Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Hahah!!! It's funny you mentioned that since I just woke up and was looking for any hints for the RHoDubai reunion. What is the first thing I see? La Dame Grande promoting the next season. lol. Same. You could count on RHOA and RHOBH to give you great seasons at the same time!!!! The good ole days. I agree. It would be nice if these latter day producers had the early Carlos King touch, but alas. In the good news front, I've begun my catch up on OC at least.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Ah! Okay. Good to know. Yeah, I agree with that as well. May felt like the middle of his arc...with June/July being where it was climaxing or turning into a new story or turn. Ava's visit to the pharmacist comes to mind when she told him to keep doing it with a smirk on her face. Yeah...I'm still recovering from Sonny almost jumping off the roof Friday one week and not talking to Jason to starting Monday talking to Jason like old times. The definition of jarring.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Well said. I always wonder at PM being picked up on as a HW since from what I've seen he has had interference every single time and/or not enough time to establish a clear presence. So how can one truly know if he would be a good one?

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Now that you are making me think of it...did we ever find out who wrote during the strike. Because yes, that had good momentum as well. Yeah...it seem like Joss and Dex were making their way back to each other. But the writing change made their reunion so abrupt. Not helped that they stopped building up Dex's character which PM was trying to do. I liked that he had his own story, giving him and PCPD complexity. I liked his bonding with Dante and Chase. And now that seems gone. Yes! Classic in modern times. Showing that sometimes the old ways work best. I just wished it showed in the ratings more. It might have if given time. Yeah. Meh. I was shocked to see Jason and Liz (very) slowly circling each other again. Meanwhile, PM clearly paid attention to comments and fans because everyone had talked about Jason's parenting skills for years. That story of his kids and his return wrote itself. My apologies for looping around, but yes!! It was like a lovely case of building bricks and I really wanted to see the full picture of what PM planned to do with Anna/Laura vs Sonny. You had them separately call him out. You have the schism show. You saw Anna get a clear smoking gun per Dex AND the wedding attack. Laura maneuver Molly to take the case. It was building to be a classic umbrella tale and that whole town would have been divided and might have shed some light on who Sonny is now mortality wise. And bonus...all three are on contracts and should have been frontburner with no abrupt disappearances. Then tie in Ava with the meds or even Pikeman climaxing right before the actual Trial of Sonny and...just smh. And now we are back to meh. PM did such a good job making me like characters that I felt indifferent to before or not even like. I would have liked to see the rest of Dex hazing storyline. It gave the audience something to relate to ON SCREEN at that and gave him more character and more of a circle (Chase, Dante, Curtis) outside of Joss. And that was nice to see. Play that potential gray matter. I agree. During the run, you definitely got a feel of where everyone was coming from. And I mean everyone. You now make me wonder if anything would have come of the simmering resentment between Drew to Jason...which could have been a whole other storyline post-Pikeman. Though I would have thought they would shift Jason's story after that to his kids. But like you said...FV didn't give PM a chance cuz the potential was there.

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-12 Well, I had to get around to it some time, didn't I? It's a given that I'm sticking around for the returns for much discussed reasons. But as I say on other threads, it was already getting to be a chore before CVE's name officially popped up on the screen. However, I don't like to think negatively which is what I was saying before that name officially popped up on the screen. So I cannot promise I won't drag or read like @titan1978 did a few weeks back and I loved because it echoed a lot of how I felt. However, I do like to see positive beats, and I do give credit where it's due. But if B&B can bounce back after months of bad writing and Y&R can find some form of momentum after losing it and being unevenly slow after two weeks of throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks...then I can at least hope I see momentum pop up here since 'action' is back glancing at posts here and there. That said...seeing Natalia walk into Kristina's room to get her to break up with Blaze. As soon as I saw her in the door I was like THIS BIT@H! In the credit where it's due department...I liked how they had Willow go back to nursing. I thought that was set up well and didn't feel jarring. KMcMil did a great job showing her remembering how she feels about helping others. I'm waiting for the moment that I can join the majority of people who keep saying TJ and Molly have not gotten much focus on the baby loss aftermath. From where I'm watching, it does not seem the case. Yes, the focus is on Kristina primarily, but I cannot say or see that they are not getting nothing. Sorry. It appears they are doing a slow burn on a rift coming between them and I felt that was being done well. In my weeks of not watching, I still thought about TJ breaking down in the apartment...not knowing Molly was on the other side of the door and just walked away. And this episode TJ is furious at Molly for being so closed off. I feel their conflict is very organic and sadly realistic from personal experience. If anything, it is making me think of Nick and Sharon losing Cassie on Y&R where one was breaking down while the other person was closing off. And I feel both of them are doing a great job. SMH at Nina. It's already clear...just like with what the New/Old Writers are doing with Ava...that they are dumbing her down again without any nuances, and it's sad to watch since I've enjoyed the Nina/Drew arc under PM...and the potential for where the addition of Willow to it will go. I do love that Maxie seems to still have the new fire (and KS has been looking great) she had under PM's writing. MMmmm my Beast. lol. I am happy to see Brennan stay and why I thought that. But that was while PM was writing. I'm unsure I feel as good with these New/Old Writers. That said, Charles Mesure did have great chemistry IMHO with both LW and FH so good to see the New/Old Writers playing him with BOTH of them. And aha! Finally someone re: Anna figured out he's behind Carly being free.

B&B: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-21 Wow. It took Steffy until Wednesday to confront Hope. I didn't know whether it shows how invested I've gotten in the show again, or if it's Lloyd Gold writing. LOL. That said I liked that Finn told Steffy. And yeah, Steffy was right. But I didn't like how she was going off on him. Yeah, Finn can be surprisingly naive about people, but that's part of the reason you love him, Steffy. She was low blowing him a little too much for me. I do hope that if Hope is going to be catty about Steffywhen she is not in the room, she will be giving it to Steffy, too. After all, the real reason Hope is into Finn is that she feels he can do better than Steffy. Just own it, Hope. Earn the slap you have coming. I can't believe that the Luna thread vanished after Monday. So far. So is Luna cray cray? I mentally roll my eyes every time I see NuTaylor. But lord, if those writers aren't trying. I just think KA's reintro as NuTaylor was better.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
So how is filming looking? NJ just ended. Not missed. Meanwhile Teresa is starring on other shows. Dubai is about to end in a month's time. OC is airing, hitting its midpoint NEXT TIME: NY, SLC RHOM...well I was wrong and filming starts next month so I guess we are not seeing them until next year. I want to say either RHOA and RHOP have wrapped or will be very, very soon. Same for BH. So will those be the next HW shows to air. Kinda nice for RHOA/BH since they used to air together in the fall/winter. So...I miss?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
But I feel we have been calling it that since the Season 1 reunion and Production is wise to keep that undercurrent always going. Well...as for reunion tea...from what little I've seen. Brooks got blindsided by Taleen or her husband and went off online on her. And Ayan I believe. And Brooks is keeping tight with Lesa. That's all I've noticed. Well...Brandi does know how to be a leech so we will see. I know I'm slowly going to catch up...lol. Thoughts coming soon...that midseason trailer was gold.

Y&R: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-20 Uh oh. I feel momentum building. Again. Which is good. There has not been much of it since the climax of Ashley's second arc in her Alters storyline. You know I've lived for Summer vs Audra. I thought it was too early with the actresses when the Kyle/Audra fling happened. But now that both actresses have more experience, it's great to watch them go at it. And awwww at Kyle and Summer maybe approaching an agreement as well as Kyle and Audra coming to a bit of a truce. Billy continues to be an prick. And we know it's because he suspects Chelesa is lying to him. So I don't like him projecting onto Lily. But oooooo that that very slick Victor/Nikki tag-team that ended this episode. If I had time...I might watch the next episode. Victor was a hoot throughout the episode. Good to see Chance a little bit more. Though he tried to warn Billy...

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHoDubai Honestly...not a lot went on. I still loved it, but outside of the surprising brunch between Lesa and Stanbury, it was pretty much the Housewives going about their lives with a polo event at the end. And what a brunch it was!!! I think I might have to re-watch it to get all of the nuances on display. Because the wordplay they were using on each other...this was not a brunch. It just felt like Lesa and Stanbury were playing a game of chess with each other. Still, for two girls who dislike each other, it says something about both of them that they could sit down and hash it out in the interest of their mutual friend. Outside of the polo event, this episode was just great in how it showed some of the cast's lives. It was great to see Ayan working on her business. Not sure how I feel about the idea of Sara's son almost getting kidnapped though I loved the Nina cameo (and her shade hehe). And that final scene with Caroline and Sergio...just wooow. It felt so real, and I hate to say it...but I think he truly does love Caroline. CAROLINE. If Caroline Stanbury is going to do anything, she's going to show EVERYTHING. And she did. Girl went on a whole apology tour this episode to the point that even I am over it. So is Sara. And the friendship with Ayan might actually be important enough for her to actually be emotional about it and also HAVE A SITDOWN WITH HER NEMESIS. lol. And if there is anyone that Caroline is competing against...it's Lesa. And just her talking about her life and her birthday was very enlightening, and...it might actually be love with her and Sergio and it was nice to see that talk at the end. Heartbreaking though it might be in the long term. TALEEN. Outside of showing Saba how to do squats and the polo event, she didn't do anything this week. BROOKS. Outside of the polo event, she didn't do anything this week, either. If anything, it was nice to have it confirmed that she's known Taleen's husband longer than she's known Taleen. And that was why that fight at Caroline's housewarming was a cut too deep for her. SARA. lol. Nina said online that her cameo was totally last minute because she had run into Sara. Nice to see her regardless. And this story with Sara, the nanny, and her son....just WOW. I hope she punishes that woman for even considering the potential kidnapping. And the men wanting to even consider a kid is very foul and disgusting. Saba also continued to say nothing, but true about Sara's relationship with Akin. If he is insecure now when they are not married, how would he be if they were married? AYAN. Outside of her business meeting and her polo dress, she didn't really give much either. Except annoyance. Because she kept harping on the voice note business, and it just felt like everyone has now moved past it. And was it me or was she annoyed that Lesa/Stanbury are now getting along? I mean...really? LESA. I think we know where I stand with her and VoiceNoteGate. But it was the brunch that got me. It's not that Lesa has not shown she can have a civil conversation with someone she doesn't like. It was still surprising to see her sit down with Stanbury. And then the conversation. I felt what Lesa was saying was true, but just how she said it. Overall...it was just...there. Granted I'm no Brandi fan, but that does not take away from Andy and his nasty-ness.

Y&R: August 2024 Discussion Thread
I totally believe. Especially Bill Bell. Say what you want about Victoria Rowell, but Bill Bell appeared to take her advice and counsel when it came to story points that she felt was relevant to the black audience. And God bless her for doing so. I would argue about that last point, but I saw that casting call over in the spoiler thread that sounds like a recast. I would rather they focus on what they got, but it seems like a moot point or they never go where I would want them to go with what they got. Or worse, they recycle the story they just used with their black characters for their white characters with very little change. That was not even that long ago so...???

I'm the same way. There have been times when I'm not caught up, see the credits and know where to stop reading. Then I might come back later if there was something in the discussion that I wanted to touch on or no one touched on. And then he falls in bed with Nina of all people, and Carly's head explodes. Same. I felt Adamson gave Michael the edge that he had been missing with CD in the role. Or perhaps it's because he subbed in at the right times. I do agree on him as Noah on Y&R though.

Y&R: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-16 First of all, Phyllis threatening Victor and Victor standing there and smirking in her face was the reaction I needed. Because I was right there with him when I thought... Second of all, I guess it's two for two on a decent week. It's funny how my viewing soap schedule has done a 180 in viewing pleasure. B&B is currently holding my interest where I was once bored. And Y&R appears to be slowly doing the same. Again in terms of storylines that are holding my interest. The Faith/Lucy storyline continues to do it. As I said before, it's been so long since there has been a young teen story on this show. And surprisingly it is very beliveable. and made all the more believable with Faith saying to Nick and Sharon that she's basically pitying Lucy who 'has no friends.' Well...harsh, Faith. But...sadly...very human. Lucy is currently grounded, and I like that all the parents (Nick-trying to hide that bubble from the camera hehe, Sharon, Daniel who has been looking snack-y, and finally Heather) are slowly learning about the drama between Faith and Lucy. But since Faith isn't being honest to Lucy...where is this storyline going? Given the obsessive phone calls Lucy has been making even though she's grounded, is Lucy about to go cray cray? And speaking of cray cray...I was looking forward to seeing Sharon on retreat. But this ghost of Cameron keeps saying that Sharon is hiding something from herself and that IT is in Genoa City. What? For the first time, I thought past trauma and since JG seems to want to take story ideas from outside of the writer room...could someone have told him about Sharon's father and we are FINALLY getting a story about her father? You betta walk, Audra!!!! lol. Her and Victor have way too much good chemistry. I mean in a master/right hand person kinda of a way. And I love when a boss have a right hand henchwoman so I'm loving their scenes. I continue to feel Summer is going to be responsible for her own downfall in this fight with Kyle. Moreso since Victor just talked to Kyle about it. And I also see a catfight is scheduled for Monday for her so hehe. I TOLD YOU!!!! Chelesa SHUT UP!!!! Now Billy and Sally have overheard them talking. I just want to shake her soooo badly. Where is the conwoman at to lie? Cuz ugh. I guess I care a little bit. At least for Sally. lol. I want Billy to fall on his face. And given the promo for next week...he's about to get his.

I liked it, but not as good as last season's trailer. LOVE that Mary is back as a Snowflake. And as usual, she's going to give us content. And it looks like it's going to be NEW content, too...the sign of a great Housewife. Meanwhile, say it ain't so? I love Meredith/Mary together. But it looks like it will be a good fallout with both getting their licks in. I'm shocked to say this...but if Lisa was still Fabulous Ice to me...I would say I was on her team in the Lisa vs Little Girl feud. But now? I'm actually Team Little Girl...who looks like (and forgive me @Gray Bunny for saying it) she will be using that Ashley Darby playback she got from Gizelle on ALL STARS 4 and was using last season a bit to maxmize a feud with Lisa. Could she be upping her game a la Porsha post-RHOA S5. Time will tell. And Lisa lunging...Guuurl. Let that be MONICA, I bet she wouldn't. Oh, the irony. And here comes Heather as a sniper from the side. Le sigh. I wish the others (outside of Mary) would see her for who she is. Instantly Team New Girl on that feud. But...they all appear to be putting in the work. Which they knew they would have to after Season 4. Might be watching. Same. And reading what you wrote, I wonder if Little Girl's voiceover at the beginning is referencing that re: Monica as well. If so, she is really is going to try to establish herself as the Ashley Darby of this show. Heather for me has been a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. Now that I see her for what she is, I cannot unsee her. So yes, I would love that the only reason she is center cast photo is because Production is about to do a takedown on her late in the season to top the Monica reveal that also came in later in the season last season. If so...clever. - Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
