Hopefully that does happen. Bill and Liam really don’t have a place on the show anymore and yes, Kelly calls Finn “daddy”.

Dollar Bill has been nothing but a cartoon for the last few years. It won’t happen but I’d welcome Brad coming back from the dead. Though Ron will probably bring him back to Days as his character Carlo From 1983 or 1984 :D

Regardless of the books, which provide additional details like the demos, I do now have all of the main data for the remainder of 1992-1999, so no worries, all preemption data will eventually be available. You will have a detailed list of all full preemptions, partial preemptions, breakouts, etc... for all soaps through at least 1999.

So incredible!! :D your hard work is never going to be forgotten!

    You're the best!

I actually counted all of 87-88 on the official B&B page and the dates all add up! :D

I always wondered why B&B aired its Christmas show on 12/28/87 that year (when another person had uploaded that episode and Y&R from the same date years ago) but the 12/8/87 preemption is the reason we have learned. Haha

I'm adding 1978-1979 in the next few days. All I do is add the images that I posted here at SON to the yearly page on my site, so it doesn't take that long. I don't have to re-type anything!

FROM THE VAULT: WEEKLY DAYTIME NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEKS OF 1/4/88-1/8/88 & 1/11/88-1/15/88:

Whoohoo!! Hard to believe we are at 1988 already!! :D

I saw "me" mentioned here, so I will give you all a sneak peek of the BB preemptions for 1988 before the charts are posted. I've only typed up through 12/9/88, but here are the only BB preemptions in 1988 as of 12/9/88:

2/15/88-2/19/88 Preempted Monday 2/15- NBA on CBS

9/5/88-9/9/88 Preempted Mon 9/5 & Fri 9/9- US Open Tennis

11/21/88-11/25/88 Preempted Thu 11/24- NFL Football & Fri 11/25- Care Bears Movie II

That’s amazing!! :D thank you for sharing this!

one more possible preemption for 1988 could be 12/26/88. At least Y&R was listed as being preempted that day.

Just watched the Dec ‘94 Rotterdam concert eps for the first time. I didn’t realize Bobbie Eakes and Jeff Trachta were such a phenomenon in Europe back then.

Anyone on this board from Europe remember this timeframe? I’m wondering what the root of their appeal was, so much so that fans would fill a giant Rotterdam concert stadium on multiple nights!

B&B has always attracted more audiences overseas,  it seems like,  then it does in the U.S. This goes back to the beginning where I think it was Italy or Greece, that called the show "Caroline" because Joanna Johnson was so popular over in one of those Countries.

Lol Marie Osmond….and an Esther crossover? I mean I adore Linder but this sounds a bit silly?

Osmond’s character sounds like it should have been Macy instead. I guess that cryptic interview Bobbie Eakes gave a few months saying Macy was alive as she never died on screen was just much ado about nothing?

Esther appearing is definitely random, even if it will be nice to see Linder do a little more,  Just funny she's appearing there with Lauren of all people...

I just want one more Lauren/Sheila confrontation, but it doesn't sound too promising...

PREEMPTION DATA CONFIRMED FOR THE TWO "MISSING WEEKS" IN 1991...ALL PREEMPTION DATA TO BE AVAILABLE FOR JANUARY 1979-MAY 1992 (except one week in 1981)

Santa Barbara had one preemption during the two consecutive "missing weeks" of 5/20/91 and 5/27/91. A quick check of newspapers confirms that SB was preempted on 5/27/91 for NBA Playoffs. So, with that, we have the full preemption data for all soaps from January 1979-May 1992 (missing just the week of 8/24/81).

Exact data on PARTIAL preemptions will not be available for the fast weekly weeks (4 per year) from 1979-1987, but all FULL preemptions will now be known for soap history fans!

Telecasts (should all be 15 more telecasts if no preemptions during the weeks of 5/20/91, 5/27/91, 6/3/91)
    As of 5/17/91-6/7/91
    AMC 159-174
    AW 159-174
    ATWT 165-180
    BB 164-179
    DAYS 158-173
    GH 161-176
    GL 160-175
    LOV 161-176
    OLTL 160-175
SB 157-171  (1 preemption during the two missing weeks of 5/20/91 and 5/27/91)
    YR 168-183

Truly amazing!! :D this is so exciting and we can’t thank you enough for all you are doing.

I am not up to date on this week's show (but really looking forward to it!), but I did find that episode in the vault, it's 11/24/2003. Thanks @soapfan770 those scenes were really good. Great acting from MS. I like how Danny was empathetic to Phyllis but held his boundaries. That dynamic between them still works and see it in her relationship with Daniel too. They both call her on her BS. and of course Phyllis was sobbing that she is a changed woman, as usual.

Haha this definitely proves Phyllis was no different then she was 20 years ago. :D I’ll have to watch that episode at some point.

@Taoboi I was waiting for your thoughts on this week tbh 🙂

I think Claire Grace works on paper but HE is a miscast IMO.  Erin’s contemporaries in AL, ZS, and CH each have such distinctive looks and vibes about themselves while HE felt liked a washed up has been. Actually when in that first scene she kind of looked like Hunter King to me. I guess we’ll see where character goes beyond

      Hide contents

    Nikki’s newest sidekick

I actually found Friday’s Danny & Phyllis scenes interesting tbh. It was 20 years ago back in 2003 when Danny and Phyllis had a quiet yet major iconic confrontation in the GCAC when the encountered each other for the first time since 1998 (minus Phyllis being haunted by Danny’s memory when she was in jail in 2002) so for me that was a nice throwback moment. @YRfan23

I’ll have to watch those 2003 Danny/Phyllis scenes but something about Danny playing the piano as Phyllis was entering seemed almost classic Y&R like…minus the lack of extras of course…

"You don't want to be his wife, you want to be his widow!" is such an awesome line.

Was that 1995 clip one we had already?

No, I think it might be from 8/18/95 which we don’t have but I’ll check.

edit: the clip is from 8/17/95! :)

Did we ever hear what the “different kind” of anniversary show will be?

Thank you! I finally had a chance to watch. There's such a through-line with Liz's character after 20 years... "Look at me, girl!!" It could be 1973 or 1993 ❤️ Why oh why did MAB have to pull the "stunt" in 2010 of killing Liz off, just so David Hasselhoff could return for a few eps 😕 Liz should still be on the show, as the only original cast member, dispensing needed wisdom to all the younger foolish characters.

I so agree with you 😕 MAB probably thought she was "honoring history" (her favorite line to say during her reign of terror) With killing off yet another Matriarch of the show, the same way LML shamefully killed off John Abbott, 4 years before....

God bless Julianna M. though. I think she's 94 now, but still responds at the Y&R FB group! :D

RIP to the one and ONLY Billy Abbott for me :(

Here my tribute video I've done these last 10 days

Wonderful tribute!  Still can't believe he's gone... 😰

Was the fist bump with Victor from a BTS clip or from an actual episode? haha I don't remember that one.
