jill really has lost that larger than life sense of style hasn't she. Hell, no matter how campy an outfit looks, she somehow manages to make it look good. I absolutely HATED that shorter cut she adopted for all those years. Still, the one character out of everybody that made shout 'Oh, hell no!' in terms of hair style was Lauren back in 2000 when she had it cut beyond short. Oh wow, Sheila and Michael had met previously? I had zero idea. I can't even remember if it was mentioned in any of those 2005 flashbacks or what, but I was always under the impression they'd never met until she returned to GC. Good for Bill Bell though. If that was his intention to give Sheila and David a scene just for the hell of it, at least he was clearly having fun writing all of this. haha I did notice that.....but really, I know they started doing those in like 1988 or 1989, but it just made the show a lot more interesting to watch.....I sometimes cringe a little if an episode decides not to show it for some reason, LOL Oh Stephanie would loathe Quinn for sure......but I feel like she would totally just blame Quinn for everything and not really bother with Bill which would annoy me.....gosh I just hated how Stephanie while not actually doing anything had the gull to call Hope a "Logan" cause she was trying to save her relationship with Liam....Steffy was and IS still the Brooke there and Taylor and Stephanie had to be totally blinded by that......if anything I feel like Stephanie should have been warning Steffy that her antics with Liam are reminding her too much of Brooke. It just made no sense....I'm not saying Hope is totally innocent but she was ganged up on those years.....I get so annoyed when any show goes into that phase were all the manipulating people gang up on the "innocent" person while supporting the other girl's actions....almost like they are trying to put out "bad is more fun and good is boring"... I can;t believe it's been almost 15 years that Jill's hair has never fully recovered....even the way it looks now, with it being sort of grown back isn't as appealing as it should be.... Oh G*D! you had to bring up that hideous short hair of Lauren's!...LOL, I still remember a comment made on one of those 2000 episodes when Lauren came back to help Mackenzie with the prom and was talking with Katherine, who also had a lot shorter hair then, that they looked like lesbian lovers. and they did, haha....I don't know what it was but it seemed like 1998-2001, the short hair look was in for practically all the leading divas on soaps.........Y&R had Katherine, Nikki,Lauren,Olivia (though she wore a wig mostly) and even Nina with really short hair, and on B&B Stephanie and Brooke got into it to (though Flannery's short hair was a wig too cause of cancer) I guess it was just a popular style then.....unfortunately for people like Lauren and Nina it just didn't look right...haha here is the episode where Michael and Sheila meet It is really weird how they didn't have Michael or even Cricket remember them meeting as you will see here SHE introduced them.....I don't know why it's hard to keep little details like that in check.....but I think it certainly would have been more interesting if Michael remembered this......though to be honest sometimes people do forget meeting people from a long time ago....
  21. I'm almost tempted to say that I'm completely disappointed about Ryan's death, but I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a riveting way for him to leave the show. Those were great episodes to watch. I always laugh my ass off whenever I see Victor throw the chair through that window and jump out into the streets I'm glad to hear he's still getting work. I remember watching The Wolf of Wall Street for the first time and thinking 'I know that reporter from somewhere', and wouldn't you know it, it was Sandra Nelson. I couldn't believe it. I was actually gunning for them to get her back after MS departed, but I'm glad they didn't. Although I abhor the stepford wife routine that Phyllis has adopted, GT's just that good an actress, and whenever the old Phyllis comes out, she sells it. The thing with MS' Phyllis was that, although I loved her devilish ways, she could be such a pantomime villain and campy. Sandra's Phyllis for me seemed like a serious and genuine threat under all circumstances. A lot of people I know consider MS the most evil, but I've always thought Sandra Nelson was the darker one out of the three. It was a great story with Tricia shooting him, and yep Victor was in a good place and I liked that whatever he felt about Ryan in the past seemed to dissolve especially after he took the bullet for him....now I kind of wish Ryan had let Victor get shot....
  22. It sounded like Bergman, until she got to the "What's Up?" part......then my mind flashed to Braeden.....I can just see that horrible smirk of his knowing she got the blame.....
  23. I don't really recall Ryan's character at all when I was watching his final years, but seeing his stint from the beginning has made me disappointed that he's no longer around. And as for Nina, oh god yes, her slapping Phyllis was FANTASTIC! That has to be some of the best dialogue exchange in a long time: Phyllis: "This coming you, the person who trademarked lying, cheating tramp." Nina: "Only because you'd trademarked greedy, sneaky whore!" Oh, as much as I love Gina in the role, I could never in a million years picture Michelle even trying to sell half the stuff that Phyllis has said and done over the past year. Speaking of Phyllis, I went back and watched some of Sandra Nelson's performance last night. I'm not going to lie, I actually loved her in the role. This was early 1998 when Phyllis, Danny and Christine flew to New York to obtain Sasha's manuscript. I didn't even know I had them. I had no idea that slap during the BeLief fight was genuine. Wow, I didn't think I could love that scene anymore than I already do. I'm not sure if this was just an edit from several episodes from around the same week as the fight, but I was thrilled when I found a YT clip that featured a scene between Taylor and Sheila discussing Brooke and the formula while all hell was breaking loose at FC. I'd never really seen the two interact before. Yeah like I said, Ryan wasn't one of the characters that made an impression on me either when I was little, as I didn't even know he was on the show till I got into it......the first thing that caught my eye is how young he looked or how young Scott Reeves looked, like I know in real life he was 25 when he first came on(weird that he will be 50 this year!) but he did only look 19-21 which was suppose to be the character's age anyways.....his wife actually always looked a bit older then him though she's a year younger which is kind of funny, still always thought they were an attractive couple (with attractive kids now I can say) of course I always have to throw in that I was stunned that Ryan came on so early as 1991 when Sheila's arc was in full swing....I said this before but visually the way both characters looked seemed miles apart from each other, yet they were on the same show for less then a year.....with Sheila's crossovers the next 2-3 years.....yeah I'm with you, though Ryan did start out as a sleaze he does represent the type of man Y&R lacks today (kind of Like Scott Grainger).....I'm sure if he were still around he would totally do a major 180 as most characters have...It would be cool if Reeves came back on another soap (maybe B&B) but I like that he's gotten some primetime stuff....he was recently on the MTV show "Finding Carter" and played an alcoholic abusive deadbeat dad who tried to reconcile with his son who's one of the main characters I guess but things got violent and he got sent to Jail.....it's weird cause at his current age I always said he would be good getting those types of roles now (probably cause he sort of has that look now) and that's exactly what it was........With that being said it was interesting that he was on an MTV show where I'm sure you know has all these young good looking people all over their shows, and he was now the adult after having that younger role for years on Y&R..................which of course was always so much more old fashioned (in a good way) then all the younger shows now..... Phyllis really deserved that and Nina was the perfect person to do it, LOL, yeah I heard Sandra's Phyllis was pretty popular and I have seen a few clips and they were all good.....It's too bad she probably wasn't considered when they first decided they were going to recast Phyllis with GT...I mean SN probably doesn't act much these days, but I honestly thought that would be kind of cool to get her back.
  24. I would probably go with B&B having the better production design. At least when I look at it, I feel like I'm watching Bold, even if the writing isn't...well, great, or even passable. That's what I loved about the Brooke/Sheila dynamic. Them bonding over their hatred of Stephanie was just great. It was nice to finally see Stephanie up against someone completely out of control and willing to go to limits that only she would go to once upon a time. I'm just disappointed they never crossed paths again after 2002. Was Sheila's final reign of terror in GC ever acknowledged on B&B? hahaha Oh, I laughed until I cried at Jill's handywork on David. The look on Katherine's face just made it even better Oh yeah, I remember you telling me about that scene in John Silva's office. I don't think I could have tracked that episode down faster if I tried, I was over the moon when I saw that. I had to chuckle at his comment about them. If only he knew, I almost get the feeling he'd admire Sheila for her equally twisted ways. I feel like Y&R was the opposite of that for a while....while I admit the production was pretty solid till maybe 2005/2006, starting from even the early 2000's I don't think it was ever as good as it was before that.....the writing was at least strong though, so that's what held it together...IDK it just seems like the real classic look disappeared as early as before 1999 IMO....and it's kind of a weird obsessive thing to say, but I always love the episodes starting with the "CBS Sterosound" logo cause it made the show look more movie like....same with B&B, but I always like Y&R's better cause they start it with their background music most of the time.... Oh I agree, Stephanie really had it coming with all the stuff she pulled the first 5 years, whether she was driven to do it or not.....It's so sad that even today someone who had potential like Quinn to cause damage to characters who deserve it, like Bill have never full been developed and or made to look weaker then they should be.....and I say that cause I like Quinn and her causing Chaos to Liam was great fun....but Bill really deserves payback for just being a prick altogether....LOL haha, yeah the scene was so perfect and to top it all off, Jill and Kay both looked so good int hat scene.....seriously I know the 80's/90's had some OTT wardrobe but the outfits are part of the characters and Jill's were a character of their own (like her long hair) which is why I cringed of how frumpy she dresses the last 12 years or so! I love that episode and have watched it several times....haha, it's also crazy that in another 1992 episode Sheila met Michael when she was visiting Cricket....I would have never guessed they interacted before the 2005 stuff, Cricket introduced them and they shook hands, LOL he seemed so captivated by her.......I guess Bill Bell wanted Sheila to at least have one scene with the big male psychos at the time, for the fun of it...haha
